yes, I am trying to lose, I am about 15 pounds from my goal weight. I wasn't eating at maintenance calories per se, my body just wasn't dropping any weight, I am thinking of bumping up to maintenance for a little while just to switch things up and then drop back down in a month. I know that it doesn't take much to squelch…

It's weird, but yes I am actually leaving calories over some days...once I get dinner around 8, if it is not all of my calories then I have a hard time eating more because I am trying to get to bed no later than 9:30 and I can just imagine going to bed on a full stomach....maybe I'll have to start drinking a protein shake…

I am actively trying...yes very much so, but I haven't been able to get the scale to move down and when it does...it only stays low for a day or two and then it shoots way up. I try to do a snack at 10 am of around 150 calories or so and then have a yogurt at the 3-4 pm mark.

I really appreciate every one's answers; I think the consensus is that I might be too impatient and I need to give it more time. I will probably just stay with the run with intervals for a while rather than trying to step things up any further and see if my body finally settles and lets the extra weight go or I just might…

Thank you ma'am! Yes ma'am I am weighing everything and I sometimes have a hard time getting to my calorie goals, BUT I am diligently trying NOT to overeat.
-
Thank you...this does help! I have readjusted my macros to see if that will help. I am probably changing too many things at once so I am going to stay with these macros and continue the increase in running for the next few weeks. I'd be happy to friend you.

Whew! You almost made me pass out lol! Not exercise for a week...eating 2835 calories a day...feeling lightheaded again!
-
That is exactly why I am lifting - I am seeing more definition, probably from fat loss, but when I experience strength gains as well, a tiny bird tells me that I am "building" some muscle.

I feel like your advice is more accusatory rather than probing...as though you are looking for a lie that I'm not telling. I realize that written words aren't supposed to have a "tone" but I do feel like you are more aggressive than I am used to.

Thanks, you are very gifted at motivating others! My rate of loss for the last 25 pounds was much faster than the first 50. It took me from 2009 to 2011 to lose the first 50 pounds. Then I seemed to maintain that for about 2 years, then I started to gain and I gained back about 20, so last year I started circuit training…

I never said I was...

You know this made me think for a minute...I went on a cleanse about 3 months ago and during the 2 weeks I worked out 6 days per week. Now this cleanse coupled with exercise was supposed to help me lose a minimum of 5 pounds in these 2 weeks and guess what the day I weighed in (which happened to be right after my second 6…

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to try to help me out. I've had a few other people (not actively trying to lose weight) also say that I should just be patient, but you know when you're really putting in a lot of effort and no reward you get very close to that precipice of wanting to give up.
-
Wow! I had no idea - did you actually read my original post?...you would have known that I am moving more, but thank you for your help! Like I said I appreciate ALL answers.
-
Oh, I forgot to add - I weigh everything, including my coffee creamer if I have any, down to the oz and grams.
-
Thanks...I am going to keep going and keep increasing my reps. It's a big change for me because I haven't had a regular exercise regimen in years.

The MFP database has 60 minutes of circuit training burning 750 calories, so my estimate of 450 is quite less, but even though I am guessing at calories burned, I'm not eating back those calories, so really I'm just tracking my activity. What blows my mind is that none of these answers aside from maybe 2 or 3 are…

I have been thinking that I need more protein, but if protein makes you gain weight, then I guess not. If I can increase my protein and cut down the carbs then maybe not. I do eat my share of fruit and I'd like not to have to give it up...if you looked at my diary, I don't eat very much junk or treats and when I do, the…

Thank you! It's nice to hear that I'm doing at least something right...I get a pretty good boost of cardio from the mountain climbers, but I suppose you're right - I need to start walking or something (running is out, my body is still too heavy). Honestly I just want to know if I am at a true plateau or if I need to give…

Yes, these are items I am cooking myself...I don't tend to use dressings to season, however, I get on the scale and I weigh exactly the same every single time. Now, a few, very few, items of clothing fit a bit different, however I am seeing an increase in inches on my thighs, arms, and hips. Which leads me to believe that…

I assumed that you would see I have a calorie deficit when you looked at my diary. Yes i don't eat more than 1300 sometimes 1400 calories a day. Some days much less than that because I'm not hungry.
-
I do in fact measure my breakfast every morning. I use the recipe builder in order to save time on meals I know will be repeated. And i did eat only 2 pieces of broccoli because I had a serving of steamed carrots as well - I was full.

THANK YOU! This is great! I didn't even realize there was such an option. Yes the calorie count does seem quite high, so I'll do as you suggested and only eat back maybe 1/4 of the calories it has listed. Like clouds parting to let the sun shine! Thanks so much!

Thanks for your encouragement. I have found a website that has calorie counts for different types of strength training...and they state that it is a conservative number in order to keep users from exceedingly over estimating how many calories are being burned. It seems that my routine burns a little over 200 calories…

I have my calorie goal set at 1100 calories without exercise...so I am thinking that with exercise if I am burning more than 100 calories it would put my intake at 1000 or less...this is why I am asking if it would be wise to add a 150 calorie snack to my 1100 calories in order to keep this from happening, however, if I am…

Could I be burning enough calories that I would be putting my calorie intake at 1000 or less?
-
Thank you for your reply. And thank you for not bashing me for not following a traditional cardio based exercise routine. However, in your own experience/opinion...could I be burning enough calories that I would be putting my calorie intake at 1000 or less? Would it be sensible to go a head and add a 150 calorie snack on…

Thanks everyone for your replies! My clothes are fitting looser and I'm thrilled about that. Hopefully next Monday I'll see a loss on the scale and the tape measure. I strive to limit my carb intake and eat mostly protein vegetables, fruits and fats like olive oil, avocado and a little nut butter. I've heard that some…

Could it be too much fruit?

Don't feel bad...I'm in the same boat, however, I gained 7 pounds in a day instead of a week. I noticed this Monday so I've been drinking extra water and eating extra vegetables. I've only gotten rid of 2 of the extra pounds so far, and because of it I am afraid of my weigh in this coming Monday since I'll still be toting…
