My suggestion to losing weight is to not skip meals, eat plenty of protein, get plenty of sleep, drink water and move! Don't get frustrated, remember that you did not gain the weight over night. If you over eat one day, don't beat yourself up, just don't do it the next day. Love yourself and be patient with yourself.3

Don't go on a "diet." In other words, eat your regular foods but be accountable (measure & log). Losing weight is just the first step. Keeping the weight off takes a dedicated effort too. Eating the same foods you usually eat (instead of a list of do's & don'ts) will help you learn about your eating habits. Then tweak your choices as you figure out what needs to change.
Move more. Ideally you find an exercise you enjoy so you can be consistent and hopefully continue even after you get to goal. But anything you can do to get moving is a step in the right direction.2 -
The best way to do it is:
-Avoid processed foods
-Drink more water
-Do cardio before and after workouts
-Take L carnitine if you want but you dont need it because you can get that amount of weight till december easy
-Build more mucle (the more muscle you have, the easier it will be too burn fat)
-Remember to have fun because its the only way you won't give up0 -
I would recommend seeing a dietician, if possible. I do and she really got me on track. I was they type that didn't eat until evening and that damaged my metabolism. I am now eating more food than ever (the good, clean & nutritious foods I always ate) about every 3-4 hours and the weight is dropping off because my body is happy and fed. This is not a diet but a new way of life - current weight loss is 2-2.5 pounds/wk and I am okay with that
Patience is not something that comes easily for me but my previous attitude and ways got me overweight ... time to shake it up!!0 -
The number one sticky thread on MFP; well worth the read.

Meal timing is irrelevant
The relative processing of foods is irrelevant
Timing cardio and weights is irrelevant
Creatine is irrelevant
Losing weight comes from eating less than your base amount every day, but don't get extreme about it (no starving, no dieting).
Getting healthy has to do with lots of exercise and eating a variety of foods.
That's it.
Make it easier on yourself by eating the foods you like, carefully measured out, and by doing the activities you enjoy.
Weight loss is slow. Don't make it harder than it needs to be.0 -
What I love about this site is that I've learned a one size fits all "diet" doesn't exist. Some people like to eat 6 times a day. Some people like to eat once, like me. Some do keto some like to eat what they like just smaller amounts. I think that everyone would agree that eating within your calories by weighing and logging all your food, is key to weight loss success. Also most people say to only eat back half the exercise calories. The forums are a wonderful resource to learn about different ways people have found success. Good Luck to you on your journey0
