I keep it small and keep the active ones. Inactive ones get politely purged. I would rather have 5 great friends than 100 strangers on my friends list. As a guideline - I don't normally accept FRs from someone with over 100 friends unless there is a compelling reason, or a personal message as to why the FR.

When not working, I have a farm to take care of, I cycle (alone and with my wife), golf, hunt and fish with my sons. I am also a Clash of Clans player (TH11, lvl 148) especially on foul weather days. I do read and I volunteer often. I find these activities to be so much more fulfilling than binge-watching The…

Cycling - get fitted for a bike with handlebars that put the least amount of pressure on your wrists. No sure about this - but swimming - could also work because you can control the hand speed through the water to limit wrist pressure.

I ride, I golf, hunt and fish with my sons, and I work my farm with all the hard work that comes with it like clearing brush, chainsawing, digging, etc. It might kill me one day, but at least I lived my life not cooped up in a house, inactive and overweight, looking at the idiot-tube and watching 1/2 hour of commercials…

I own my own business and routinely work 10-12 hour days. I get it - it can drain you - make you feel like you did your taxes for 12 hours. I do, however, get weekends off...because I will work 14 hour days to not have to work on Saturday or Sunday. To give me exercise time...I gave up TV. If I wanted to watch the tube it…

My impression of Shaun T ALRIGHT PEOPLE - LEVEL 1 DRILLS!!! Seriously though. A few important things to know about Insanity: >>>When Shaun T says to recover - hit the pause button (if needed) and recover all the way >>>Consider working out every other day as opposed to daily to give you a chance to recover. It might take…

Last night on the KATY trail...Students are gone from Mizzou, Stephens, and Columbia College and I had the trail all to myself. The isolation is awesome...maybe saw another rider every 30 or 40 minutes.

I am and engineer and came up with the following diagram (made it on PowerPoint - of course). This should explain this thread and the people that use it:

Awesome. If they ever come this way again, be sure to message me. I know a lot of great places to eat, visit, check out, etc. that are all bike accessible.
-
I use RunKeeper and when going through densely forested areas - it has problems.

My favorite is Diet Squirt Then Coke Zero

Hahaha - I just watched it again...I can't believe this has climbed to almost 1.9MM views. I saw this about 18 months ago when it was maybe 200k views. BTW - this conclusively proves that Unicorns, if they exist, have never been found.

01 - 13.15 04 - 18.37 05 - 14.80 07 - 20.09 09 - 17.63 All miles on the KATY Trail in Central Missouri.

Headed here now...see you in 2 hours :-)

I ride the KATY and MKT trails - so my distance is not impressive like those above, but the burn is every bit as good :-) I just ride 3 or 4 times per week to stay in shape...so no distance goals but I like to keep my average speed in the 13 to 15 mph range which is tough on the trails 01 - 13.15 04 - 18.37 05 - 14.80 07 -…

I stopped my bourbon cleanse to get in on this thread...

This one is 18 months old but still one of the coolest trail-cam pics of a turkey that we have ever seen.

Do you like salads? I too hate many cooked veggies - like broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, cabbage...but I have them all raw in a salad I am also extremely prejudiced against peas and lima-beans. I illegally profile them, target them for arrest and jail, and hate them on site - on principal. If I do have to eat them (to be…

Dammit!!! I am "new and improved" - I don't qualify

The fixed bikes look awesome. I would love to try one out. However, I just can't bring myself to plunk down the cash for one though. So... ...I just burn a gazzilion calories on my $600 Jamis Allegro hybrid mountain bike on the very flat, very straight KATY trail. If I want leg day - I sprint until I drop.
-
I have been wrong for nearly 30 years...but I never knew it until last year B)
-
Great job on the weight loss. You look great. And nice bike too. I have heard the hills of Florida are incredible for weight loss B) I know this to be a fact as I ride the KATY trail which has maybe 6 feet of elevation change per mile. No coasting either due to fine gravel surface.
-
haha This is better than FB
-
I just unfriend them or block their content...and move them into the same company that posts "quotes of the day," "checking in," and other trivial nonsense that clogs up my feed.
-
Sometimes, to recover, I just hit the pause button and collapse into a fetal position. B)

I totally get it. I ride trails. They are much harder effort than roads. Hands down! However...I am too lazy to wear a HRM and my calorie burns are high enough even using the slower average speed that I am credited with. I am glad I saw your comment on the tire sizes too. I just tried a more technical ride and almost ate…
-
I ride the trails myself - but as a flat-lander. I know when I get off the KATY trail and jump on the road, my speed shoots up 3 or 4 mph with the same effort. The MFP calorie estimates have to be based on brand-new asphalt-surfaced glass-smooth road-rides with a tail wind. Beautiful pics BTW.

When I was a kid - like 8 or 9 years old, I would go to my neighbors to play with Mark and Jim. In those days parents kicked you out of the house and said don't come back until supper - no matter the time. One time, we got kicked out so their mom (Rosie - of course) could work out with one of those fat melting jiggle…
