SO's Mother: How about a slice of my homemade pie? Me: Yum! Yes, but make it a small slice SO's Mother: What's the matter? Don't you like my cooking?

I rarely eat a big breakfast: it makes me ravenous all day and I end up going over on cals.

Yes, they can vary a bit by the algorithm used but in order to get a TDEE of that number for a 39 year old woman who is 4'9" I had to put in a weight of around 50 lbs. I tried with a couple of different calculators. So now I'm curious, which one are you using and how much do you weigh if you don't mind sharing? Edit:…

I like to start my weekends right- with a couple Imperial pints of Guinness. Beyond that I play it by ear.

Every morning. The more data the better in my book because I like to plot stuff and make graphs and what not. Entertaining. I only enter my weight into MFP when I have a sustained loss.
-
OP, did you calculate your TDEE to be 1134, or are you thinking of your BMR? The BMR for a 4'9" 39 year old woman who weighs 92 lbs is 1133, the TDEE is 1360. I used this calculator based on the above hypothetical woman with a desk job. You can check your numbers, but you may be able to eat more than you think. The…

What are your maintenance calories? Looks like you are still eating under 1200/day typically? What were you eating to lose?
-
Enjoy! Just keep an eye on portion sizes and food choices. Make that your meal for the day and just have an evening snack or something light if you want to eat a big lunch.

No real planning, just keep the cupboards full of staples so I have on hand whatever I need as the mood strikes. I buy whenever stuff is on sale for future use. So, I just make whatever strikes me that day, with an eye to what perishables need to be eaten first. Once a week or so I buy fruit and veggies, and cook and/or…

Exercise. Even a little would help.

Just bought the book... about to embark.

Yep! A series of smaller goals will help get you there without your head exploding! :)

Yeah, I was more wondering if moderators would step in. May have, the profile isn't found anymore.

The recommended minimum number of calories to lose weight in a healthy way is 1200 per day for women; that is as low as MFP will calculate for you regardless of how much you need to lose.

This snack/dessert takes just a minute to put together. Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, a sprinkle of trail mix.

I'm a big fan of the cat nap. Can't eat while you're sleepin'! Works for me.

Thank you gentlemen. @rybo @pondee629

OP signed up as a 26 year old, so I'm guessing she knows (ignored) age restriction. Do mods take action on these?

Will you explain what you mean by "ruin" your diet?

Every morning before work. Wash and go, it's dry by the time I get to the office. No qualms about washing it more than once a day if I do something sweaty, after working under the car, whenever. Never have a problem with dry hair, but I also don't use any products or coloring in it, and said good bye to the blow drier in…

Thanks @Hearts_2015 I know these things, I just have a mental block about starting (and some really painful arthritis flares). I'll get over it. :)

Yes to the calorie limit. The macros are an indication of nutritional value.

On a related note, does whether or not you are doing weighted squats determine how deep you should go? I do bodyweight squats only at this point, about as deep as the pic. Curious if once I start adding weight the depth should decrease (assuming proper form in all cases).
-
Ah, looks like the user name change was the cause in your case; perhaps other people changed their names as well. Good to note.
-
I don't enjoy working out or exercising, so I don't (with the exception of some random things like squats). But I want to want to.

I don't have premium but coming off the weekend it's an easy pick- beer, french fries, tortilla chips.

I noticed this too, and with a couple other profiles in the past few days. Either people are posting a few then deleting their accounts or MFP is acting wonky.

Thanks @Wheelhouse15 I see some research in my near future.

Too many that are too personal to share. Those aside I will say that my experiences as a Peace Corps volunteer fundamentally changed my world view and who I am for the better. ETA two of my favorite related quotes: By Mark Twain: "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it…
