  • Next mini is another 5lbs. That'll get me down a total of 75.5lbs. After that, I'll go after 5 more, to hit 170lbs, where I expect to maintain. I don't see me being much below that.
  • My heart rate is lower. When I started losing weight back in March, 5 minutes on the eliptical would have my heart rate at 150. Now, 70lbs lighter and much fitter, after 15-20 minutes, it's at 118. That seems like a win.
  • I definitely agree with the gyst of this. Again, I believe everyone giving advice here is doing it based on what has worked for them, which makes sense. I listened to the "Cut the Fat" poscast series (great, btw), and one thing they say a lot is "there is only one true weight loss formula, and it is different for…

  • I aim for, and usually achieve, macros of 50% carbs, 30%, 20% protein. Today I hit the 70lbs lost mark in just over 7 months, dropping from 250.5lbs to 180.5lbs. I regularly eat over 300g of carbs in a day. Low carb is not necessarily necessary. CICO works well for me, and many others, regardless of carb intake. I agree…

  • Everyone can definately do this! Running is as much mental as physical, if not more so. Once I believed I could run, I was good to go :)
  • I hate when my laces come untied. When I remember, I double knot them before starting...
  • That's awesome, good for you! I know the feeeling. I started off on XXL shirts and 40-42 pants, depending on the pair. I was dumbfounded to find myself fitting into medium shirts and 34 pants (next ones will be 32s). I totally get the feeling out of place thing...but it sure feels good to be there :)
  • This post is amazing. And the theme of it applies to men as well, if not all of the the specific examples. Thanks for posting it :).
  • Well done!
  • Congrats! I remember the day I did that run...was a great feeling :)
  • Haha, I hear ya. I'm at 183.5. On our way!
  • Thanks. Never really thought I'd be one to inspire people. I'll take it, I guess, just glad to help. Let me know if you have questions, or if there is anything I can help with :)
  • This happened a couple weeks ago. I was getting a towel for the gym. I grabbed one, and thought that I couldn't take that one, because it wouldn't fit around my waist. Then I checked to make sure, and it fit easily :).
  • It is doable, go get it. I've dropped 65lbs in the last 6.5 months, so I know it can be done. Last night, while on a walk, I was thinking how glad I am I started this in March. 7 or 8 months ago, I wouldn't have believed I'd be here, but I am. It'll take a lot of hard work, and tough decisions, but it is worth every bit of…
  • Haha, I'm in a similar spot. I am in a bet with a guy I work with to see who will weigh less at the end of the year. He was about 80lbs less than me in March, about 20lbs less than me when we made the bet, and currently 6lbs less than me. Winning that bet is one of my longer term goals at the moment. Currently working on…
  • I've done ok selling old dvds to second hand movie stores. If you have a bunch you don't watch anymore, you can try that. Or selling other things you don't need on Facebook local selling groups, that kinda thing.
  • That is amazing, good for you. Keep at it! Great progress and dedication so far.
  • Thanks! Still not sure exactly where I'm gonna land, but it'll be about another 20 lbs. Good luck with your goals as well :)
  • Ha, I hear ya. I'm down 63lbs, and my daughter weighs about 44lbs. Whenever I pick her up, I'm amazed that I used to carry around about 1.5 of her all the time :)
  • Thank you for your service, and congrats on the 50lbs! How much more are you looking to lose?
  • They pretty much said it all already. Make sure you are chasing down the calorie deficit. The workouts alone won't necessarily drop the weight, unless they put you in a calorie deficit. Good luck! Keep at it, you'll get there. I started pretty close to where you are, 250.5lbs, just over 6 months ago. I weighed in at 187.5…
  • I'm losing at about the same rate as before, maybe a bit slower. There are a couple factors involved, though. One is that I'm down 63lbs so far, and probably only have another 15-20 to go, so I think it is natural for loss to slow down at this point. The other is the fact that I'm taking advantage of the extra calorie burn…
  • This. It took me a while to really get this, but I'm all over it now. I eat pizza and McDonald's fairly regularly, but I am always under my calories. It may not be the healthiest food, but I'm not eating it all the time, and I don't think anyone can or should eat perfect all the time. What some consider cheat meals don't…
  • I had a couple friends refer to my weight before I started losing. They were friends, and I was aware that I was heavy, so not really that big of a deal. Wouldn't want to hear it from strangers, though.
  • At 188lbs this morning. Two mini goals down, 180lbs is next, be there before November :)
  • Lol. Lots of people will mention that you are losing. It takes a real friend to tell you you are getting fat
  • What kind of negative comments are you getting? I don't think I've had anything but supportive ones while I've been losing. Negative comments about healthy choices sounds messed up. As mentioned above, you may not need those people in your life.
  • Definately be happy with the progress you are making. Losing 1.5lbs a week, or more, is fantastic, and a lot of people would be super excited to achieve that. Sounds like you have heard this already, but you need to be at peace with the fact that this is not a race. Keep doing things right and you'll get there. It may take…
