104 lbs total; almost 100 since surgery VSG 11/17/2017 Female HW: 280 ish SW: 263 CW: 166 Trying to lose 15-20 more lbs but currently recovering from spine surgery, so I am required to keep my calories higher than usual, so maintaining is the current goal

I also agree. I was looking at a VSG success I follow on YouTube and Instagram. She is perfectly thin at 5’2 and 144-147. She considers herself in maintenance, which is correct after a year in that range. but her BMI is still overweight. BMI is so skewed.

When I started this journey, I vowed to never again eat things I don’t like, including yogurt and protein shakes. I haven’t and all has gone well. Find things you like that fit into your new lifestyle. I travel for work, so I mostly eat at restaurants. I eat protein, soups, and veggies. You can find what works for you.…

Welcome! Sounds like you have been through a lot but have come through fine.
-
Welcome! Congratulations on your decision. Losing and regaining several times is why I had VSG. I am five months out and couldn’t be happier

Welcome!

I will check it out. I watch a lot of VSG YouTube videos. I made a couple at first, but I kept them private after I realized I didn’t have time for it.
-
You can do it! Don’t lose faith in yourself.

Thanks. I am fine working out. It is just the theory I was looking at. I am glad you found what works for you.

Awesome transformation! Congratulations!

I love my balance ball too!

I have been extremely lucky. My family, friends, and colleagues have been extremely supportive. While VSG has been a lifesaver for me, I wouldn’t call it easy. However, it has been easier than my lifetime of dieting. Of course, I have had zero complications.

Stall broken by following my doc’s advice and going back to liquids. Yay!

My doctor definitely believes in exercise as well, and I was working out before and since surgery. I just find it interesting because Dr. Vuong has such a huge following, and his patient’s are so successful. I am not going to stop exercising because I lose my cardiovascular fitness too easily.

Awesome job! I hope to be there by the end of the year. I am down 49lbs since surgery on 11/17.

Welcome!

I started ten pound dumbbells this week (week5). I am also walking and hiking. My doc released me for all normal activity that doesn’t hurt. Lifting can’t exceed 20 lbs for two more weeks.

I love Dr. Werner’s videos. They really helped me through my preop and decision phases.

Welcome!

Hi there and welcome! I am one week post op. I am glad you don’t have to do the liquid diet. I will think of my top tips and post them later today or tomorrow. Still in recovery and neee a nap. Lol.

Thank you! I plan to attend the next meeting. I will definitely keep you updated.

Welcome!

Good for you!

Yo can totally get back on track. You haven’t let it go too far.

Welcome!

I stopped baking for him except on special occasions. I buy him cookies at a higher end grocery store. They are almost as good, but he only gets them a couple of times per week.
-
I’m with you loveshoe, but I will be about a week post op on Thanksgiving, so I will be having soup.

I have a bean pole too! He can’t do low carb. We’ve tried. He is fine with white rice pretty much daily, which I can take or leave. My NUT says keep some rice cooked for him, and he can eat what I have with it.
