  • Such a great idea! I've just downloaded it and entered this evening's run. I'm halfway to the Tookland now, having just crossed the river to the west of Hobbiton. This is going to be a very long journey! Thanks for sharing the app Faelwyn :)
  • Thanks rybo, I will take it more slowly. It's a very different experience from running in my normal shoes, but I liked it!
  • Eesh I thought partner and then best friend!!! You look so young - before you lost the weight and after! You look fabulous now. Your kids must be so proud of you.
  • Yep :) my best time's 31.04, so not under 30 mins yet but I think I'll get there! It's addictive!

  • I completed it last month! I love it - it's changed my life! Congrats on starting it, and enjoy it! :)

  • Well done! I still can't do them. How have you got there?
  • That's brilliant, and what a fast time!! Amazing difference between what you were hoping for and what you did! I did my first 5k a couple of weeks ago and also surprised myself by going significantly faster than I had before (i got 31.04 and was expecting over 36). Like you, I think some kind of stubborn pride must have…

  • Thanks Beansz744. I do wear proper trail running shoes which feel really comfortable, but I got them online so haven't had a proper fitting. If it doesn't get better I'll find an actual running shop and ask advice.
  • Thanks all. I was afraid it might mean rest :( I didn't want to stop running every other day because I might lose momentum, but I guess I'll have a few days break and see how they feel.
  • Running uphill. Hate hate hate it. But it's good running down again.
  • Boxing for me too! I do a weekly boxing for fitness class after the trainer put a flyer thorough my door - like your class it's more boxing than "boxercise", and I love it. The other participants are all guys at the moment which intimidated me when I first went, but it's actually really satisfying being able to hit them…
  • I don't even understand weights. I've got 2kg ones - does that mean each is 2kg or 1kg? They feel really heavy to me but I'm a weakling!
  • I have my first 5k (park run) this Saturday too :) I was having similar concerns about eating, because on the park run website it says make sure you have a good breakfast, and like you I always run on an empty stomach. So I tried a later run than usual yesterday and had breakfast first (quite a big breakfast of toast, egg…
  • Oh no, a sprained foot :( How long do you have to wait to start running again? I ran 3.1 miles yesterday and I'm ready to do my first 5k park run this Saturday! Can't wait!
  • Hi all, can I join too? I've just done Day 1 today :) I completed the shred a year ago after having a baby and had great results! Now I want to do it again with my 2kg weights and see if I can get stronger. Last year I couldn't do a single real press up, now I can do 2 before I have to go down to the modified version, but…
  • I'd def recommend following a Couch to 5k plan - it makes it really fun and keeps you motivated :) I started about a month ago and was amazed I could run for more than a minute the first day!

  • Yay well done

  • That's assuming I do actually get to 5k
  • I've got 2 weeks left of my c25k plan and then I'll be starting bridge to 10k
  • When my lo was that age I tried to do 15 - 20 minute workout videos while he was napping. I rarely got to finish a workout because he was a terrible napper and only wanted to sleep on me. I did frequently end up using him as a dumbbell while I desperately tried to finish routines... In the end I just got family to have him…
  • Tricolour (sp?) salad - sliced avocado, vine tomatoes and mozzarella, with oil, vinegar, salt and pepper dressing. Or don't bother with the cheese and tomatoes, just the same dressing poured in the convenient well you get when you halve it and take out the stone. Avocados are delicious, but you've gotta catch them ripe,…

  • I also did it after having a baby - I started 3 months post partum and it completely sorted my stomach out. I'd already lost the baby weight but had lost all my ab muscle and had quite bad abdominal separation. 30ds was brilliant for me just to get back core strength and see my abs again!
  • If it's when you're watching tv take up knitting :) If it's at work, I tell my colleagues I'm on a diet so I'm then too embarrassed to snack in front of them! My problem is reading - I love reading but unfortunately, like tv, I associate it with eating, and I can't knit and read. I like the gum idea though. If you're just…
  • Did day 29 today! I've been on my own this week and baby is going through some kind of phase where he won't nap again, or sleep properly at night, so I haven't had half an hour to myself to do it daily, hence it taking so much more than 30 days. But I can feel the benefits in my core strength and arms, so I don't think…
  • Thanks! I think I might do another round of 30ds first then as I still find it really challenging and I can use heavier weights. Don't feel ready for something harder yet!!

  • I'm on day 27 and thinking about what I'll do next. How are you finding RI30 compared to Shred? I don't want something that's a lot harder!

  • I'm 15 weeks pp and gaining weight again! I lost all my pregnancy weight in the first couple of weeks as I was too busy and excited to eat much, but since then I've been slowly putting on weight. Breastfeeding is making me constantly ravenous and every time baby feeds or naps I go for the chocolate/nuts/biscuits! I'm…
  • Day 26 done. The jumping lunges are still horrible but today I managed to do them without pausing for both sets, same with mountain climbers. So I have def improved since day 20. It is warm today and I actually had sweat dripping down my face and off my nose when I finished. I don't think I've had real beads of sweat on my…
  • Day 23 done today. Some of the moves I find incredibly hard (jumping lunges, mountain climbers) but I really like level 3. It seems to go so much faster than the level 2 workout which I hated!
