  • Hi, new joiner to this thread :) I started running again a couple of months ago after a few years off with knee issues and then a baby emerging. Really happy to be running 5k again. @neffyworld I didn’t think Park Runs were going? My local ones have been cancelled since the summer I think, hopefully starting up again soon…
  • Also, I don’t know how to find it or link it but there was a thread on here somewhere where women posted their thigh measurements and actually I was surprised that they were on average much higher than I would have guessed. So you may have unrealistic expectations of how slim women’s thighs are anyway.
  • My thighs are the last part of my body to lose weight too. I had to cut down to lowest healthy BMI (19) to get them to slim down and they are still more chunky than the rest of me. I do a lot of home workouts and run too when I can and that’s helped as they are hard now rather than soft, but they are still thicker than I’d…
  • Mine’s working right now but occasionally it stops connecting. I have to go into Fitbit and disconnect and shut down both apps and then reconnect in Fitbit and it usually comes back. Sometimes I have to turn off and restart my iPhone in the process too. If you’ve never got it to connect properly sounds like a different…
  • I really like the fitness blender arm workouts on YouTube - tank top arms and shoulder sculpting. They’re free videos, you just need handweights.
  • It is so strange how our brains distort what our eyes are really seeing. For myself i tend to see everything with a hypercritical eye and only focus on the bits I hate - I look so fat to myself despite my clothes size and weight on the scale saying otherwise, but I was looking at photos of my eldest son when he was a six…
  • I think it depends on how much you weigh, so it’s a proportional thing. I am at the lower BMI range and I notice anything more than 3 lbs significantly in how my clothes fit and how my belly looks!
  • I got the Freeletics phone app a few months ago and find it great for fitting in with busy parent schedule - the workouts are 15-30 mins and if you go for the coach option it tells you exactly what to do each week so you don’t have to do your own plan. I signed up for it when they had a 60% off offer, and as I can’t get to…

  • Gosh, well done for breastfeeding twins, and getting this far along too! I know how tired and hungry I am just feeding one! With me I did lose the weight while breastfeeding both my sons but I did it mainly by exercising more rather than restricting my diet. With looking after 2 one year olds night and day I don’t know if…
  • What is your current BMI? Are you below a healthy level? If so you may need to gain a little to get back to a healthy weight. When I did so my period returned pretty quickly. I was at BMI 19.5 when I lost my period so not even really low, but for me it was too low. I only had to gain a few pounds for my period to return.
  • It’s so nice to feel strong, and it’s just useful. I can lug my three and a half year old boy around without any probs and I barely feel the weight of my 8 month old. My dog got stuck under the car last week when I was camping (he dug himself under there because he’s the stupidest dog in the world) and I was able to lift…
  • Is it following pregnancy? With mine, I didn’t do any of the normal core exercises like crunches or sit ups (def not scissor kicks) until it was better and I was careful every time I stood up or got out of bed to not use my stomach muscles. I just did pelvic floor exercises. It took a month or so to close up and then I did…
  • My digital salter scale was doing this too. I changed the battery (even if new this could be an issue) and make sure I zero it every time I use it (I have to put it away between uses as very cramped house and destructive toddler) and it’s fine now. I check it against my analogue scale (same issue as you - I can’t read the…
  • Congrats on your little one! How is s/he sleeping at night? I only ask because if you’re very tired and sleep deprived you might find dieting now just too difficult and it might be worth waiting until your sleep improves. That said, my youngest is 6 months old and still wakes every two hours so I just had to bite the…
  • I always feel ravenous after eating apples specifically for some reason.
  • Seconding this experience - I also got diagnosed with PCOS after my period stopped but after a couple of years of being healthier (not bulimic) and putting on a bit of weight my period returned. I’m also 5ft 3 and when I was 110lb I still didn’t get my period. It came back very quickly when I hit over 8 st (112lb) and I’ve…
  • I really like 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. I’ve nearly finished it the second time round now and had amazing results both times. Thinking of getting her Ripped in 30 now because her workouts seem to suit me. Only 20 mins a day so fits in with busy life.
  • I did c25k 3 years ago after my eldest was born - I used the podcasts then and liked it. I was relatively fit when I started and went straight to week 3 and I skipped a few of them cos I’m so impatient. Before the end I was doing 25 min 5ks. About 3 months later I screwed my knees up and couldn’t run again. I’m trying…

  • Can you take the dog out for a run once you’ve got toddler to bed? Then you’re not using any extra time as dog needs a walk anyway?
  • I think it could just be normal loss (water?) after having baby. I lost over a stone within 2 months both times after having my two kids. My littlest is 4 months old now and I’m back down to 117lb which is where I was before getting pregnant - it comes off quickly with me. But you prob don’t need to be so restrictive with…
  • Level 2 day 8 done. Gonna get to level 3 this week!
  • I’ve been really slack but picked it up again last week and did lvl 2 day 3 today. I much prefer level 2 to level 1! It’s harder work but I find it more fun. Maybe I just got bored with level 1. Definitely feeling the improvement in strength in my core and also my back and shoulders feel stronger (which is helping with…
  • How many of you are breastfeeding? I’m finding my hunger makes dieting impossible at the moment! I don’t have that much to lose (about 10lb ideally) so I’m concentrating on exercise rather than diet to try and get rid of flabby stomach. But I feel really hungry all the time and eating any exercise calories back and more…
  • Wow you’re nearly there! You could do it again more like Natalie and with heavier weights? It’d be interesting to see how you find level 1 again!
  • Day 5 lvl 1 done! Already feeling the difference. And oh my god, I’d forgotten how listening to my own music rather than Jillian makes it go so much faster!!
  • I think it is unreasonable of your mil to frequently being home large amounts of doughnuts/ cakes / whatever, knowing that you’re trying to avoid them. It seems completely tactless to me. That’s assuming that she is aware that you are trying hard to avoid these things, and that she’s bringing more home than just for…
  • Thanks! Did wall press ups for day 2 today - much better! Still embarrassingly hard though 😊
  • Hi, can i join? Did day 1 level 1 today - need to get fit after having my second baby 2 months ago. It did wonders after my first was born 3 years ago so I know I can do it, but I’m gonna need to force myself! It was hard going but I did it all except the push ups. I’ve never been able to do press ups, even the modified…
  • Hi! I’m 2 months pp with second child, and did day 1 of 30DS today! Let’s do it together? How old are your other kids? My eldest has just turned 3. Life is manic with 2 kids, you must be going crazy with 3! 30 DS was amazing after my first was born, just hope I can stick with it this time.
  • At 112 lb my abs were visible (I’m 5ft 4). I’m back up to 123lb now after having another baby and they’re not visible
