You might want to see a therapist.

I ended up having surgery for mine. Swimming is what saved me after surgery. Buy a TENS machine and religiously following your PT regime. You could see a pain management specialist but they're going to give you hard core, and quite addictive, pain meds and tell you to get steroid shots. Everyone here is giving great…

See a dr and therapist. Low does naltrexone might be a med to consider. It's FDA approval is for opiates abuse and alcoholism but I've heard it being used off label by Dr's for BED

I'm on an absolutely absurd amount of medication for my bipolar disorder- almost all the meds cause weight gain. My Pdoc gave me metaformin right from the start. It doesn't cause weight loss but it dose help keep my appetite in control. I know lots and lots of people are against weight loss meds on MFP but have an…

I have a copper IUD. Birth control didn't help in the past but I'm more than willing to experiment with whatever my dr recommends! New cocktails mean things change and it could help this time around. Although my medications render the pregnancy prevention mostly ineffective it'll be nice to know I will be even less likely…

I'm in the same boat. I've lost 50 lbs and even though I feel different I still hate the last 20 I have to lose. I've hit a wall with medications and horrible periods and haven't had much luck losing. Will be talking to my dr. A diet break sounds like a good idea- as long as it doesn't turn in to reverting to unhealthy…

I make Seitan from scratch- I use the recipe from Veganomicon. You'll only lose weight on a deficit but upping your protein macro might help keep you fuller longer. I eat more fats too. I use vega protein powder as well as a snack.

Carbs? What are you eating for protein? I've been vegan for about a year and vegetarian for 13. I eat more veggies than fruit. I don't eat bread usually but always have brown rice or quinoa cooked and in the frig. I eat TONS of beans- mostly because I just love them

I take a lot of vitamins. Mostly because I'm vegan and know I don't get everything I need from my diet. I take: multi with iron, flaxseed oil, vitamin D, full spectrum amino acid, probiotic, calcium and some herbal stuff that probably doesn't do anything

I was vegetarian for 13 years and have been 99% vegan for almost a year. I've lost almost 50lbs. But it's strictly from a caloric deficit. However, my skin completely cleared up and my hair is great! I love kite hill almond cheese and just mayo products. Also the beyond burger is about the best thing ever! Good luck

I went from vegetarian to 99% vegan. I did this for ethical reasons and not for calories but it did end up really affecting me. I still eat dairy and eggs on special occasions with my family or when it is absolutely necessary at work. I weigh everything and do not taste anything at work (I'm a pastry Chef).

I take lithium and my dr proscribed metaformin ( a insulin stabilizing drug and hunger suppressant) to balance out the weight gain. I also take Latuda which has been a life saver. Please do not do anything without medical supervision. Shop around for psych's if yours isn't meeting your expectations

Thanks!

Veganism is more an ethical and moral diet than a weight loss plan. Could you lose weight going vegan? Of course, but you could possibly lose weight on any diet. Do what you think is sustainable to your lifestyle and not your goal weight.

You could see a bariatric dr. They could prescribe a short term dose of: Metaformin, topamax, phentermine (which will give you the jitters), contrave, or any other number of drugs. However the only lasting solution is to eat a high fiber diet with the right macros to keep you fuller longer. The most successful weight loss…

Me too. Sometimes exercise is all that keeps me going. I just force it. Usually feel better afterwards. Sometimes I feel better just because I'm proud of being proactive about my recovery. Hurt my knee a few days ago and wasn't able to exercise today so I went for a long walk. I'm trying.

That is the best sweater of all time! Congrats too!

I've been vegetarian for 13 years and on-and-off vegan throughout. I've lost 35 lbs since about July. I eat lots of tofu and edamame, some faux meat products, nut butters, and I couldn't survive a workout without my Vega protein shakes. I eat a pretty high protein diet. I'd love to be friends. Although I don't eat any…

I'm only aiming to lose 1 lb per week. I maintained/ lost a bit over the holidays (I'm a pastry chef) and am hoping to start losing again. I've changed my status to active and we'll see how it goes!

Swim! I've lost 33lbs swimming. I had to have back surgery and it was the only exercise my physical therapist would approve. I'm a pastry chef and am also on my feet all day.

I had to have back surgery for two herniated disks. Try swimming! It's an amazing whole body exercise and it's what my surgeon and PT said I should do for little impact. I've lost 33 lbs swimming. Also you can add resistance by getting hand paddles and flippers. I swim so much now I got an underwater iPod!

I'd love to try!

I want to be a kick butt sword fighter. (Just about to start taking sword training lessons)

1. Fighting temptations at work 2. Finding time to exercise on days I work 3. Preparing as much food ahead of time for a very picky (mostly) vegan. 4. Pastry chef

I just found out I fit into work's small sized chef coats!

I'm BP 1. Have been diagnosed for over 15 years. I'm stable and very happy but I take a LOT of medication to keep myself modulated. I recently had back surgery and was told by my surgeon that I need to lose at least 50lbs. I'm 5"4' 189.5 lbs. I've gone vegan when I'm at home but I'm a pastry chef so I will stay just…
