If you use a treadmill with adjustable incline, walking on a treadmill can be just as effective as walking an uneven terrain outside. Treadmills are great for days when the weather doesn't permit outdoor cardio, but outdoor walks are way more enjoyable.

A few things happened right together. The first was the day I went to get a pedicure and I couldn't even lift my leg over the edge of the foot tub to get into the seat. I had to grab my pant leg and hoist my leg over the edge. The second was I broke a hammock. The final straw was watching my grandmother go through…

Thank you for posting this. Yes, he does have access to the equipment. We have a gym membership. We also have day pass access to a local powerlifting gym to fill in the gaps, if necessary. He is mainly looking to get rid of belly fat and improve his overall health. He isn't a gym noob. He has trained off and on since his…

My husband accidentally posted under my account, so I'll forward suggestions to him lol

These are all great replies and helpful suggestions. I'll reevaluate the seat adjustments and take off the pad.

A calorie is a unit of measurement, like amperes or grams. Nothing more, nothing less. You wouldn't say, "well, that's a good inch and that's a bad inch". In terms of weightless a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. Now, in terms of overall health, nutrition is a different story. If you needed to eat 1500 calories a day to…

I don't do low calorie alcohol. I just make sure if I'm going to a bar that I will have enough of an overall weekly deficit to not negatively impact my weight loss efforts. I've also had to learn to cut back, because being drunk really isn't worth how I feel the next morning. I'll go out and drink maybe two Long Island ice…

Myth, but darn is spicy food tasty!

I did go ahead and purchase a gel seat cover for my seat and I plan on purchasing some cycling shorts. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep on keeping on. My biggest concern was reading some articles that said that it is "dangerous" for your sit bones or groin area to be sore after cycling.

If you aren't coughing and sneezing everywhere, I don't see the problem with you going to the gym. If you're vomiting, have something like strep or the flu, no, don't go; however, a little head cold is no big deal. I had walking pneumonia in October. Had to take five days off, but hit the gym as soon as I was no longer…

What an incredible experience! Thank you for sharing with us.

Lazy, insecure people like to surround themselves with other lazy, insecure people. If they can't find any, they'll pick the closest person to try and drag down with them. I know it sucks, but try and pay no mind to the concern trolls.

This ^ Case in point - I use a stationary bike at the gym for cardio a lot of days when my legs are too fatigued to run on the treadmill or my knee is giving me fits. On my steady state cardio days, I tend to ride for about 45 minutes and will generally log about 7-8 miles in that time frame. MFP tells me I burned 407…

It depends on the day, but my typical total body day involves something along these lines: 3 sets/10 reps of either leg presses/barbell squats/goblet squats 3 sets/10 reps of either behind the back walking barbell lunges/seated leg curl 3 sets/10 reps of either wide grip lat pull down/dumbbell shoulder press 3 sets/12 reps…

I weigh every Friday morning.

Helped. I use Stevia in my morning coffee. Shaved about 80 calories off my daily calories that I would rather put toward a snack, like some hummus and veggies. I also enjoy the occasional Diet Pepsi.

For me it is accepting the fact that I've consumed all of my daily calories right after dinner, because I was a notorious late-night boredom binge eater. I would say the biggest contributor to my weight gain was nearly constant, mindless shoveling in the food. Three and four Hot Pockets. Bagels with cream cheese and slices…

I find I don't feel as bloated when I drink kombucha. There is a local company that every so often sells seasonal flavors of 'buch and it is amazing. I've also really enjoyed the Humm Kombucha Target exclusive flavor - apple berry.

May I join in? Me: 0 LNS: 2 Streak: 0 days Tomorrow is a brand new day.

It's fermented, so if you get a true 'buch if you drink too much you'll get a buzz. It can also cause diarrhea. The recommendation is no more than 20oz per day. The probiotics are healthy, but they don't negate the fact that kombucha does, in fact, have calories so make sure you log it.

Honestly, I don't really think there are any magical benefits to putting coconut oil and butter in your coffee. It doesn't take bad, and it will make you feel full, but I don't think there is anything particular special about it.

This post is very concerning to me. If I may be so presumptuous, it borders on disordered eating patterns. Phobia of eating veggies, because those 30 calories will set you back. Dangerously low daily calorie goals. Please plug your stats into your MFP profile and see what sort of goals it gives you. I think you'll be…

In the Locker Room -"Dang, I hope the locker thief doesn't strike again. Maybe I'd be safer leaving my wallet in the car." -"Is that Irish Spring I smell?" -"Okay, where are my gloves and headphones? Headphones? Headphones!? Oh...wait. I put them on already." In the Gym -"God, I hope I can get a Smith Machine." -"Nope,…

I can't tell if this question is serious, but I think when you join MFP they ask you if you are breastfeeding and they increase your calories accordingly. I wouldn't try and track calories burned via breastfeeding as you're not getting your heart rate up whilst doing it.

It's not realistic as a sustainable lifestyle. Even the first major proponents of it, like Freelee and Raw Alignment, have moved away from it. I guess I just don't understand not eating a bowl of warm oatmeal. If it fits within your daily calorie budget, why not?

Starbucks syrups are 20 calories/pump with a pump weighing around 22 grams on average. So if you put your cup on a digital food scale and you weigh the syrup, you should be able to get a fairly accurate calorie count.

I have a few guys at my gym who look like celebrities, so in my mind I call them Glenn Beck, Harry Potter, and John Cena.
