Good luck on your journey - you can do it! Slow and steady ... that's what I learned!! Healthier for you, easier to maintain and helps you re-establish your relationship with food. All the best!!

I agree with the others - eating out is likely the culprit. Could be that even if the calories may be in line, the sodium could be through the roof causing you to retain water weight. I too am on the road all day, but I have learned to pack a cooler bag with drinks, lunch & snacks - I log as I fill the bag!! I am working…

I completely understand ... it's always someone's birthday or some other lovely event but the challenge is still real. When left to my own defenses, I am on program ... everything is measured and I feel in control. It's when people want to go out to eat or there is an event. I know it may sound bad but if I can't control…

Hello! I am getting back to the gym now but I wanted to share that my weight loss journey began 3 months ago and being an accountant did nothing in those three months but sit on my behind and work - yet I still lost 30 pounds. The registered dietitian that I am seeing for nutritional guidance says that losing weight is…

Then I would see a doctor ... perhaps your body is not absorbing the calories and nutrients you are giving it. Best of luck!

Except in rare circumstances, NO ONE chooses to be obese or overweight and that is proven by the multi-billion dollar weight loss industry ...

NO ... it's discrimination. Should we charge based on age, nationality or better yet ... lower income individuals since we know it is more expensive to eat healthy?? Absolutely not ... but providing resources to programs that encourage healthier eating and fitness could help.

If you are watching what you eat - you choose the restaurant and do your homework first. Most restaurants post the nutritional info for their meals so you can plan in advance.

I can understand that you love your father and that you feel a responsibility to care for him but you must protect yourself and what your needs/wants are too! If I were in your situation, I would write him a very long letter (yes, letter - because you can say what you need to and won't cry or get upset). I would explain in…

I would recommend seeing a dietician, if possible. I do and she really got me on track. I was they type that didn't eat until evening and that damaged my metabolism. I am now eating more food than ever (the good, clean & nutritious foods I always ate) about every 3-4 hours and the weight is dropping off because my body is…

New Fun food is Mighty Muffins .... add some water and microwave .... delish at the end of the day and added protein too!!

I understand how you feel ... I am not a very patient person and frankly that impatience is why I am where I am now. I kept trying quick fix diets and now I have more to lose!! This time around I am working with a dietician and she is guiding me to becoming healthy. 3.6 pounds is certainly very good ... next time you are…

The biggest thing that helps me is following a 'clean eating' diet. before I consume anything I read the ingredient list and nutritional facts and if there are things I can't pronounce or tons of calories/fat/sodium ... I just won't eat it! But that said always keep acceptable snacks with you ... this helps control what I…

Hi Kim - I understand the frustration ... I was reading everything I could get my hands on and getting more frustrated by the minute since they seemed to contradict each other!!! The one thing I did, after trying all crazy diets, was to make an appointment with a Registered Dietitian and I finally feel like I am on target…
