I'm 5'9", female, 34 years old with a sedentary lifestyle. MFP gave me 1720 calories /days to maintain 135 lbs. My true number is at least 1800 calories. So MFP was on the low side.

I enjoy orange LaCroix. If you're willing to pay more, strawberry Perrier is very nice.

Drink juice. Consuming too much sugar at once may not be recommended (could overwork your liver), but a glass of juice with a meal should be OK.

This. Sweet and salty perfection. On the plus side, I find it's more filling than other ice creams for the number of calories. The important thing is measure out everything beforehand, then keep that original container FAR away.

Because of the difference in the plain rice, I am thinking the calorie counts were off on all of them. I also didn't notice a difference in taste/composition after the change (although I don't have the hard proof). It's frustrating to think I was consuming 100 more calories a day than I realized, and that was going on for…

Not sure why this wouldn't work. At least if you're into spicy food: Portabello Satay With Thai Peanut Sauce Thai Linguine in Chili Peanut Sauce With Shiitake Mushrooms Also, when I was a kid I would dip chicken fingers into peanut butter. I think I've always been into really earthy flavors.

Regular water is better. Carbonated drinks wear away at tooth enamel.

Try adding mushrooms to your pasta. I find them to be very satisfying and filling for very few calories.

I will probably end up doing that. I would like to see first what difference weight loss makes. I like to isolate variables when it comes to what makes a difference. I also find it hard to stick to an exercise program. But I'm sure I'll eventually have no choice. My skinny dad has managed his back issues fairly well…

I'm 5'9", 33 years old and currently 169 lbs. My highest and lowest weights since age 16 have been 225 and 159 lbs, respectively. My first goal weight is 155, to stay realistic. I imagine my best look would be around 145, but of course I have to see what that looks like. I think I actually want to weigh less than what my…

5'9" 175 lb. I wear a comfortable size 14 US. My brands are usually Levi's and Ralph Lauren. When I was a teenager (same height) I had gotten down to low 160s and was wearing a size 12.

I eat no salt added cottage cheese. For flavor you can add chives.

Cottage cheese has a ton of sodium. Had to switch to the No Salt added variety. Almost all processed, packaged meats.

I just posted this in a different thread, but I am doing exactly what you are describing. I typically have a breakfast of eggs scrambled in butter, and a lunch of low fat cottage cheese. I add nutritional variety later with salads/veggies and whole grain pasta. I find that when I have a high-protein/low carb breakfast and…

The moral is that it works if it works for you. If you are meeting your weight and health goals by not counting calories and consuming lots of fat, than that works for you. For me, it depends on the food. For a long time I had not been counting calories, and stuck mainly to a natural and somewhat high fat diet. My weight…

I've banned foods where I don't know the calorie count. That is basically take-out food from non-chain restaurants. Other than that, I don't ban foods, but there are foods that I avoid. I certainly avoid sugary and simple carbs that provide little satiety for the number of calories consumed. But other than having to know…
