I love everything about this post. What an inspiration! And great pictures. :)

I find that whole grain english muffins with a smear of pb2 (powdered peanut butter) really fill me, and it's 135ish calories
-
Chef_Barbell, you're really not missing that much!

My tae kwon do uniform is too big! I put it on the other night and thought it was my husband's. But we're testing for our black belts in October, so I'll just tough it out until then--hopefully I'll be wearing a new black belt dobok in October!

Is that Crystal Palace? That's the best! You know what else is the best?? YOU!! Nicely done. :)

I don't track or worry about what I eat on special occasion days like holidays or trips. However, now that I have changed my eating habits, I have a lot better idea of how much I *should* eat, and I get full a lot faster, so even a blow off day is nothing like what it would have been for the "old me!" Even if I am not…

whole wheat english muffin (100 cals) + 12g chocolate pb2 (45 cals) is my go-to breakfast. Honestly, sometimes it makes me too full! And for lunch, I often have this: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/235295/curried-butternut-squash-soup/ It's so good, and super light on calories. Skip the sour cream, you don't need it.

I'm the same way. Eating low carb, I never feel full. Add a bit of rice or some other carb (preferably whole grain), and I'm good to go. Not a lot--just enough. I've been wondering this for a while, and I've been afraid to ask about it! (Hand slapped too many times by crazy anti-carb MIL...) I'm glad it's not just me. :)

I have a GREAT curried butternut squash soup recipe. I use this one to work from: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/235295/curried-butternut-squash-soup/ I don't put in the cream--you don't need it. I have homemade chicken stock all the time in the freezer, so I use that, and honey is negotiable. And OMG don't peel and cut up…

I wore the pants I wore to my bridal shower in 2000. They will be too big next time I pull them out, I think!

This is the exact thing I was coming to ask about. Can anyone comment on the accuracy of this? Do you feel this is a good method? I assume MFP rounds to the nearest gram? So my recipe could be 1.49 calories per gram and it would still be counted as 1? Does this bother anybody? Looking for wisdom/experience on the total…

bebeisfit, I didn't see your post! You cook like I do. :) Take whatever you have in the house and throw it in the pot.

I made curried butternut squash soup the other night. But I don't do strict recipes. Here's the best I can do for you: Cut a butternut squash in half, scrape out the seeds, salt it, and put it face down on a cookie sheet in a hot oven (anywhere from 350-400 degrees) until it's soft. I had acorn squashes lying around, so I…

Nice. I have to say that the first 15-17 pounds made a HUGE difference in how I felt. I felt so much lighter on my feet! Hope you're having the same experience. Congratulations!

Well done! I've lost about 30 too, and it's worth being proud of. :)

That is cool! After so many doom and gloom media stories about the odds of keeping off lost weight, it's nice to see your hard work and maintenance getting some attention.

When you're closet shopping, sometimes (if you're really really lucky) you'll find an old pair of pants with money in the pockets, and you won't have to go to the ATM to pay the babysitter! WOO!

Do you save your bones for stock? You can simmer it on the stove or in the crockpot for several hours with veggie trimmings or leftovers. Then cook beans and/or rice in it for a meal that costs pennies and fills your belly for not too many calories. Or freeze for later. I save every bone that comes out of my kitchen. If I…

I'll do it! I'll have to start tomorrow though.... I need to look up how to do a plank first! :)

Great job! My goal is to hit it by Halloween, which is......close. And so am I! 200.0 for the past two mornings. :)

I wouldn't comment specifically on someone's weight unless we were in private and it was someone I knew pretty well. I do say to people, "Hey, you look great!" If they've lost weight, they'll know what I mean and be happy about it. If they didn't, then at least I've given them a nice (and true!) compliment! I have lost 30…

Here's what helped me be ok with throwing away leftovers: "It's wasted in your stomach just as much as it's wasted in the garbage because you don't need the calories." I try to save them for another time as much as I can because I HATE to waste! (My fridge is filled with half bagels with one bite out of them and my kids…

Congratulations! I started at 231 at Easter and am one pound away. My original goal was <200 by Halloween, and I think I'll be able to make that happen!
-
Yep! Same here. I don't have a weight goal, I have a calorie amount that I think I can eat forever and still enjoy my life. Will have to log consistently pretty much forever to maintain any semblance of weightloss.

Great post! Good for you for taking control of your health!
-
I eat about 200 for dinner, 4-500 for lunch, and I like to leave a lot for dinner (around 1000) so that I have something to look forward to. :)

I like it. Me too.

Interesting. Yes, the time thing would be a problem. When I (re-)started on mfp, I didn't have a goal weight. I used a couple different TDEE formulas (I don't eat back exercise calories), and arrived at a calorie goal that I thought would allow me to lose weight, but also enjoy my life. 1700. I figured, eat at 1700 for a…
