Welcome Greeshma and Steve! Congratulations on losing some weight ahead of time and coming into OMAD with such positive outlooks. :)

Yes! I have a long torso and can't find pretty one pieces that go up far enough. . Wearing a modest hip hugger type 2 piece bikini or tankini in public is my goal. I want to look good for annual 4th of July pool party this upcoming summer. That should give me enough time!

The pearl necklace and earrings do work perfectly. I especially love those gloves!

Back to "mindful" eating. I know that my problem during the holidays is that I stopped thinking about being a careful meal planner. I always do better by making things in advance or planning. I'm back on track and am working on planning carefully and making good choices. Last night hubby and I were watching one of the food…

^OP, this. In other words, if you desire to get "smaller" (lose inches off of arms, legs, abdomen, etc), which is what most women want to do when they have gained fat mass and want to lose it, you have to go into a calorie deficit. Unfortunately, if you do not take precautions at the same time, you will lose muscle mass as…

I'm very glad that you are staying. I lost one of the pounds I gained over the holiday. I am hoping that most of the recent holiday gain is water weight.
-
I haven't been doing as much exercise during the holiday season. I'm working in this. It will help to ramp up activity level.

I started taking SAM-e (OTC Walmart) as well as Vitamin C, B-Complex, and multivitamin. I've been feeling better. So I do believe we can get depleted. I've also added selenium which is supposedly good also.

Good point

Wow! I'm happy for you. Well not for the constipation but for finding out about the vitamin D and losing weight part. :)
-
Hi Ram! You can do this. That is nice you and Bob have similar goals. It makes it easier to have an accountabuddy who can relate to what you are going through.
-
Welcome Brenda. Wow, you are doing terrific. 36 pounds lost is a lot!
-
Hello Fly! Keep us updated. Welcome to Omad. :)
-
I'll try the vitamin D also. Thanks for the video. Congrats losing weight and finding a solution. Are you getting constipated from iron supplement?
-
I've been getting itchy skin (which I never had before). Hmmm. My blood sugar went wonky over the last few years also. Maybe I'll go take a look at that website!
-
I agree with Courtney. Look at you! You look fabulous. Just choose clothes that fit your proportions and body type. I took a wardrobe class when I was about 29 years old and discovered that a lot of what I thought were negatives were actually desirable positives.

Nice loss!

You have an adorable tummy and should be proud of yourself. Tip #1 I would say instead of trying to fit into a bikini arbitrarily, you should pick out a bikini that fits you! Don't go too small of a size (bikini sizing runs small so you will need a bigger size than you normally wear). Tip #2 is to chose a style that hits…

The nuts have healthy fats as long as you don't go overboard in the calories. Chocolate does impact mood and ups "feel good" endorphins. I occasionally do grab a handful of nuts or a square of chocolate. I buy the dark chocolate as it has less sugar and doesn't prompt a trigger for more.
-
Anneli, are you eating enough healthy fats? I find if I go too low in fats I get hunger cravings. Maybe you could play around with macro percentages to see if it helps?
-
My goal for January is to monitor calories better. I also want to eat as nutritionally as I can for improved well being. I haven't felt well with products that use refined flour and sugar. So I'm cutting these two out as much as possible.

Joe talks about the sense of wellbeing that comes when fasting and getting through the adjustment period. Is this what you mean about "hunger high"? Or do you get a high after being hungry and eating sweets? These would be two entirely different things. Some people talk about "runners' high". But I have not gotten to that…

You lost almost two pounds a week for 4 months on average. The weight loss slows down as you lose weight. It is likely to slow to 1 pound a week for a time and then down to 0.5 pound a week or less for the last few pounds. What is your TDEE? What is your deficit? Every 10 pounds lost you have to recalculate TDEE and adjust…

At least you are nipping it in the bud and reversing the small gain before it snowballs.

Welcome back! :)

I've heard that even if you do get some sagging that it can firm up within a year. I usually get a bit of a "squishy" tummy when the fat comes out initially. But then it flattens out if I don't quickly refill them and maintain the loss for some time afterward. If you do get some sagging try not to let that deter you from…

I also think that it is terrific that you managed to maintain. I wish that had happened to me. I hope we all lose at least a pound this week too!
-
It is very frustrating. Last year I managed to maintain, but this year I gained. The difference is that I stayed on a diet through the holidays a year ago. But this year I switched from lowish carb to high carb and was not as mindful or careful.
-
I hope you feel better soon! I felt lousy after the holidays also. Don't give up and start right back up.

Hooray!
