  • I want in! I've done Jillian Micheal's in the past with great success. But I've fallen off the wagon more than once. I'm now back on this app after being gone for about a year and I've been doing the 30 Day Shred for a month and 5 days (I've lost 11 pounds). Clearly I'm spending more than 30 days on the program but Level 2…
  • I've tried alertan1's recipe (with quinoa). It is delicious, hot or cold.
  • Jillian Michaels for sure. Her tried & true 30 Day Shred is on YouTube. You want to be toned, she'll get you there.
  • I tossed my scale out once. When I bought a new one & stepped on it I was much MUCH heavier than I thought I was. I understand your dilemma but don't throw it out just make it less accessible so that daily weigh-ins become too much of a pain (but weekly ones are possible). My suggestion---put it in the trunk of your car.
  • Roasted veggies. They are nutritious, easy to prepare & has a variety of flavored. I love root veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes, etc) red onions, Brussels sprouts, etc. Quinoa is also great b/c you can eat it hot or cold and all kinds of veggies and beans into it. It works really well for meal prep. Use muffin tins to…
  • You might research Pilates, particularly the legwork involved in this particular exercise. It's also really great to stretch and lengthen the body & promote flexibility
  • I haven't & I've started to lose weight. Note: if I overindulge (more than 2 glasses of wine for instance) it does effect my endurance in my workout the following day. Preliminary research suggests it has to do with the way the body metabolizes alcohol. That said, I make room for wine & cocktails in my calorie allotment.…

  • Make room for it in your calorie allotment. One glass a day has also been proven to have health benefits. Enjoy!
  • You guys are awesome! I was already looking at the Taylor & almost purchased it but wanted to know what others thought. I also have several OXO kitchen products but I haven't checked out their scale. This is all so helpful. Thanks so much for your help; I will narrow my search to just these products (sans The Sharper…
  • I just rewarded myself (for a month on MFP, working out & watching my calories) with a new workout outfit and some new Dumbbells. I had an early reward as well-- I purchased a mandolin; beautifully cut veggies are veggies I REALLY want to eat. At present, I'm trying to make my rewards health/fitness related but in a way…
  • I don't know for certain but I would bet good money that more people (on this site) feel this way than you think! I certainly understand. I feel this way sometimes. I can only say what is working for me (at the moment) is cooking every single one of my meals. When I cook, I give as much thought & importance to nutrition as…
  • Georgia; currently in Colorado by way of North Carolina
  • Yeah, you have to measure it. I still reserve calories for wine & cocktails. Logging it makes you aware of just how many calories you are expending for drinks. I will say, when you get hungry enough and/or you workout enough, your intake of calories from beverages (alcoholic or otherwise) will decrease. But I do insist on…
  • I'm having the same issue but we have a running specialty store in my town (people here are seriously health conscious). I'm going to make a visit and get their assistance. See if your city/town has a similar place and go let people with experience help you out. I will say that Brooks brand has a great reputation for…
  • I agree with others that something Is better than nothing. I will add though that I recently read an article that emphasized the importance of prioritizing your workout. This was an important assertion for me; it mean that if I didn't make the workout a priority then I would have no reason to adhere to making it a part of…
  • Try raw cherries about 1/2 hour before you go to bed. Besides being good, & healthy, they have melatonin that help regulate sleep.
  • You lost two whole pounds in a week! Congratulations!
  • Add me! I believe in multiple sources of motivation, especially on days when I want to "rest." I find this site & my little collection of friends AWESOME for that purpose.
  • You can add me! I could also use the motivation.
  • Very well done! This is definitely an inspiration.
  • I'm just starting on my weight lose journey; came to this forum for motivation. Your journey certainly fit the bill. Congratulations on your weight loss! You must feel awesome & healthy!
  • Hi Mike! Welcome. Feel free to add me.
  • This has happened to me. I went for a long walk instead of the previous day's exercise. It loosened up my muscles and I got in a workout
  • Hello. Welcome!
  • If it's terribly painful, you might want to see a physical therapist or a chiropractor. Otherwise, you can check YouTube for physical therapist recommended exercises to stretch & strengthen the lower back. I just found one for this precise reason & the stretching felt WONDERFUL!
  • Some days I do a 20 minute Pilates DVD prior to a walk. I don't think this is particularly difficult & I do the Pilates mainly to get a good stretch prior to walking. Not sure if you were thinking something more aggressive but I think this is good to usher me back into good health
  • Same thing happened to me & people on this site encouraged me not to "rest". I went for a long walk & came back & took a long hot bath (Epsom salt, sea salt, lavender & Rosemary essential oils, & baking soda). The next day I was back at my workout. Point: move, don't "rest."
  • Feel free to add me. I'm pretty new still but I log everyday.
