  • You could be losing everywhere, which is making certain spots seem bigger. When i look down my belly seems round, looking in the mirror its flat (a fat flat) but still flat. Its odd how different angels play tricks on our eyes. Best thing to do is just measure yourself.
  • I can't say i have anyone area bigger than the other. But i too have yet to see inches come off my highs, or even calves for that matter. But i'm starting to see definition around my knee. I've always had pretty muscular legs.. the added fat doesn't help. :s I have a feeling my legs will be the last to go.
  • I dont think "punishing" yourself to go on a 1,200 calories diet is the way to go. You need to figure out why you went binge crazy. Are you allowing yourself to have treats? If you constantly deny yourself you will of course lose all control. You need to learn moderation. I'd go back to your normal diet, and learn…
  • Initially i lost 20 pounds.. since being on here (about a month) i've lost another 7 pounds.
  • I get where both of you are coming from. I was the same way. But one day i got very serious, i hit my all time high of 165 pounds, i couldn't stand looking in the mirror. I felt ugly. So i made the change. I lost 20 pounds. I took a break and i couldn't seem to break my 140-145 pounds (i keep fluctuating) which only made…
  • I guess i'm lucky... i dont have a taste for fast food. My weakness is ice cream. More specifically, mint chocolate chip. I admit, i ate a pint of it before one day. :s It was a very stressful week, i think i deserved it! Lol. We're all human. Just keep going :) tomorrow is a new day.
  • I just started back, been here a month now and have lost 7 pounds. I lost 20 pounds prier though.
  • The only way to reach it is to watch what you eat. You need to count calories. Buy a food scale, weigh everything. Fruits, vegetables, bread. Even things like peanut butter and oatmeal. Being strict will help you understand how much you should really be eating. You can try to start at 1,700 calories. And slowly go down the…
  • Maybe you need to change up your calories throughout the day to make room for more food later? What calories are you on? So many people try to drastically go to 1,200 calories and it burns them out. If you're that low i'd up the calories, adding an extra 100-200 calories is a lot better in the long run if it means you…
  • Yes... people always say how much i lost. How good i look. But i look in the mirror and just see FAT I was at 165 pounds at my highest, and when i look at pictures i can see a difference. But not as much as i would of thought... I'm at 138 pounds, i should be feeling fantastic. I do, in a way, i know i've done so much. But…
  • @SezxyStef I'm meaning if there is something wrong in OP's calories deficit and then they add in more calories, no matter how small. They will only make it worse. And that's if they only drink protein powder in water... Say you add a banana or put in milk. Well there you go, adding a lot of extra calories. I guess i should…
  • Be cautious about adding protein. It can add a lot of extra calories, and if it happens to be an issue in your calories deficit it will only make things worse. I would first take extreme caution with food. Measure everything out. Maybe even buy a food scale. First see if it's actually your calories. You could very well be…
  • Like others have said, i will continue on the journey and start building muscle. I don't just want to be thin, i want to be toned. My goal weight is 120, i'm not exactly sure if that'll be my actual goal, i'll have to see what i like, maybe i will have to lose more weight? Who knows. But i think i'll up my calories more…
  • I had a similar problem and i got the same answers, i must not be logging correctly... this past month i ranged from 140-145 pounds, i gained and lost that 5 pounds for a WHOLE MONTH. Guess what happened when i got on the scale last week? I was down 7 pounds (from 145 pounds). I don't know when i lost it, how i lost, or if…
  • You need to remember weight loss is not liniar. I hate that MFP does that, it puts high standards. Everyone loses weight differently. I hit a bump in the road, i could not get out of the 140's and went month without losing a single pound. I actually fluctuated between 140-145 pounds. I just now finally hit 138. Im actually…
  • I workout 6x a week and have been doing so for over a month. I'm not seeing any negative effects... Though i might be eating more then you? I tend to stay upwards of 1,500 calories, i certainly couldn't or wouldn't go too low on calories. Will just end up burning you out.
  • I think the only next possible step is for you to start building muscle. Are you still on a calorie deficit? Or are you maintaining your current weight? If so i would start adding in more protein, and doing more weights. And not little weights, proper heavy weights. Scale wont move, but you should start seeing changes in…
  • If you go to a users profile you will see an "add friend" button.
  • I went for what was considered an average/healthy weight for someone my height, which was 120. Though i will go by what i feel i look good as in terms of my size. Goal is to be healthy, i'd rather weigh more and be fit then be super skinny and brag "yeah i'm only 100 pounds!"
  • Going to be starting school! So getting my weight under control now. But i have a friend going through that college problem... slow changes, till you get where you need to be :) start counting and seeing if you're going over maintance and start doing changes from there.
  • Anyone can add me too
  • 1,200 is the fastest way one could probably lose weight because its the bare minimum recomended for a female. But quick weight loss isn't always ideal anyways... Losing weight toofast can cause your body to use good muscle and people end up being a 'skinny fat' Im also 5'3 and was at 165 pounds. Im down to 138. I eat 1,500…
  • I'm not sure i completely understand... are you logging all your calories/food in both? Are the extra calories net calories? Meaning you added in exercise and it's giving you more that you're allowed to eat? If it's net calories, most people eat about 50%-75% back of those. So you could realistically eat about 100-250…
  • Red flags: Nuts. Are you weighing this? I ask that because even going over just a little can cause you to be eating extra calories. It might not seem like a big issue, but if you're eating them daily it can add up very quickly. Meats. Are you weighing this also? Make a fist, are you meats normally bigger than that? If so…
  • +1 +1 What they both said... Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. You may be eating clean, but how much are you eating? Are you eating at 2,000? More? Less? You can't expect to lose weight if you're not in a calories deficit.
  • :p you made me want chili now!
  • You need to put it in your mind that this is a life style change. Crash diets don't work. And it's why so many people gain all the weight back... You need to continue to enjoy life. Don't take out anything you don't plan to keep out forever. You need to learn moderation. We all have those days we over eat, no biggie. But…
  • If you're losing too quickly, you could be causing your body to burn off a lot of muscle, which is making you a "skinny fat". AKA your losing but have a high fat %. Now i'm not saying that's the case for you but it could be. For example, take a look at your fist. One fist is equal to 1 pound of muscle and two fists are…
  • I'm 5'3 and also looking to lose my last 20 pounds or so. Feel free to add me
  • Feel free to add me too (:
