  • I've had this happen with certain hot dogs and Twinkie calories. When I scan it in MFP it comes up as something else or the calories are way off.
  • I guess I have to keep restating my original post about this...I just took a moment to comment on the fact that MFP doesn't seem to offer enough serving size options to choose from when you scan a product and you consumed a different size than the normal serving size on the box. You then said that users enter most of the…
  • Right. That's what I'm saying... The problem is with MFP's accuracy then.
  • Even when you scan a label on the package itself? I know people enter in certain foods or recipes calories themselves.
  • Yeah I know that. But cups, tsps, and tablespoons are more common sizes people are used to and are easy to know and measure (since most people have measuring cups and spoons in their kitchens). I'm just saying I find it strange that MFP wouldn't offer these as common measuring options for many things I'm eating. Just…
  • Who said I was worried about macros? I think you are confusing my comments with the rest of the discussion on this topic. I'm not making it complicated, what I'm saying is that MFP is making it more complicated than it has to be. To even do a basic tracking of calories you need to know the serving size to enter of what you…
  • Thanks, but I know I can google it and get the answer. I guess my point is that I shouldn't have to leave the app, google the answer and then come back to the app to enter. This app is supposed to make it easy and it makes no sense that it wouldn't offer a tsp or tblspn option for a liquid product. Also it sometimes will…
  • Anyone else find that MFP doesn't give you enough differing serving size choices when you enter your food? For instance, I had a little syrup on a waffle this morning (maybe about a tsp) and when I went to scan the label and choose the serving it only gives me the 1/4 cup serving size on the bottle and a bunch of other…
  • Thanks for the advice! :)
  • You are evil for starting this post :D

  • I'm glad you pointed this out. In my short time visiting these boards, I've noticed you can't say what works for you or give opinions without someone jumping down your throat about it. Most people are cool, but some take every little thing personally when the comment is not offensive in any way. Its only someone's personal…
  • The place I ate the pizza at was like a kids arcade party place so obviously no nutritional info available. I'm thinking maybe I can just look at the serving size calories for a typical thin crust frozen pizza and use that
  • What about sweetened diet tea that comes bottled by Lipton? They have different flavors and are, I believe, like 5 calories a bottle. I think there are some that are zero calories as well. The peach and green teas are my favorite.
  • A lot of people on here say that the only thing you really need to do to lose weight is to consistently have a calorie deficit. But then some people say, you need that plus to still be aware of what foods you eat to help with that weight loss (macros). So is it then truly not just a calorie deficit? If you are always under…
  • I think that's a cop out some people use to be able to attack others for their different dieting practices. Like they can explain away their snarkiness and attitude by saying they are just trying to protect others from being mislead. Can we not think for ourselves? I didn't feel at all that he was implying it was the only…
  • Geez! People on here are sooooo sensitive about diets and food. I don't know if it's food withdrawals or what but these boards have become more scary than helpful or fun. I read the OPs first post and did not feel like he was talking down to me or saying anyone was dieting wrong. Yet the following responses to his first…
  • Or eat dinner before the movie then you won't be hankering for snacks. That's what we did the other night and neither one of us wanted anything at the show.
  • It depends on how many calories you have to work with in a day on whether I'd consider it junk food. If eating one whopper uses up the bulk of my days calories and I can't eat much of anything else for the rest of the day then I'd consider it a bad move. But if you have a ton of calories to eat through and can still stay…

  • I love the new Fiber One orange Cranberry bar! And only 90 calories a bar. Also the blue bunny mini swirls cones. It's real Ice cream and chocolate at only 130 calories a cone and very yummy!
  • When you search exercises on MFP and type in Zumba. Zumba fitness comes up and then asks you how many minutes you did it for. Then it gives you your calories burned. There is no place to type calories burned.

  • I haven't looked up regular Zumba yet

  • I wish the people monitoring these boards would not allow people to ask ridiculous questions where they are obviously trolling and wasting people's time.

  • I just discovered Chicken Adobo. It's heavenly! I also use boneless, skinless chicken thighs. You basically simmer the thighs in reduced sodium soy sauce and rice vinegar with a few basil leaves and some garlic. The sauce reduces down to a great thick sauce that clings to the chicken. Soooo good.
  • So if you are concerned with the nutritional value of the cake why did you word your question like that? About it making you sick? Did you mean you wanted to know the calories etc to know how it might affect your diet, if you are on one?
  • Yeah. I don't get it either.
  • I don't get these questions. Why are you asking strangers to decide for you what you should eat? One option has more calories then the other. if you have enough calories for the day and like lasagna then eat lasagna. I don't get why anyone would just want to eat a plain bowl of rice. I feel like this is a trolling question…

  • I'm confused by this question. Have you never had cake before?
  • I didn't know that Chinese places would do that. I always feel kinda bad asking them to even remove things like water chestnuts from my dish much less tell them how to cook it or deconstruct the dish and put things on the side. Maybe I'll try that next time. Fingers crossed they still want me as a customer :)
  • What is a Firemans sub? And why can't you go back?
  • Does this mean you have never had it before? I believe it's one of their higher calorie and fat sandwiches. I guess you can make it a little healthier topping it with a load of veggies and getting it on wheat bread. And you probably don't want to add cheese or sauces or mayo if you want it to be healthier. But I don't…
