I'm thinking of training for a century ride. Currently, I use my mountain bike for my rides, even the long ones. But I know I'll have to buy a road bike for a century. I am looking at a triathlon bike. Would you recommend a triathlon bike or just a regular road bike for a century?

Just switching over to more biking/less gym. Just more enjoyable. I like the breeze, change of scenery, and the idea of going somewhere. But I hate that MFP says a 10mph ride is "leisurely." Sure feels like more effort than that! July 6: 11.26 miles 10.62mph avg July 14: 17.68 miles 10.40mph avg July 16: 11.89 miles…

My reward when I hit 50 pounds will be a pair of expensive sunglasses. And to once again fit into the expensive jeans I already have. I think I will reward myself with a vacation for reaching my ultimate goal.

Sounds like you are a lot of carbs. Carbs make you feel good.

I would recommend being open with your prescriber about your concerns about your med contributing to weight gain. You can always discuss changing your med to one that doesn't have such an impact on appetite.

Is it nutritional enough as a stand alone meal replacement?

I like enough milk in my cereal to get it all soaked, but not soggy. 3/4 cup does fine. I give what I don't consume to my dog. Nothing wasted. And I just count calories for the 3/4 cup and use it as a buffer.

I know! Isn't that weird? I had a 0.2 gain Tuesday, then a 1.5 loss today. You really have become a speed walker! Stick with it and remember your non-scale victories!

Sometimes I snack, most days not. If I do, it will be on a Tuesday because I won't get a chance to eat dinner until about 8pm because of my work schedule. Other than the Tuesday snack, I don't have the time to take a snack break at work.

I had lost some weight about 10 years ago. Was about 190 and got down to about 155. That's probably the lowest I've ever weighed as an adult. I was comfortable at that weight, but still felt like I could lose more weight. 140 is at the top of the normal range for bmi.

Sw: 228 Cw: 206 Gw: 140ish (though I would probably be ok with 155-160)

Does it count that running the 5k at the Highland games is on my bucket list?

I can measure out a cup of fruit, but when I weigh it, that cup of fruit turns out to be almost twice the calories. So weighing could actually help you out a lot.

I know someone who has gallbladder issues and even after having it removed, can't process certain foods or large amounts of foods (e.g. lettuce). See your doctor.

Trying to decide if I want to buy the gym membership or not. Having a hard time justifying it, since it is about 30 min away, I would probably only go a couple times/week, and I have a treadmill and bike at home. But they have an elliptical and weight machines, tanning, and hydro massage at the gym.

My asthma is cold, exercise, and illness induced. I have had such bad attacks that I have almost died. For a long time I let my asthma prevent me from doing physical activity. I still have a lot of anxiety about having an attack, and still let it dictate my activities some. But it doesn't prevent me from doing things. Now…

I will also agree that you're probably overeating and overestimating calorie burn. As example, my cup of grapes as measured in a measuring cup actually weighed out to almost twice the calories. If you're not weighing ANY of your food, you could be easily consuming twice as many calories of everything. I don't believe there…

If you know how many calories you burned or can estimate your calorie burn (such as if you wear a fitbit), select to add exercise, select cardio, scroll all the way to the bottom and select create new exercise.

I got a nice sports bra at Jc Penney. Nothing fancy, just plain white. But it provides a lot of support.
