Waiting for that spark
I maintained my weight around 181–182 for most of 2024, but now I’m solidly in the low 190s. I haven’t had that moment — the trigger or jolt — that pushes me to do what it takes to lose the extra weight. I know I should, but right now, knowing isn’t enough to change my mindset or behavior. I thought seeing the 190s again…

Unusual snack items
I'm in a mood to admit some things, maybe you are too. What are some of the worst choices, or most unusual items, that you snack on (or used to snack on)? I have two. One is the dark chocolate morsels that my wife uses for baking, a handful at a time. The other is honey toasted oats cereal, also a handful at a time.

WW filed
WeightWatchers, the 62-year-old program that revolutionized dieting for millions of people around the world, has filed for bankruptcy.

How accurate is your tracking?
When I started WW's Points Plus program many moons ago, I weighed or measured everything. I used their points calculator, entering all the required nutritional information. My tracking was quite accurate back then, or at least the best I could do. Fast forward to today, and although my food scale and measuring cups still…

WW to file bankruptcy?

I'm not posting this to bash WW, but rather I'd like to hear thoughts from those of you who still go, or keep up with them closer than I…

OT - NCAA basketball pool
The NCAA basketball tournament announces the 2025 field this Sunday. I have created a GOAD bracket pool using the CBS Sports app and website. I know it is early, but I wanted to allow plenty of time for anyone who wants to participate to get signed-up, and time to fix anything that might be goofed-up. The link below should…

Winter weight gain
I gained about five pounds over the winter. That doesn't seem to be too much that I couldn't lose it and get back to my target weight, but I seem to have settled for it. I don't feel overweight, and my clothes still fit. I am just not motivated to do what it takes drop the excess weight. I know that the big risk here is…

Beat the holiday rush
I won't be surprised if some people post about a weight gain after Thanksgiving. As for me, I seem to have beaten the rush. I'm up two pounds since Friday's weigh-in. Maybe by putting this out there I will take some measures to reel it in. We don't go overboard with food on Thanksgiving, so I won't have that to deal with.…

Tracking question
Do you track to record your intake, or is tracking an integral part of deciding what and how much to eat? I find it differs when I am trying to lose weight as opposed to when I am maintaining.
