  • While searching for dill pickles, I came across these: Mt. Olive Pickle Company - No Sugar Added Sweet Gherkins I've never been a fan of sweet pickles, but these are really good. I chop a few up into whatever random weird dinner I've concocted for myself. My other half has discovered the jar and is munching on them…
  • My June challenge: As @bluets2011 stated: Expand my food choices by adding new recipes and CHEESE (maybe...lol) Start exercising regularly- I think I'll get into Jillian Michaels Body Revolution (now that my right heel has had time to heal) Track weight and measurements
  • I got to weigh in this morning on my new ridiculous fancy scale 5/2/17- SW: 212 6/1/17- CW: 192.1
  • It is the last day of my Mini-Goals May challenge! I've logged on daily, tracking all my foods/water No dairy, wheat/grains, sugar, alcohol No 'cheats' whatsoever- which is amazing considering all the 'FOOD PARTIES' I've been around...lol I haven't been able to exercise much due to trying to heal- what I believe to be-…
  • I was unaware of mitochondrial toxicity... more info to soak up.
  • You are welcome to check out my diary. It is a bit boring (possibly odd...lol) for the moment... changes are around the corner
  • @CRZYFTM - Congrats on your fantastic success! Thank you for sharing pictures. As sixaround1 said: "very inspiring"
  • Congratulations! B)
  • :o I need to up my sodium intake! Thank you for the information, @cstehansen
  • Interesting, thank you for sharing! I've had some crazy sleep patterns for over a year now. Constantly waking throughout the night. Will give this a go. Not really interested in taking any pills, would rather try to address the issue. I was wondering if the loss of my thyroid and/or thyroid pill had anything to do with my…
  • O.M.G.- I am totally going to try this ^^ I experiment with mashing different foods together, it's fun. My other half thinks I am weird, lol, but I've surprised him a time or two.
  • Yes, this group is certainly a life-line for me. Even when I completely blew off my progress, I still managed to log on to read and read...which eventually jogged my fuzzy brain- reminding me of why I originally chose this path/change/lifestyle. I am very grateful for those who've shared their experiences, opinions,…
  • @genmon00 - Thanks for posting the link I picked up some common-sense info (oops, is my "greenness" showing?....lol)
  • I eat avocado with chicken, fish (any), beef, sausage.... and so on. I think it all tastes good. Then again, I can eat some strange combinations of food....lol. This evening I had some canned salmon with chopped avocado and a few chopped sweet gherkins.
  • Check-in: Still holding strong with my May mini-goals. I've got 8 more days until I finally weigh myself. At that point I'll continue tracking weight and measurements. BUT...before I get to June 1st, I have a huge family get together this coming weekend with food/drinks and more food/drinks (challenge #3 to get through for…
  • Nice! Congrats on your loss! I love almond and cashew butter. I had 2 tablespoons of cashew butter the other night for "dessert".
  • Sounds very interesting... I can pre-order on Amazon. The release date is: September 26, 2017
  • Ah, yes... the ketosis / ketoacidosis confusion. I've run into the same 'concern and warnings' too. I ask to hear what information the person has to offer (for fun mostly), usually it is one sided about ketoacidosis. I then ask about ketosis-- comes up short on info. I just tell them to read up on both topics and then we…
  • @CRZYFTM - Sweeeeeet!! Congrats!
  • @CRZYFTM - Glad the IF is going well for you. I started the 16/8 IF (cold-turkey) 20 days ago. Discovered I had been doing this on the weekends for a very long time, so made the transition easy for the weekdays. Sometimes I get hunger pains in the morning, but I know there is a trigger there I am quickly overcoming.…
  • @Just_Eric - Not exactly new... I've been around over a year. I started out full steam ahead and then completely derailed when I allowed some very weak willpower take over (sometime after taking RAI pill due to thyroid cancer). Last 8 months I've: been reading up on various Keto topics, gathering recipes/books, created an…

  • I went to a soccer game this evening. Food, candy, and beer everywhere! A bit of a nightmare.... I had 3 hotdogs with a little mustard (I had not had dinner, so was hungry) and Jason happily munched away on the buns. I kept to my bottled water too. BAM! Nailed it!! A fantastic victory.... (Unfortunately, I am…

  • Amusing... This caught me off guard: "A Ziploc bag full of pastry flour and a straw make a great snack on the go. Start slowly. Don’t inhale." Ugh- no thanks. Great mental image to use IF a "craving" were to creep up. ;)
  • I am on Day 14 of my month long adventure. No deviations. I still feel really tired, trying to figure out how to get rid of it. One day at a time
  • A little late jumping in the mix: Mini-Goals for May... 1. 16/8 fasting routine 2. No dairy 3. No logging onto FB 4. Keep carbs under 20g and sugar non-existent (if possible) I have maintained all of these so far, excited to reach the end of May.
  • Wonderful read, thank you!
  • I am 11 days into my mini-goals month. I have 20 days left (including today since it is still early). Holding strong so far. I am really excited to see where I am at on June 1st--> as far as weight, measurements, energy. Focus, focus, focus....lol :D
  • Currently sitting in break room with a plethora of catered Greek food in front of me (it looks so very inviting)...... <enjoys the prepared food from home>...... and that is all.
