I've lost 20lbs and dropped only one size but my face looks thinner and now have only 1 chin....everyone can see a difference in me even though I only see a little. make tomorrow your new starting…

everyone has to start somewhere.....I'm 3 months in but have a way to go. Just keep at it and one day you'll look in the mirror and it will all be worthwhile

There's a takeaway van just outside my work place and every morning when I arrive, all I can smell is lovely bacon!! It is a nightmare having to resist that every morning but I keep telling myself to stay strong and not give in!!

thanks everyone! I may try slowing down a little and then doing 1 minute bursts of faster running as suggested.

thanks for the encouragement everyone....at 220lbs jogging certainly isn't easy for me but I'm trying to vary my exercises as I previously just used the elliptical.

Its just about teaching your brain how to view thing differently. I used to have an intense fear of being far away from a loo in case I had the onset of urgency. This panic often caused the IBS to flair up so ended up in an horrendous circle of the IBS and anxiety. The CBT makes you think about things differently.....my…

IBS-D sufferer here too! I don't really get the pain and discomfort associated with IBS very often, it affects me with "urgency"....when I feel the need to go I really have to find somewhere and go!! Strangely I don't find that any particular foods make my IBS worse however I do have the condition pretty much under control…

I suffer from severe anxiety too and take prescribed Sertraline daily. I've tried hypnotherapy and acupuncture but neither helped however CBT worked really well. Enquire about it if you haven't tried it already.

surely it depends what resistance everyone sets their machines too. I'm fairly new to exercising but can burn 400 calories in 30 minutes on the elliptical on high resistance.

Yeah I already go for a 15 minute walk before work, then a 15 minute walk at lunch, then an hour gym after work. I just hate being sat at my desk knowing that I'm not burning any calories.
-
a desk bike....what an amazing idea!!

I was really nervous when I first started at the gym but seriously there is no need to worry. Nobody looks at anyone else as they are concentrating on what they are doing. Seriously, you will be absolutely fine once you are there
