  • Welcome! It's all about calories. Get all set up here at MPF. Weigh and log your food intake, and you will see results.
  • You can do it! Just don't give up. Best of luck to you.
  • I love the Egg McMuffin with no cheese for just 250 calories.
  • My personal favorite cereals are: Nature's Path Flax Plus Multigrain Flakes (only 4g of sugar and 5g fiber) http://us.naturespath.com/product/flax-plusr-flakes Nature's Path Flax Plus Raisin Bran (12g sugar because of the raisins mostly and 8g fiber) http://us.naturespath.com/product/flax-plusr-raisin-bran Nature's Path…
  • You can do this! Weight loss is all about eating fewer calories than your body burns. Enter your information into MFP and it will tell you what your budget of calories is. Start with food that you like and log it into MFP. Stay within the calories that MFP gives you. I often prelog before I eat so I know exactly where my…
  • I'm on team Off Menu. I have a dairy allergy, so I've learned just to do what I gotta do. Grilled salmon and veggies sounds good -- just have them add some plain pasta or potato for your carb. You'll do just fine.
  • That's about it. To keep the chicken breast as tender as possible, I do recommend adding extra water to the slow cooker. If you can afford the calories, add a half cup of vermouth. Afterwards, I use the liquid as a base for soup.
  • Why call it a cheat day? Log it all the best you can. Enjoy!
  • I like the data, so I don't cheat. If I go over, I go over (and I log it). If I want something high-calorie, I fit it in and/or balance it over a few days. Eating whatever/whenever got me where I am. No way am I going to lose or maintain once I hit goal if I go back to bad habits.

  • DO NOT restrict to 1000 calories. Period.
  • THIS is so awesome!
  • 1 and a half pound of fresh Brussels sprouts (the smaller they are the better) 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Dash of red pepper flakes 2 Tbsp olive oil 4 oz breakfast sausage Trim and halve each sprout. Mix all except for sausage. Spread on a baking tray. Break apart sausage over the sprouts. Roast for 20 minutes. Flip them…
  • When your blood sugar drops like that, many times you won't feel hungry and even nauseous. But you need to eat. Focus on eating foods with a low glycemic index (Google for a list). And check your diary for foods that tend to drop your blood sugar. And it may all be amount. (If I eat a ton of potatoes, that will effect me…
  • Tomorrow is a new day. Log it all as best you can and move on.
  • Read the ingredient listing on the nutritional label. If sugar, high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, and any of the other names for sugar is in the first three ingredients, find something else. Salad dressings, spaghetti sauces, BBQ sauces, and dry breakfast cereals are BIG offenders. You just have to read a lot of labels to…
  • A weight lifter will be able to give you advice on your upper body composition. As for that last ten pounds, you'll need to be very patient. Often any water weight will mask a loss any given week. Make sure your logging is tight as there is little room for error at this stage. Congratulations on your loss so far!

  • Congratulations on your loss! That is fantastic! I would assume you are consuming too many calories for your weight loss goal, which isn't such a bad thing during your marathon training. You have to fuel your body for all that training. A look at your diary does help with suggestions. Do you use a scale to measure? Amazing…
  • Absolutely not. Rutabaga will never hit my plate. My husband hates peas, and I don't think he has to eat them. Now with Brussels sprouts, I always hated them until a friend served them in a way I had never had them prepared...and now they are a bona fide favorite!
  • You look good to me! I think you're being too hard on yourself. Keep lifting on program, be patient, use kind eyes when you look at yourself in the mirror, and you'll slowly start getting the lean muscle you want. Just keep on going.
  • Chicken with snow peas is an excellent choice and easily fit into calorie goals.
  • Please talk to your doctor or a counselor. You really do need professional help. You are not getting enough nutrition. 1200 calories net is the minimum you should be eating. You are hurting yourself.
  • Diet Dr Pepper. Lacroix.

  • What kimny72 has said. Also, to keep it off, you will likely need to continue MFP for maintenance. I know that's my plan.
  • Can you open your diary so we can make suggestions? Since you haven't lost weight and you have maintained your weight, you are eating at maintenance. To lose weight, you must be eating at a deficit but you do not want to eat fewer than 1200 calories a day for proper nutrition. So you'll need to tighten up your logging.…
  • You need to weigh your food. Measuring in cups is not accurate. Even weigh single serving prepackaged foods. Seriously. (Legally packaged food can be 20% more than labelled and they are fined if under so it is in their best interest to give you a little more than a little less.) Do you cook with olive oil, vegetable oil,…
  • Have you adjusted your calories for your current weight?
  • You are losing weight -- you've lost 3 pounds in three weeks. That's great progress! One pound a week average. For weight loss, continue to make sure you are eating at a deficit, that you are using accurate entries in MFP, you log everything you eat honestly, and you use a scale to weigh your food. Congratulations on your…
  • You are most.definitely getting great results. Keep doing what you are doing with confidence!
  • Ignore that! Clearly written by someone who has not suffered mental illness.
  • I eat popcorn every night! I just prelog it and fit the rest of my day in. I've lost 21 pounds so far, so no problem there. Enjoy! Plus, popcorn is a fantastic source of whole grain fiber.
