Yeah, I'm still here. Went to see an award winning rheumatologist and immediately expressed my concern about just going on pills. He said not to worry, he'll take care of me and without blinking wrote me 3 prescriptions. What the hell is wrong with this industry? Three weeks ago I started the keto diet. Few net carbs,…

Aldi breaks out their line of German food products for October every year. Schnitzels, pretzels, wine, sausages, etc. Oh well, maybe next year. I'm not missing anything.

Keep it up buddy. As a robust individual myself, I too think about the same thing. My weight is preventing me from enjoying life. Congratulations on your victory.

So I started drinking coffee against the direction of the AIP diet. I also started to do strength training and group aerobics. More bowel movements, more often and I'm no longer miserable now that I get my coffee fix daily.

I'd tell you to get your eyes checked. It's my soul that's beautiful. I know this because my mom told years ago.

Sucks the pimento out of the olive and spits the olive back in the jar. It's always the kind you would least expect.

I'm also partial to one-pot meals: soups, stews, chili, etc. You can make large quantity and they freeze well. They also tend to be budget friendly and you can control the ingredients, flavors and sodium content. For proteins, I tend to buy less beef because it is super expensive unless you catch a sweet deal then stock up…

Ummm, those numbers are maximums, not minimums. You are not supposed to exceed that sodium count and it's not hard to do, trust me. So you don''t feel like you have to reinvent the wheel, go for your ideas on Pinterest. There's a wealth of ideas there and is my go to source. I can't recommend a deli meat over the another…

I appreciate the candor good people. I'm ready to speak with a rheumatologist.
-
Why Subway? Get yourself to a decent market and buy a better quality product from the deli if deli meat is what you want. You want roast beef, then eat real roast beef not a roast beef like product. Chicken, turkey alike. Subway, and places like that, use the lowest possible grade of food product which is why they can sell…

Be cautious about moving for a job or a relationship but be confident in your decision to do so. However, taking a leap of faith and enjoying the journey will be far more satisfying than the job or relationship itself. It is an opportunity for personal growth.

When I was a toddler, I was diagnosed with rheumatic fever. Doctors prescribed a heavy daily dosage of antibiotics. I took two servings of liquid penicillin every day for a decade--literally from age 2 through age 10. I have to believe that has something to do with how my immune system operates today, although I'm pulling…

Feet hurt from getting in the all of the walking. Decided to do a DVD based workout. I did walk away the pounds and was actually impressed, considering my fitness level (I know some of you run marathons). However, prior to it, I did a 30 ballet stretch DVD and it kicked my butt. Had no idea I was that stiff. I'll…

42 and like Garth Brooks says, "I'm much too young to feel this damn old." Started (again) 51 days ago at my all-time heaviest (352 pounds) and am down to 328. I follow the Autoimmune Protocol diet which is like a more restricted Paleo diet. I did this to reduce overall inflammation that typically is caused by my…

Based on my height, age and weight, my BMR is 2455 cal. I have been using 2100 as my daily goal. Most days, with exercise, I come under. That amount fluctuates on the amount of exercise and caloric intake.
-
Holy crap, that 3-4% range is just freakish.
-
Thanks everyone. BTW--Broga? Would the DDP yoga count? I've been walking for 5 weeks now and my stamina and energy levels are up, so I'm now ready for strength training basics. This is also an area that I know nothing about and will have to explore the forums on.
-
Aye, trust the process.

Reduce stress. That is a priority but so much is on my plate. Damn this grown up life!
-
The Gerson Clinic is a strong advocate of this and they're getting people to beat cancer with it.
-
God bless you because coffee is the one thing I look forward to having back in my life but on the AIP diet, coffee is eliminated for the first six weeks. Here's a link to the blog explaining why: http://autoimmune-paleo.com/kicking-the-coffee-habit/ Read one thing and it's coffee YEAH but read another and it's coffee BOO!…

I did an online assessment today and realized that part of my problem might be my daily usage of OTC pain reliever. I'm still a large beast and put a lot of stress on my feet, ankles and knees and therefore to keep the pain manageable, I take 3-4 ibuprofen daily. Pain reliever does cause constipation. I need to find a…

I would like to explain that I no longer have confidence in the medical community and decided to empower myself and seek the council of those in the holistic community but no doctors. No more pills. No more return visits. No more dealing with insurance companies. Just me, a vastly improved diet, significantly more…

I have a BM about every three days but nothing spectacular. I'm exercising daiky, eating healthy fats, and increased green leaf vegetables. The mineral oil and the recent 7-day colon cleanse yielded unimpressive results. F the doctors, they're no help and will cost me a fortune in copays and scripts. I'm exploring colon…

I'm doing 7-day colon cleanse. Day 4 of 7. Some movement but I expected more.
-
I appreciate the honesty. A friend suggested I try coffee based enemas.
-
BTW--the mineral oil was somewhat disapointing.

Good advice. Today was day two of my walking regime. Trying for those 10,000 steps but not over doing it. Logged almost 17,000 steps in two days. I'm hanging in there.
