I got my leggings and got my first measurements
So they don't go as high on my torso as I would like, but it's a good starting point.

Am I understanding this right?
So I wanted to see if I was getting the sodium I needed and when I went to Nutrients it showed Carbohydrates (15) which is reflected in my Macros as (15) but then it shows Sugar (6). Shouldn't that be (21) overall? Why would it count it separately?

Like a Glove- anyone try them?
I ordered a pair thinking they will help me track measurements and progress. Anyone try them? What were your thoughts?

1500 calories in bacon today...
So...I had bacon with every meal. Lol. My "other" calories were about 800... mostly eggs and cheese. I did get a sugar free latte- but the milk had carbs. I will say I feel really great. I can't do this everyday, but it was tasty. I'm going to be traveling tomorrow so I'll need to pack some snacks.

Husband experienced the wrath of carbs!
He has been listening to me preach keto for a long time and just watched the documentary Fed Up a week ago. Lowered his carbs to >10%. Then his company ordered subway, and he ate a sandwich. About an hour later I was informed about all of the horrible time he was spending in the bathroom. Yeah... you ate like 60g of carbs…

I'm trying...ugh.
I'm trying not to loose my sanity. I got very little/no sleep. What I did get I was drenched in sweat and I was alternately burning up and freezing. That was my MO when I had high blood sugars. The battery is dead on my glucose monitor- another win. My daughters puppy had an accident in his crate. Not his fault- mine. I…

Water weight question
I increased my sodium up to 5-6g and started taking Chelated Magnesium 200mg. I've also increased my water intake significantly. I'm sure my body is in a hydrated happy place, which is great- I've always struggled with hydration. I've gained about 3 lb in the last few days, and I'm assuming it's water weight. My question…

Move goal- apple watch
So my move goal was a little over 600 when I was fairly active back in September. I could even almost double it some days. When I restarted my fitness routine I realized that there was no way I was going to hit 600. It really upset and demoralized me. So... I changed my goal. All the way down to 250. After a week of…

Favorite Keto- Cookbook?
I would like to get a keto cookbook, but there are so many out there it seems. I have found recipes online, but I like to flip through a cookbook. We end up putting most of our favorites into our paprika app, but I like real books. We like to do slow-cooker meals on weekdays and I'm open to more complicated prep on the…

Diastasis recti and core strengthening
I was supposed to have corrective surgery last June for my abdominal wall issues- but my blood sugar was too high for surgery. I have since worked hard enough to not only lower my blood sugar, but get off of medication completely. I primarily use a recumbent bike to get my workouts in- avoiding stressing my abs. I want to…

So freaking happy!
June 21st I did an a1c and my levels came back 9.8 I started watching carbs like crazy and joined this group. Mid July I ran out of metformin, and could not get my Dr to refill or reset an appointment. So I just kept watching carbs + exercising. My fasting glucose continued to drop. My birthday, the end of August I got an…

First year without a birthday cake
So my ultimate cake love is carrot cake... I asked everyone to not get me one and requested my husband make bacon and cream cheese poppers instead. We made half of them with little sweet pepper and half with green chili- I had to use them up so we skipped using jalapeños. So while I went over on my calorie goal I came in…

Book recommendations
I'm looking for good book recommendations about health/fitness/diet. I would like them to be research based but I don't want to feel like I'm reading a thesis. I was thinking of "Grain Brain" to start. Any other suggestions and the reason why you would recommend it would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Donated blood today
I just got back and I am so glad a got a partial workout before I went. :) I'm doing ok, but every "snack" item they had was just carb cakes and bags of sugar. At least that's what they look like through my eyes. Lol. Going to eat some cheese and lounge on the couch for awhile.

My dr refused to do surgery because of my a1c- but it's been the best thing for me
I was scheduled to have abdononoplasty July 13. When my dr got my pre op labs (3weeks prior) he told me that because my a1c was a 9.2 I was too high risk. Now I'm sharing this for a few reasons- which I will get into shortly. I just want to give some background. In 2007 I got gestational diabetes and was diagnosed at 30…

New to fitness- questions about cardio and strength training.
Hello. For probably the first time in my life I don't hate the idea of exercise. In fact, I'm quite enjoying challenging myself to improve. I've learned how to push through the discomfort and fatigue that has always stopped me before. I started exceptionally slow and have built up my cardio almost daily. From 10 minutes to…

Pre-surgery weight loss as a diabetic.
Hello! I am a diabetic with hypothyroidism. (Fun times!) Anyway, my BMI has me in the "Overweight" column. I am 5'8" and 188 (now). I am planing on loosing 20-26 pounds before my surgery July 14th. As a diabetic, I have higher risks for post-op issues... especially if I am overweight. My goal is to get to the "Normal"…
