  • I try to eat enough protein, not go over in my fats and keep my carbs under 20 net as much as possible. Drink lots of water. I usually have enough energy to work out. I just listen to my body and quit when I need it. My focus is weight loss right now though. I exercise to keep in a calorie deficit but not for solely weight…
  • I make sure to drink lots of water, eat lots of protein and fat within my calorie goal. I try to limit carbs because they make me more snacky. I also track my calories every day and if I don’t have it left I don’t eat it except for the rare times in the weekend I am having a treat.
  • 1. Still have my same mini goal to work every day (or at least 5 days a week even in the teaching year!) 2. I am adding a mini goal to break through my plateau to get to the 160's only a couple of lbs to lose.
  • Reached my mini goal of losing 25 lbs! I am 26 lbs down. :) My other mini goal reached as well to buy some cute holiday outfits in a smaller size than I have seen in years.
  • Yes, Gluten free helps my Hashi and joint pain. I did both the blood work (which was positive for wheat allergy) and the elimination test. I'm not a celiac but I do much better off gluten, You can be sensitive to it and not be celiac. My son has very severe GERD. He is on two different meds and a very strict reflux diet.…
  • Thank you! It's been a process. Finding my thyroid disorder, a year spent raising to the right dose (made my BP worse at first), getting hormones right as I was having major issues there as well, cleaning up my diet, using this app. So worth it though!
  • Only half way to goal but I am proud of my progress so far. Starting to get lots of compliments. 22 lbs lost so far in 3 months. Not bad for someone with a thyroid disorder.
  • I was able to fit in my size 12 pants again comfortably! I have a lot more clothes now. My size 14 were getting too tight before I started.
  • 1. To work out everyday even though I am teaching again soon 2. To lose 6 more lbs and get back to that weight 3. Lose 25 lbs by Xmas Parties, rock a really awesome outfit.
  • Walked all around today, carrying items up hills! I wasn't winded at all. I felt great! My 10000 step a day cardio habit is really paying off. While I had some treats today, pizza and beer while tubing, I logged them and still ended up under calories for the day. I was complimented on how a t-shirt I was wearing fit! :)
  • My teen son asked if I am getting skinner or if it was my top? I was wearing a fitted exercise top! I am losing both inches and lbs. Not bad considering my thyroid is out of range at the moment. :)
  • Yoga with lots of planks, boat pose etc has helped me a lot, Pouch much smaller
  • I work out as soon as I get home. I don't buy unhealthy foods. If I buy a treat for my three boys preteen and teen age, they know to keep it out of sight of me. Though mostly I can resist except pizza! I am a teacher so I am all the time getting baked goodies. I usually just save for my own kids but I will fake it or take…
  • Thank you for your response! I see my doctor on Wednesday. Yes, I have spent the last year researching my disorder since my diagnosis. I have every book and visited many, many websites. I have been seeing a doctor (off my insurance, expensive) who specializes in hormones and thyroid who actually has hashi himself. He's the…
  • Maybe it is my age, 47, but I don't give a flip what anyone says about my weight. Be heavy or skinny. I am focused on my health as well, I know what weight is good for my BP, insulin resistance. I have thyroid issues, too. Just trying to feel good and be healthy. I am a working mom of three. I need the energy. Plus I have…
  • I was also going to recommend yoga! It helps keep me stretched out, I don't get hurt as much. I have double jointed ankles that pop out of joint after some bad sprains, I also walk on a rebounder. Seems to be better on my joints than walking on hard surfaces.
  • Love Costco! I can go broke saving money there. :)

  • I buy from a website called mydietshopz.com They have a good selection of high protein low carb bars, shakes, oatmeal. I mainly use them as an emergency ration.
  • Get the Well Fed cookbook! It is a great Paleo cookbook with a section on how to batch cook, how to make protein in advance, different spices to change things up. Everything is pretty easy. No reason not to learn to cook. I have three boys 12-17, and they all are learning. I suggest doubling all recipes, starting putting…
  • I have this issue as well! Going to try eat dinner earlier instead of an afternoon snack then I should have more calories available at night.
  • Same, I finally got it working and it quit syncing steps after this morning. My calories are syncing from MFP to Fitbit though,
  • I have a pair of jeans waiting for me! I lost 50 lbs, 6 years ago, wore them maybe 2-3 times then gained some of the weight back. I am hoping by spring break or summer.!
  • Zoodles cooked with garlic, spices and a bit of olive oil tastes the same to me.
  • I had twins and then my youngest, 2 c-sections, my obgyn just shook his head and said tummy tuck! It is better at a low weight, doing yoga, barre core work, in addition to cardio, taking collagen and amino acids. It will probably always be a bit saggy and scarred though. I have some wicked stretch marks,
  • 47 working mom (teacher) with three kids. I need to lose 40 lbs. :) so far doing well even with thyroid and hormone issues, it really is about CICO and macros.
  • I walk/ jog on a rebounder while playing walk it out on the wifi in front of a fan in the A/C. Can you tell I live in the hot, humid South!
  • 10000 a day for Vitamin D, so i can stay in the higher range, he tests periodically, as I have been low for at least 10 years even with supplementation at lower level. I don't use from the sun. Vitamin K and Magnesium I don't remember exact levels.
  • Vitamin D- a must prevents cancer and autoimmune. Greatly helps my energy and thyroid. Magnesium- for my high blood pressure, headaches. Vitamin K- for my osteopenia. Omegas and coq10, Vitamin B, Vitamin C as I remember they do help me feel better. The first three were per my doctor to address low levels.
  • Vitamin D, Vitamin K and Magnesium were the only vitamins my doctor really advised I make sure and take with hashi and osteopenia (he has hashi too) though I take others as well. I have a lot of neck/shoulder pain when I am undermedicated. .
  • 1200 goal here as well! Seems right as I am hypothyroid (hashimoto) and in peri menopause at 47. I am new but 1200 seems doable. My biggest struggle is to eat breakfast.
