Welcome to the group! Be sure to check out all the good info in the Launch Pad and the other stickies at the top of the group page, and let us know what questions you have.

Have you tried making "Keto-ade?" The way I make mine is to add 1/4 tsp. sodium chloride (table salt), 1/4 tsp. potassium chloride (salt substitute), 4-5 drops liquid stevia, and 1 Tbsp. lime juice to 16-20 oz. of water. Morton's "Lite Salt" is a combination of sodium chloride and potassium chloride, so 1/2 tsp. of that is…

For real?!?!? *does happy dance* Thank you @samanthaluangphixay !!

@Bonny132 that's awesome! When you get right down to it, loving ourselves enough to take care of ourselves and improve our health leads to having more energy to share that love with others in our lives. <3

Not a clue. Haven't thought that far ahead! :D

For the month of January my two main goals are: 1. Incorporate some kind of physical activity into every day, whether it is lifting weights, cardio, even a single set of push-ups or just stretching. Something to get the blood flowing. 2. Do better at meal planning and grocery shopping, so I'm not scrounging around every…

Yes! Take your time and get it right! As we are fond of saying in this group, "It's a marathon, not a sprint." This is key. People need to understand that there is no ONE right way to achieve health goals, especially since there are so many possible health goals out there. Thank goodness we have lots of different…

I hear you about the Red Robin bottomless fries! I used to enjoy those quite a bit, so I know to steer clear these days! :D Congrats on the progress so far! Let us know how we can help. And welcome to the group!

Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt (Diet Doctor) published a chapter from the book. It's interesting reading! https://www.dietdoctor.com/chapter-gary-taubes-case-sugar?utm_source=Diet+Doctor+Newsletter&utm_campaign=e2396bca17-Test&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_41db911777-e2396bca17-464344233

Just to clarify, Pedram Shojai isn't recommending people eliminate nightshades for only 7 days. He says it takes longer to notice any differences. The program is called the "7 Day Reboot" because it is 7 different aspects of lifestyle changes he advocates making and/or improving, and he introduces one per day for 7 days. I…

You look fantastic! And what a beautiful group, the sisters and cousins. <3
-
@kirkor that's a good point. And it certainly won't hurt me to eliminate them for a few weeks.

SW: 186 CW: 182.4 - so close!!! No sweets! - um. . . :( I succumbed to the miniature Hershey's bar and the Reese's peanut butter Christmas tree. Work out at least 3 times a week - I've done two already this week, so I'm almost there! B)
-
Thank goodness for that - lol! My ex sent a cinnamon swirl bundt cake and apple pie home with my daughter after Christmas dinner, which I have been trying hard to ignore. :D It's a good thing I had a batch of crack slaw in the fridge!

Welcome to the group! As Sunny_Bunny_ said, you may be able to see patterns in your readings. Have you noticed that your numbers were higher after eating certain foods?

Mmmmmmmm. . . Mexican Mole sauce over avocados!

This is a quick (15 minute) intro to why a LCHF WOE works for T2Ds, which I found helpful when I was just starting out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da1vvigy5tQ&t=122s

Merry Christmas, and a big "thank you" from me to all of you!

That's great that you found the macros that work for you! You may need to tweak them as you get closer to your goal weight, but enjoy the success you're having now. Friend request sent.

@cstehansen that is fantastic!

It's up and running now. ☺

Calorie King is a good resource. They have an online database for calories, carbs, etc. and a book they publish annually. The latest version on Amazon is here: https://www.amazon.com/CalorieKing-Calorie-Carbohydrate-Counter-2017/dp/1930448678/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1482454746&sr=1-1&keywords=calorie+counter You…

Do you drink BPC? When I want something more substantial I will put a scoop of protein powder (Trader Joe's has a 0 carb soy protein powder) and a square of Ghirardelli 100% cocoa unsweetened chocolate in my BPC before blending.

omg - that's right up there with the sugar-free gummy bears reviews!

I missed my office party this year, because I was in a training class. :p We've had a lot fewer treats in our area this year than years past. Not sure why, but at least it has made things easier temptation-wise. My "treat" to the team was a big box of holiday-flavored, unsweetened coffees for the office Keurig machine.…

@RalfLott we didn't talk about the non-standard tests. Probably it was because the trends on my A1C and lipids were already headed in the right direction, so no real need to dig deeper unless I run into problems. I'm due for another round of labs in March or April, so it will be interesting to see if the trends continue.…
-
I'm curious to hear your results. Did you do a PP check after using the stuff?
-
w00t! I've always wanted to visit Australia!
-
@RalfLott she had asked if I would share my latest lab results with her, and me being the nerd that I am, I sent her my graphs of my lipid panels and A1C levels for the past two years. :D She asked about medical history and current medications/issues, what supplements I was taking, my activity level, and what I typically…
