  • I’d have to look at my stats for average cadence, I’ve never been coached on a bike but I would gladly take a coach if I could find one. I would say on hills my average cadence is 70 and your saying lower gear and up cadence to 85-100. This is do able as I have “virtual gears” but putting it into practice on a 13% gradient…
  • It’s for sure muscle fatigue, I’m caught between wanting to climb more and increasing my ftp while losing weight. I’m not lost but i am confused on how to progress, in the last month I’ve added 20 watts to my FTP of 195. Not bad for a beginner so I’ll take any improvement I get. I’ve gotten a lot of good advice as far as…
  • Thank you everything for the responses, to be clear I’m on a smart bike indoors on Zwift for training. My technique is poor because I am using low cadence to get up the hills but yesterday after 20 minutes of straight climbing at low cadence I was completely gassed after. I’m trying to get my average wattage up as well, it…
  • I’ve added a few already but anyone is welcome to add me, I’m active daily and my diary is open!
  • Add me if you like I’m active daily trying to drop at least 30 or 40 pounds and 10 by my birthday (late July)
  • I almost bought one but I felt bad for my road bike sitting in the corner so I’m now cycling outside and I am loving it! Sorry
  • Add me I could use the motivation! I’m trying to do the same thing, I’m cycling and trying to track everything (work in progress always) let’s do it!!
  • Yes this is true I have a hard time logging over the weekends and this last one didn’t go well. To be honest I really thought with cycling I could offset the calories over weekends, provided I don’t go way overboard, since I don’t eat them back. This is a bad thought I will track weekends and the cheat meal I have per…
  • I’ve seen that chart, I weigh everything on a good scale, oils I use a measuring spoon. Agree about the carbs just trying not to eat them for health no so much caloric reasons. It’s been about a month since starting dieting and cycling wondering at this point what could be my stalling points
  • Open and free to add me!
  • I don’t know what life would be without carbs, being an ametuer athlete (rugby) I need carbs to have energy. Plain and simple I’ve tried the slow carb diet (the four hour body) and was successful but gained it all back just because it was basically torture
  • I agree with above post about 1-2 pounds per week. I’m in the same boat and have lost 5.5 pounds in the last 25 days it may seem slow but I like my diet and I like the gym routine I’m doing. If I can see a slow steady decline in weight and better body composition to hit my goals I will stick with it, in the end it’s ho…
  • Anyone is free to add me for motivation, support, or just a like. I’m on every single day!!
  • 1780 per day and I thought about reducing to 1680 because MFP said to haha. I do feel hungry sometimes but I'm switching to more protein dense foods instead of carbs. And if exercise and lifting is the case then I won't change anything
  • Thanks everyone for the responses
  • Thank you!
  • I think the reason I'm at 2300 calories is I e been gaining a lot of muscle from my workouts, having more muscle burns more calories, I may 231 but I just 19% body fat and I started at 23% so I can contribute the calorie thing to that. I was told when I started my TDEE was around 2000 and I'm very active so that's the…
  • I weigh 232.5 about and I'm 6'2". My weight has been fluctuating all over in the last month and my lowest weight was 229.5. My trouble with last week is I never go on trips like that so I didn't know what to do. As far as previous weeks I thought I hit my macros and colored almost dead on. The calorie intake has been…
  • Sent a friend request, I'm trying to achieve the same goals, right now I've dropped about 5% body fat and below 20% I'm lifting and doing lots of sprinting during the week (training for the upcoming rugby season) I've hit a snag and stopped dieting the last 3 weeks. What did your diet look like? Could you take a look at my…
  • Support from the community made me more strong willed and it's only been 35 days!
  • No walking is not a waste of time. I walk, I run, but if I couldn't run I would walk for 30 minutes on an incline if you're able to. Walking is great along with any exercise its better than doing nothing

  • Anyone can add me I'm active daily
  • Added anyone is welcome to add me as well!
  • Added I'm active daily and happy to give motivation on lifting or whatever you need
  • Hey man! I just want to start off and say no matter what your goals are, if you slip up its no big deal because it's a long term journey, don't ever think for a minute that if you mess up once that you can fall off and not track your food anymore, I made that mistake when I started a long time ago but I know and I've been…
  • Added! I'm actually active daily and will all the support I can!
  • Added I'm active on MFP daily
  • Added it's easy to get carried away and forget about calories believe me I've been there more than once, we can do this no problem!
  • Congrats!! Like you I've tried everything too, paleo, nutrisystem and they all failed because there was of "trying" but MFP holds you to it and let's you see the hard numbers very effective
