  • Hmmm, possibly, but I use pretty crunchy soap. I’ll try a different one though to see. Thanks for the input!
  • I’ve been noticing it for awhile - maybe six months or so. My husband doesn’t smell it, but it is definitely there. My kids say I smell like potato chips when I’m sweaty. :) I’m 5’7 and just under 140 lbs. I’ve never had kidney issues. Thanks for your input. I’m going to a ask my mom when she visits since I work out at…
  • I think so - I drink a ton of sparkling water (flavored, no sugar or fake sugar) and at least 50 oz of still water. My urine is light. I’ll try to increase even more!
  • Save your money and use YouTube. You can search "no equipment cardio workout" and get thousands. I do videos three times per week and only repeat kickboxing workouts because I haven't found that many great ones on YouTube.
  • I just search for workouts on youtube. Fitness Blender is good. I like GymRa a lot, as well. Some of the popsugar videos are good -- I love the kickboxing ones. I'm all about free workouts. :)
  • I'm big on trying to avoid a lot of the crap that is in those bars. My favorites are Perfect Bars (need to be refrigerated), RX bars and Zing Lemon Cashew bars. The perfect bars have just over 300 calories and around 16 grams of protein. These all have more sugar that I'd like, but I'm not a fan of fake sugar.
  • I really got into lifting about six months ago. Until then I only had up to 10 pound weights. I had awesome success with trainer Nicole's mommy fit workouts (15 day challenge- I didn't eat the food or drink the shakes). I also love kickboxing. If you get good technique and maintain tension in your arms, you will see more…
  • Weigh yourself once a week. AT THE MOST.
  • @czmiles926 -- Do you tend to gain weight in your belly, too? I gain in my middle instead of my hips and backside. I'm trying the Strong Curves program to hopefully build some muscles and see if I can define my waist a little more. I don't really care other than hoping to shift some weight (or at least look like it) and…
  • Be gentle on yourself. Cutting out alcohol is a huge change, not just in terms of calories. When I stopped drinking, I remember it took several weeks for me to begin to lose weight. Once I had my head back, I did a Whole30. It really helped me feel like I was starting over and it helped me lose weight while eating to…
  • Deep breaths. Also, do you practice "grounding?" Google it. A few people have sort of described it above, but it's a technique that can "pull" you out of the panic. Also, I like to count my steps to get a rhythm going. Then I align my breathing with it.
  • This is a post that was helpful for me. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1308750/so-you-want-to-start-lifting-great/p1. I used to lift more in a circuit, but now I do one exercise at a time. I find my muscles get more fatigued that way, which makes me think it is more effective in building muscle. (I have no…
  • Probably need more details about your height, etc., but I would aim for around 2000 per day to keep supply up and lose weight. The general rule is that BFing "burns" around 500 calories per day, but that can decrease once your baby starts eating solids (and I assume yours is). Try eating 2000 per day for two weeks and see…
  • What kind of workout? I like high intensity, body weight workouts -- a few of these use weights, too. I like GymRa, the Body Coach, and Fitness Blender (I like the guy better than the woman), but there are tons. There is a 35 minute PopSugar kickboxing workout that I really like. I find the HASfit people annoying, but you…
  • I love my Bob jogging stroller, but I love wearing my toddler on my back more. I use a toddler Tula. It's a great workout on top of the hike.
  • I eat half a protein bar and the other half right after. I work out first thing in the morning. My current go to bars are Rx Bars, Lemon Cashew Zing bars, and Think Thin high protein bars (though these have fake sugar so I don't like to eat them that often).
  • IME, that's not enough calories. But, watch and see how your supply is. The going estimate is 20 calories per ounce pumped, but I find that to be really low for me. Are you an exclusive pumper? If you're nursing on top of what you're pumping, it's definitely not enough. I'm nursing two toddlers. I pump once a day just…
  • Marinate overnight in Yoshida and then grill. It's not the healthiest, but makes the chicken awesome.
  • https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/instant-pot-beef-gyros/ Chicken thighs, chili powder, garlic, onion powder, and a jar of salsa Pork tenderloin and a couple cups of teriyaki sauce (sear it first as it gets dry) https://myheartbeets.com/instant-pot-ground-beef-bulgogi/ (I've gotten over my fear of soy for the most part so…
  • Good idea. I usually do Chinese sausage, thai basil, rice noodles, cucumbers, pickled Asian veggies and sometimes avocado. Then dip in peanut sauce. I have a fresh pack of rice paper at home. Now I'm going to experiment -- I've never done anything but try to replicate the Asian restaurants. Thanks for the idea!
  • I get this nearly daily. A chiropractic adjustment helps, as does lying on a foam roller and moving my arms like making snow angels. I also use a tennis ball to hit the specific spot. It's definitely muscular for me (though I have self diagnosed several cancers). One chiro told me my ribs move out of where they are…
  • I drink Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. I haven't had a flu in a long time, though. I might not be able to stomach the vinegar if I were nauseous. The vinegar has knocked out every cold I have had in the past couple years. Soup is also my cure-all. I make chicken soup with lots of cilantro, chicken, and potatoes, but you…
  • Sixtine79, try pumping one side while your baby nurses on the other. You will be telling your body to make lots of milk (basically, you're doubling the demand). Pumping only removes about 60% of the milk, so you can put your baby on that boob after you pump to empty it. It's awkward at first to juggle it, but once you get…
  • Pandora's "Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout" station.
  • I'm not sure how "newborn" your baby is, but as his or her stomach size increases, you will burn more and more calories, because s/he will eat more. The "20 calories an ounce" is a general rule of thumb, but I have found I lose weight way too quickly and my supply dips if I follow that. Your baby will drink roughly the…
  • I select "nursing mother, breastfeeding" in the foods list and enter it into my daily calories. It adjust the carbs, sugars, etc., based on the number of ounces entered, which I estimate based on pumping and experience. Nursing is so unique to each mother and baby/babies so I don't know how accurate it is. Like the others…
  • Thank you very much for the suggestions and links. I did have to look up "goblet squats," but I am familiar with the other exercises and am going to try to follow a plan. jemhh - the links are great. I'll definitely go as heavy as I can. I'll let you know if I get too "big" or "manly" (because we all know that's such a big…
  • Search GymRa Tabata. Great, short workouts. Moves can be a little complex, they are great. FitnessBlender is good. I just search "tabata" or "HIIT" and randomly choose a workout.
