I have found it hard to get enough calories in with doing LOW CARB diet, but I have found that taking protein shakes or smoothies that are low in carbs/fats helps a lot in getting those extra calories in.

If I may add this fall I did drop my calorie intake to about 200 calories for 4 meals and lost about 25 pounds in the course of 2 months.
