Awesome I'm about to go do an abs workout so I'll try it out
-
Thanks I'll try to do a few more leg lifts, maybe from an upright position, or the dreaded reverse crunches
-
Thank you all so much they were reluctant to make an appearance for so long haha but it's lovely to get positive comments and you all made my day xx thank you

I feel like I'm not such a newbie, and I DO feel proud of myself this is a super positive forum and really supportive I'm not usually this soppy, usually I'm an annoying smart *kitten* haha but I'm genuinely appreciative :) thanks for the add

Really helpful, thanks so cool to have the expertise right here and accessible

Thanks you so much, what a lovely inspiring post :) I'm loving working out, only been doing it regularly (4 days a week) for about 9wks I am so hooked! So I can definitely see myself progressing onto heavier weights in the future but for now what I do is hard and I'm proud every time I finish. I literally wake up thinking…

Thanks I'll check them out :) I have a very basic beginner bar similar to something used in body pump but to me (5'1) it's big enough! Lol baby steps eh? Thanks for the advice & support
-
Just realised 20 kilos only = 44lbs :( I have a long way to go Lots of positive msgs tho :)

Sadly that was including the bar lol but .. Onward & upward I work out at home in our little gym with a barbell, it's max is 20K and was too heavy for me to lift onto my shoulders for squats (still managed with help) so decided to try deadlifts, ..seems a great solution
-
Definitely enthused, every gain, every change just motivates me more I have never made it this far at the gym before quitting, I am cemented in now! This will always be a part of my life
-
I already feel my butt worked harder, squats are awesome but this might just be a game changer
-
A puny 20K
-
I'm so psyched now
-
So no?
-
I don't live near a gym so it's a home gym for me, no squat rack :( but upping the weight and doing less reps seems the way to go for now, thanks for all your advice, the motivation from others is tremendous on here :)
-
I do 4x20 spread out over my entire workout, I couldn't do 80 in one go! Is that still too many? Should I increase the weight & do like a LOT less? All advice greatly appreciated as I work out at home with no trainer :) thanks
-
Upped my squat weight today to 12.5K and did 80 squats (not aiming for a Kim K butt just a toned lifted rounder one) was easier than I thought so may add a few more next time. My barbell I have only takes a total of 20K & I'm happy with that :) Good workout today tho, upped my dumbbell weight too ....baby steps

I've got to up my game!
-
Yeah, killers! I mix them in when I have time for a longer workout
-
I started with body weight squats to get the technique down
-
Definitely feeling some padding! Feel like someone's snuck up behind me sometimes .. But it's just my bum haha

:)

Well I'm hooked so that's the plan :) adding the squats to my general workout was a game changer, I'm aiming to gradually go up to 20K within the next few weeks I'm just loving it at the moment, don't think I've ever loved working out haha
