The last time I had an expectation of maintaining, it led to overconfidence, and a weight gain.

Not an interesting game from a pure football watching point of view, although I'm sure Eagles' fans thought it was a good game. The defense won the game in the first half, so I was hoping they would give the MVP to a defensive player. It went to the QB, of course. As much as it pains me to say it, the best team won.

So, you've got a perfect excuse to stay inside all day and watch the game. I think the pre-pregame show is already on.

Good morning. Mid-70s here this morning, going up into the 80s, but winter (or what we call winter here in Texas) returns tomorrow.

Up 1.2 pounds this week. Too bad this wasn't a Thursday weigh-in, as I was actually down for the week yesterday. I'm hoping Friday was just a one-day abberation. Will I stay focused today to make that happen? Time wil tell.

Good afternoon. How you doing Al?

Good morning. A nice 63℉ so I'm going for a run.

Off topic from the off topic football thread - Mavs traded Luka for an older, injury prone Anthony Davis and one first round draft pick. Only one draft pick? The Mavs made a horrible move. People in LA must be laughing their butts off right now.

Down 1.6 is the magic number today. This is my first loss after a long string of gains, so I'm happy.

I’ll root for KC since Mahomes has the Texas Tech connection, and because they are playing the Eagles..

Count me in with those who said the scales, but let me add the notebook I use to track points each day. I also have a printed cheat-sheet of pre-calculated points for most of my common menu items.

Lace 'em up Charlie! As to the authenticity of the pictures, I don't jump and I don't have a beard, but I'm in there.

Those are pictures from the race I ran Saturday morning.

I agree totally about going for two. Reminds me of how the NBA has fallen in love with the 3-point shot. As much as they shoot 3s, the NBA should add a 5-point line like the Harlem Globetrotters use.

To tack on to my thoughts on going for it on 4th down, Buffalo went for it at midfield in the 4th quarter and failed. KC scored a few plays later. Hindsight is 20-20, but I would have rather played the field position game. The Bills' coach can think about that one all off-season.
-
What do you think of the growing trend in the NFL to go for it on 4th down instead of punting or kicking a field goal? I'm more of a traditionalist. I especially don't like the rugby scrum that the Eagles do. It should be illegal for other players to just push from behind. Isn't that already against the rules?

Up early for a race. Chilly morning - 36 degrees with a wind chill of 29. Why am I doing this???
