I'm posting this article a lot today...I don't know if this might help? http://www.muscleforlife.com/?s=lose+skin

First, congrats on your recovery. It's a long road and I've been there too. 20 years of various eating disorders (anorexia and then binging and purging through exercise and restriction) and two kids had my weight ranging anywhere from 110 to 170 in my adult life. I think that weight lifting could definitely help you,…

Hi - not sure if you're talking to me? If so, thank you, first of all. I'm about 122 lbs in the second picture and 15.1% body fat (gotten from a bod pod - so not 100% accurate). I'm 5' 6".

Carbs and fat are good for you!

It would help to know the answers to the questions above. If you're trying to lose fat, then your 2 - 2.5k calories might be too much. If you're trying to gain muscle and not worrying about gaining fat then you could be on the right track, but you'd then have to cut again to get close to those pictures.

YES!!! And then they watch to see if you're taking their advice!

Nope, not bulky!

I always do almond milk with whey right after my morning workout, then have a bigger breakfast when I get to work. For the past couple weeks it's been egg whites, 2 slices turkey bacon, and a 100 calorie container of wholly guacamole all wrapped in a Lavash flatbread. I also like any kind of chocolate overnight oats recipe.

^^^ What they said. If you want to build muscle you want to be lifting heavy with progressive overload. There are tons of books/references out there. I read Thinner, Leaner, Stronger by Michael Matthews (geared towards women who want to build muscle) and it was really helpful to me as a beginner.
-
^^^ What he/she said. There aren't enough calories in pre-workouts to take you out of a fasted state.

Hi! Check out this article on "why the scale lies." http://www.healthdiscovery.net/articles/scale_lies.htm

Little Sister is my favorite Queens of the Stoneage song. I need more cowbell!!!
-
I definitely listen to music while lifting, but always listen to a book on Audible while doing cardio. I HATE cardio and need something to get lost in.
-
Great job!

Take all the stuff you've learned those other 49 times and put them to use - you've got this!!!
-
Check out the book Bigger, Leaner, Stronger by Michael Matthews - it's one option for a starting place.

Oh, yes, Taubes is a real guy with lots of "scientific evidence." I HAVE to believe that that poster was being sarcastic. I just HAVE to!

Better than Jail Bait, I always say.

I was totally kidding about the muscle, but not the binge and weight gain. It's been a year since I've done anything like that and it's awesome that I can have moments like that, though, and bounce right back without going into a shame spiral. Moving on....

You are amazing and you look healthy and happy!

Plan your meals (ALL your meals) a week ahead of time and food prep. Make a recipe that serves 6, for example, and put each serving in individual containers so that you've got 6 meals prepared for the week. When you get home at 1 am it's there waiting for you. Bring your own snacks and meals to work with you. Preparation,…

Thank you!

Thanks! How long have you had them?

Also, how long have you had them? I just read some review and, same problem, several people said they just stopped working after 6 months.

FUN! Hi all! I'm 40 - I lift weights 5 days/week and throw in HIIT. I'm at maintenance now, but will be bulking for the first time this fall (yikes - next month).
-
Thanks!
-
Right - guys (and girls) in the gym are helpful like that. You just have to get over your shyness (if that's a problem).

I'm 40. Not new to eating well and working out, but newish to MFP.
