  • I have 2 dogs, a German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix who just turned 1 this week and a 7 year old Australian Cattle Dog/ German Shorthair Pointer mix. It took a lot of training to be able to run with the Ziggi, the pointer mix mainly because he thinks he runs the show and didn't want to follow my lead (if I let him have free…
  • Congrats on finding the love of your life and starting on the road to good health! You look great! I have so many things to be thankful for myself, including finding my own true love, who's also into health and fitness. I'm also thankful for my furry "kids" who make me smile every day. The dogs are excellent walking and…
  • That is absolutely amazing! Good for you! You look awesome (and I'm betting you feel pretty awesome too)!
  • Just checking in. Trying to get back on track with working out and eating right after going camping for a few days last week. I know I overdid it on the carbs, but at least there was a lot of hiking involved. I wasn't JUST sitting around the fire drinking wine ;) I did manage to pull my Achilles tendon doing plyometrics…
  • Hi there :) I'm Michelle and I'll be 41 in June. I live on 3 1/2 acres in rural AZ with my fiance, 2 cats, 2 dogs and a flock of chickens. We grow our own produce and eat very healthfully (almost no processed food- I make everything from scratch). I'm a very active woman and I love working out. I'd like to lose a few…
  • I always run with a playlist of music that really gets me pumped, plus I use my run as a type of moving meditation, just letting my mind relax and wander and my legs keep moving.
  • I've been lifting weights for years, but have been even more focused on strength training in the last few years (although I still love my cardio too ;) ). I love the way it really gives me a defined, tight body, and of course makes me stronger!
  • I love fresh fruits and veggies! I grow most of my own, so not only do I get the nutrition, I get the exercise from gardening ;)
  • Some great tips here! With mine I either use my nonstick griddle to cook them or I bake them. I don't make them as big as regular hamburgers- more like big flat meatballs (I generally serve them over brown rice rather than on a bun- less carbs). I've used breadcrumbs, flour, quinoa, rice, and oatmeal as binders (I make…
  • Distraction helps me as well, especially keeping my hands busy. Knitting is always good for that, and if I'm following a pattern that helps distract my mind as well as keep my hands busy. I tend to get the munchies late at night, especially if I'm having trouble sleeping, so that's when I turn to knitting or sculpting (and…
  • You're doing great! Be patient with yourself and congratulate yourself on how far you've come in just a short time. We tend to be so hard on ourselves, even when we're heading in the right direction and doing the right things to meet our goals. TV is BS! LOL Those shows aren't real (yes those people may have lost all that…
  • Normally one day (usually Sunday) a week is a rest day for me, although I still try to stay active. Today is probably the most rest I've allowed myself in some time, but that's only because it's raining and my back hurts, so I'm sort of limited as to what I can do. I'll probably do some yoga at the very least. I get antsy…
  • I make my own salad dressing: apple cider vinegar, honey, and extra virgin olive oil- yummy!
  • I'll be 41 in June and I eat a mostly vegetarian diet. I live on 3 1/2 acres and grow just about all of my own produce, plus we have chickens so we've got fresh eggs (great protein source there!). I've always been very active and outdoorsy so that's helped me maintain a healthy weight. I enjoy working out and usually do a…
  • I had the Zip, but it quit working after a few months :( Now I have a Garmin Vivosmart HR and I love that. For me it was a choice between the Charge HR and the Vivosmart HR and the Vivosmart seemed to have better reviews, which is why I went with that.
  • There are lots of different fitness videos on YouTube that are quick and don't require equipment (I do all my working out on YouTube and do a different video every day). If you're looking for something really quick and effective try Tabata- a lot of the workouts are just 20 minutes but it's super effective for weight loss.
  • I'm new here and can use some friends :) I'm trying to lose about 10 pounds (3 down so far!). I already eat a very healthy diet and I love working out and being active. I lift weights, do HIIT, Tababta, hike, all sorts of things like that. It would be great to connect with you ladies!
  • I'm another newbie- first time trying this site. So far I'm doing pretty good (lost 3 lbs and have been logging in and tracking every day). It's always nice to find like minded people too :)
  • I'm pretty new to the site myself, and friends are always good! I've been living a healthy lifestyle for most of my adult life and have learned quite a bit along the way, so I've got plenty of healthy eating and exercise tips to share for those who are interested.
