You look GREAT! Nicely done.

This was me too! Lost 60 lbs over the next year and kept it off for two more. Recently I've gained some back, and me and my reflection had words this morning. Back on MFP.

Edit: Nevermind... the interface has changed, recipes are entered differently now. Since this question was already asked, I won't start a new thread. I haven't tried to save a recipe in a long long while, and in trying to do so now, I see no way to save it. No save button. What the heck. I'm using the website on my laptop.…

Nothing. Not a peep, good or bad after losing 35-40 pounds. I'm pretty sure there was a noticeable difference between my weight of 185 and my weight of 145!

I lost about 35 pounds in about 8- 9 months by counting calories, and have maintained within 5lbs for over a year without doing so (but being mindful of what I'm eating). I need to count to lose (about to jump back in and shed another twenty), but like others have said, counting helps you learn portion sizes effect your…

Take a look at what you are eating now. Obviously it is too much or you wouldn't be gaining weight, right? A food scale is very helpful, but you can get a jump on losing weight by just eating smaller portions of what your currently eat, and cutting some things out all together.

Can you stand while working? I requested a Kangaroo stand from my employer so I can stand when I want to. I have my own office so I can stand there and kind of march in place or dance around while I'm typing to get some extra movement in. Sitting all day is just awful.

Curious, what is in that salad, just some lettuce and cucumbers or something? A couple of tablespoons of salad dressing alone could be that many calories. Add some. Throw some nuts and cheese on that puppy as well. Or some cooked quinoa. Put some kind of nut butter on the brown bread. Eat larger portions of the yogurt...

I found the best way to control snacking is not to have snack-able food in the house. You can't eat what isn't there. Seems like a no-brainer but I didn't immediately see the obvious. Aside from a banana or two and raw the veggies I use in recipes, there is usually nothing in my house that I can just grab and eat without…

I used to have terrible back pain! It started with bulging, then ruptured discs (L4-L5, L5-S1) but continued for years afterwards. I didn't notice any decrease in pain after losing about 30 pounds, but what DID help was when I started doing body squats. Over the course of a few months I worked myself up to four sets of 25…

I'm not a vegetarian but I don't eat much meat (mostly seafood if anything). I like Trader Joe's meatless italian sausage. I dice them up into marinara sauce, or slice into strips or circles and sear them. Great with eggs, or I cut them a bit smaller then mix in with veggies and rice. Very tasty, very satiating. I'll put…

Personally, I think this is a load of crap and a half. From a psychological perspective, perhaps there are implications, but not biologically to any significant degree. I'm always open to any shared science on the topic, however. Key word: science.

Wait... what!? Damn. Well done sir!
-
Omg, so much this!

Stopped weighing and logging my food, and managed to maintain my weight within a two pound range for six months. Anyway, back to logging now to lose a bit more.
-
Keep a low-cal beverage next to the bed and drink that instead of getting up.
-
Just. Keep. Going.

Huh. Not sure I would bring up my illness at that point to someone.

I've been clothes shopping in my own closet as a I lost weight, but I've hit a gap between sizes. Current ones are way too big (12), next size down that I have (8) are too tight. Need to drop at least five pounds before I can fit the next set of pants! Ack!

May I suggest cleansing your face with Witch Hazel? Get kind that has no alcohol in it. It's very soothing and cleansing and is an astringent which helps get rid of much of the oils that can clog pores but is also moisturizing (or at least doesn't dry out the skin). This was one of my grandmother's Life Pro Tips.

Losing was easy, maintaining was easy, but losing another 20 lbs to get under 130 I'm having a hard time getting back into the mindset. I lost 35 lbs easily in about eight months with just portion control (weighed/logged). I decided to stop logging and have maintained for six months (1-2 lb fluctuation). My maintenance…

Tell me about it! I've got a Blackberry running OS 10 which MFP didn't bother to make an app for, and the new BB smartphones run on ... Android. Doh!

For a bit of inspiration, do a Google search for Ernestine Shepherd. She didn't start lifting weights until she was in her 50's I think.

Crikey! Well done woman!

So far I've dropped from 182lbs down to 147 pounds (I'm 5'4")... just had my annual physical and my blood pressure is UP as well as my bad cholesterol. Were always normal before. I eat the same foods, just smaller portions. WTF??? Seriously?

A set of 50 *kitten* to ground body squats. The last fifteen are almost slow mo... but I'm doing it!

Except that boot cut generally maxed out at modest width, bell bottoms enjoyed no limits. The lines have been blurred however it seems; I tried on a pair of "boot cut" and they were ridiculously wide. :)

Is this a serious post?

Yeah, I imagine when I'm wearing appropriately sized jeans, they keys will not be lost... have belt loop attachment on standby. :)

Oh the dramz!!
