The whole calorie in, calorie out thing is too much for me personally. I get about the same amount of exercise each day and maybe more on weekends. I take in about 1,250 to 1,400 calories and no more (I hope, allowing for mistakes!) Be reasonable with yourself. When we are too strict we just set ourselves up for disaster.…

I get about 1,200 calories on days that I'm not really hungry or very very busy. The most I consume is 1,400 and I measure very accurately.

I take a caffeine drink before workouts plus some soy protein powder. Two droppers full of B Complex liquid also. Add some tart cherry extract which helps reduce inflammation and follow every workout with ice bags on the specific joints which I am strengthening. What a help! When all is done I feel great!

Wash and cut up in chunks. Steam for 25 minutes or until very tender. Peel. Mash up with just a small amount of honey. Enjoy just like that!

Serving size is supposed to reflect a 2,000 cal. a day plan. I just measure out what I want and keep it under my calorie limit for my day. I'm too busy to make a science out of this.

Look them up online. I did just yesterday. Needed a low sodium salad dressing and found one! I ran out for greek yogurt, buttermilk, mustard, balsamic vinegar and some Feta cheese.

I do the same when eating out. Sounds like a safe choice. I would ask about the dressings. The high fat ones can really kill the diet. I use Balsamic vinegar only. Kind of an acquired taste.

Questions for you guys who work out.......is it true that eating a protein meal right after working out is a good idea? I am working out on a Universal gym and really pushing it to build muscle around the shoulder area.
