I'm not sure if this is a goal or just a procedure. Either way I'm here to put this out there as a way of helping me be accountable to myself. Goal/Procedure #1: Get my FitBit 250 steps per hour at the beginning of each hour instead of waiting for my FitBit to remind me at 10 minutes before the end of each hour.

I'm in! My goals, including FitBit tracking:* Log all food * Make or surpass step goal * Make hourly 250+ step goals * Make or surpass activity goal * Make hydration goal * Stay under Calorie and Carb goals

I'd be up for your basics challenge this month. Pretty please?

@2t9nty, I'm so terribly happy for you, not to mention impressed. Thank you for being exactly who you are.

Several years ago I lost 42 pounds before my physical therapist noticed. Imagine that! She was doing deep tissue massages on my lower back twice a week; I mean, talk about being familiar with what she was working with and yet she didn't notice the loss until 42 pounds were gone. I'm thinking for really obese people like a…

My size 24 pants are falling off and I don’t own any size 22. I’ve been squeezing into size 20. Today I took a 60 mile trip and just realized I didn’t need to unbutton and unzip to be comfortable.

I can lose weight pretty rapidly so long as I don’t allow any stinkin’ thinkin’. Stinkin’ thinkin’ is like saying to myself, “LCHF is good for me so having several servings will be even better.” No! It’s still a matter of calories in v. calories out. I still have to eat at a deficit to lose weight. The only thing LCHF does…

Perhaps you have the battle half won already. You have taken notice of your issue, put a name to it, recognized your need to change, and reached out for ideas and help. Your awareness may be the solution you needed.

Thanks! I bought it when I was invited to a Red Hat Club luncheon. Too bad I was the only one there who wore a hat. LoL
-
Thanks, Sabine_Stroe... I've applied to join. See you over there.

You win. I don’t know how old you are exactly, but anyone who actually uses “pshaw” is definitely ancient. Yup, you win. (Chuckle, chuckle.)
-
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look for that group.

Here's a post from five years ago about motivation that is finally starting to sink in with me. Just passing it along.

Here’s a good swift kick for you. You say you lost your motivation. That’s not true and you know it. What is motivation anyway? You think it’s some magic state of being where you can easily accomplish your goals? Sorry, Charlie, that’s not how it works. You can’t motivate yourself and no one else can motivate you either.…

I'm not a doctor and this is NOT medical advice but I, too, was concerned about added sodium and HBP so I did an internet search on the topic and asked my doctor for her recommendations. Everyone is different in how they metabolize things so we're all pretty much on our own when it comes to figuring out what is best for us.

I'm with kpk54. Salted bullion is my go to. I add half a teaspoon of Morton Lite Salt which sodium and potassium. Then I take a magnesium tablet to round out my electrolytes and it works for me.

This is such a good week for me. I was completely off the rails and decided to start over. It may seem counter-intuitive but I spent most of last week eating and drinking whatever and staying off the scales. On Friday I weighed in, reset my starting weight to my current weight, and began logging again. While I used to…

How clever and simple. That sounds a lot easier than the calculations I've been attempting. Thanks!

@ProCoffeenator, love them gulls! They eat up rotten fish at the shore and anything from McD's. LoL!!! I survived shopping my myself on Friday. My wallet didn't survive but I did and I have some lovely things to show for it. Not much food, but some clothes for me and some pretty things for the house. Today is…

13 years in Montana where the only Fall color is the yellow in the Aspens. It's good to be in PA where the trees turn a riot of color fall colors. That's my favorite part.

Sometimes people type the right letters in the wrong order. And sometimes it is on purpose. Like I have CDO. It's the same as OCD but in alphabetical order like it should be. Back to the topic, this is the one and only group I participate in. Everyone is kind and supportive. The other benefit is there are none of those…

Sorry, but I can't imagine not being tall. It was awful back in high school being taller than all but two of the boys in my class. They lined us up by height for graduation and I had to wear flat shoes to keep from being first in line. Two boys, me, several dozen more boys, then Corky and she was slender and cute, besides.…

All things bread! Sticky buns, crescent rolls, toasted sour dough bread. The only bread type thing I won't miss is the stuffing from the Thanksgiving turkey. I won't miss it because I'll eat it with abandon. And it will be covered with real gravy made with carb heavy white flour. I'll be giving thanks that Thanksgiving is…

Nice knitted bobbles. There are lots of knitters who won't attempt those.

It's not patience as much as retirement. Just one more benefit on the side of being old. Somehow I suspected you had a creative facet there somewhere.

Check out YouTube for how to videos. Very Pink Knits is one of the better ones.

You know you are LCHF when your SO trims fat off his pork chop and you blatantly reach over and eat it right off his plate. Jim is a quick study. I did that only once and now when he trims away fat he very politely places it on my plate for me to have. Jim is a keeper, for sure.
