  • Thanks! He's really embracing this WOE which makes it much easier on me when we are meal planning. We have started switching on and off weeks as far as who's job it is to meal plan, prepare, and clean up. It's been amazing. We're going on a Disney cruise next month and we have reservations for brunch at Palo. Last night…
  • Man, that's awful. I've had some close calls of my own, but that's all fortunately. It really wreaks havoc with my system so I try to be good. If I slip, I pay. The cramping is almost worse than the diarrhea in my opinion. :/
  • This is advice I should follow, but here goes... Pre weigh your foods to make it easier. I for example, like to treat myself to sunflower seeds- 30 grams. I should put them into 30 gram portions in little bags to make it a quick grab and go. I dont, and then I "guesstimate" when I'm in a hurry- which we all know is a…
  • I ran into a similar issue when making an omelette. I love, love, love the tomatoes. I ended up weighing a carb portion I could handle and then finely chopping them to sprinkle in my food.
  • Thank you for sharing. I too have had co-workers not accept the seriousness of my disease. Once when they were going to order in they wanted to order from an Asian restaurant that I was unfamiliar with. I told them I had dietary restrictions because I was T2 and striving to be medication free. One of the girls said "I'm a…
  • My husband and I just watched Fed Up, and it brought me to tears seeing these young people struggling with CICO. The self loathing and misery was really hard to watch. Society says work harder, exercise, put the fat down... and these kids and their families are TRYING to do the right thing. A 15 year old kid should not…
  • Thanks- I will keep it in perspective. :)
  • Thanks! I'll cut back to 4 and see if that helps. I did LCHF last summer but I didn't do any supplements or extra sodium. I want to jump start this correctly. I'll also wait to up my magnesium to 400 for another week or so.
  • If I do it makes me sick. Literally sick. IBS and legarthy for 8-12 hours. So now I might indulge in a small treat, like a square of chocolate, but I make myself fit it into my macros.
  • Thanks! I'll look it up.
  • This^ Not just breakfast either.... how many hours until I can have a snack? I should go to bed early otherwise I might binge right before bed..... It's painful how focused I was on food and how guilty I felt because of it.
  • I started in June 2016 after I was told my surgery was a no go due to my A1C being 9.2. In September after 3 months of LCHF it went down to a 7!! I got off of my meds. Weight loss was minimal, about 10 pounds, but that was not my priority. I got really sick and started slacking on tracking, so now I'm back, and working…
  • Hello! I'm Cim. 34 mother of two girls, 2 and 10. I left teaching this last year and got my loan originators license- I'm really enjoying the change. It's been so much less stressful and I feel more valued- added bonus> I can go to the bathroom when I want! I have a few chickens and will be expanding my flock in June. I'm…
  • Awesome! I tried steaming some and was not impressed. I'll try this next time.
  • I'm in too B) CW 185 Next milestone 179 GW 150 Got really sick and then got lazy with tracking and being active. Looking forward to feeling accomplished at the end of each day. :)
  • Thanks everyone. I have, but I get the it will get better with time or you need surgery. Depending on their personal school of thought. It's been 2.5 years since my c-section and I'm done waiting. I'm going to start slow, but I need to start. I hope to have the surgery next winter- but I want to do as much internal repair…
  • No what I was hoping to hear, but it confirms what I already suspected. Thank you. It's like I need a strong core to do the exercises to not look all pudgy in the middle, but I have to avoid the exercises to give me a stronger core. I have legs like a runner and the torso of a postpartum woman. :/
  • Thanks for the recommendations! I will be making a list. I'm going to try that podcast too. ;)
  • I put on a light jacket today and instead of it being tight over my belly- making me look 6 months pregnant- it didn't stick to my belly at all and hung down from my boobs like it should! And... My nine year old asked me if I was gong to go work out "because you work out all the time now mom." Made me feel so great!

  • We consistently walk that length with ours. I personally think you will be fine. If it gets to be too much, just walk and enjoy the experience with your daughter. She won't care how quickly you finish.
  • Consider adjusting your macros. More fat and protein, less sugar works for me. Not hungry, fairly active and at 1200ish cal/day. Fruit, while nutritious, is a killer for me. However, diet is a very individualized beast. You have to do what works for you. Maybe shoot for 1400? You are still at a deficit, just not a large…
  • I'm curious as well.
  • I recently joined the low carb group (The Low Carber Daily Forum- LCD) and there are a ton of resources there. You should check it out- lots of people on keto diets and modified low carb. This is a great place to ask questions. Best of luck!
  • My husband and I were discussing this last week. I hate the term "cheat day"- it makes it automatically seem like something you should feel guilty for. Last week he had what we are now calling a "splurge day." And to be honest it slowed progress, but he was able to move on without the "I just blew my diet" guilt. Everyday…
  • Holy crap! That is amazing!! You don't even look like a relative to yourself! Great job on all the hard work!
  • I have hypo. Something I learned is that iodine is key to thyroid function. Because of the trend toward sea salt and away from iodized table salt, most of us are iodine deficient. Find a way to get enough of it and keep taking you meds. It can be a VERY long process to fine tune the correct dosage. Don't give up!
  • I think you look great in the before and the after ;) Great Job!!
  • Cheese, butter, meat of all kinds. Yum! ;)
  • I'm doing that in T-4 pounds! It's my first mini goal. I am so excited!! Congrats!! It is a huge deal. :)
