It is extremely difficult for me to lose weight. So what would take a normal dieter a couple months to lose takes me a year. Bah

How have you been doing? Happy New Year!

I hope he is on the "gaining weight" board and has been actively gaining.

Super! You are adjusting quickly!

True! I've always had chipmunk cheeks and a "baby face" even when I was thinnest.

Hey Janey! I'm glad you are doing well in spite of the UTI. You sound serious and won't let things get in the way of your success.

Pauleta, that is fabulous that you have fat adapted so easily.

Yaay! We will do this. B)

That happens to me when I eat at a restaurant. It takes me 3 days to de-puff.

I find coconut oil really settles my stomach (antimicrobial) as well as eating healthy fats. You might have the pylori bacteria in your stomach? Definitely try a brief diet break and see a physician.

That is less than 2 pounds up. It will pop back off if you maintain deficit.

My face stays pudgy even when I lose weight. Stomach is last to go for me.

{{Encouraging}} news and great to hear that you got right back to normal weight loss management and did so well last year! I'm reading this thread with people sharing similar experiences and know in my heart that everything's going to be all right!

Walking at lunchtime is clever. You will do great!

Welcome!

Oops. I say "Kudos". I say it to mean "good for you", but likely I'm using the word improperly? Or I'll say, "You look great." So I guess if someone doesn't like to hear that they can ignore me, and I will understand why now.

I hope your back feels better soon, Linda.

I love it when people complement on an outfit I'm wearing or the shape I'm in for my age. For instance, I had on a cute dress the other day and got stopped several times by random people saying I looked adorable in it. I just smiled and replied, "Thank you very much!" It is fun to dress up once in a while.

Nice. Your confidence and self assurance is probably what is keeping people civil. Unless you were the one to bring it up, then it is obviously private information. "I'd rather not discuss it" is a fine reply to those who are nosy or pry --(or ignoring as you successfully do).

We were away on vacation also. I'm getting back on track too. Happy New Year! Welcome back!

I do think some of it is water weight. I did get bloating from reintroducing simple carbs and sugars. I'm planning to go back to low carb which will see a quick water loss hopefully.
-
That is terrific!

Most people who comment also want to lose weight like you and know how difficult it is. So they are complimenting a terrific accomplishment. Try not to look at it as a derogatory statement about your past size. They aren't looking at it that way in all likelihood.

I would be thrilled and feel great 10 pounds slimmer than I am now. Once I get to that goal I always can reassess to see if I want to drop any more. But I would be happy to get 5 pound under goal so I have some fluctuation room.

I feel optimistic for 2017!

I'm originally from Virginia, and i remember that my grandma made delicious homemade chicken and dumplings when I was a child. I'm fortunate though that my mom was trim and served us very basic, simple, plain foods while we were growing up. So at least I have that as a blueprint. However, I used to love going to my…

My BFF lives in SC. She lives in Columbia, SC. Does that count?

That is normal at the beginning. I get a dull headache when I eat low carb also. But it does go away. You might want to eat more salt and drink more water as you can get dehydrated and lose electrolytes due to the water whoosh down.

I see a delay with either gaining or losing. It doesn't show immediately for me. December showed a gain, unfortunately in my case. :(
