My daughter got me a Charge for Christmas, which was six months into my weight loss. I'm now 15 months in and I still love it. It keeps me honest. I like it for logging calories as well as a reminder that I need to move more. I do not do any heavy duty exercise, just walking/him not and yard/garden work.

Probably not. I have to hit s prob, as well. My mattress was new when I started my weight loss. You have to find new ways to sleep so your now bony knees font knock:)

You go girl! Absolutely fabulous job! You look amazing, and I bet you feel just as great.

Definitely! It's all about CICO. You may retain more water, but it's just water, not fat. I had pasta/rice for 6 meals last week but stayed within my calories and I didn't even retain water because I drink so much of it and finish eating by 6:00 pm. I find it's easier to stay within your calories though when you eat whole…

Yes, I am aware of it. I'm not an expert but i do have two science degrees and worked in food safety for a large food processor. I will not eat ultraprocessed or anything with soy or corn syrup in it. It has just never set well with me....it's a personal choice. Nor do I go around preaching the evils of GMOs.....some are…

I usually have leftovers either as is or reinvented into a wrap. I like to make beef/carrot meatballs in a buffalo sauce if i'm craving wings. If I make a roast in my instant pot, I season it initially with steak seasoning. Then after its cooked cooked I divide it into thirds or in half and reseason/sauce depending on what…

My real problem with some GMOs is the fact that they're engineered to stand up to large amounts of pesticides. I don't want any extra Roundup on my plate.

I use it for my sauté oil when I make bourbon chicken, walnut chicken, fried green tomatoes, etc. It has a slightly sweet taste and lends itself to savory recipes that use honey, brown sugar, etc. I find that I need a fraction of the oil I'd normally use because it does not seem to get soaked up by the food as much.

I have lost 40+ lbs with 15 to go, size 14 to size 4/6, and only one male (a much younger guy in my dept. who appreciates fitness, etc.) has said anything. Almost every woman in my school has made positive comments and more. I teach in a high school and I've had former male students in and out of school come up to me and…

^^^ This....I buy canned tomatoes, etc. out of season as well. . . Not worth canning. I do can my pizza sauce, taco sauce, and other "specialty" goodies. But I, too, refuse to buy "fresh" tomatoes out of season ...blah! I started my shift because I enjoy food prep and cooking, and it slowly transformed into something much…

I second that clearance rack statement! I can't seem to get enough shopping but I'm spending less it seems.

My digestion problems went away as well! Now i know what to drink if I have for constipation :)

I should have stated "ultraprocessed," because technically processed can mean just cooking something. I do eat homemade and organic pasta, breads, cheeses, etc., but I do not buy things like canned soups, lunch meats. I buy organic flour and sugar. I pretty much grow my own veg and some fruit, buy my beef, pork, and…

I gave up aspartame, because I seemed to get hungrier after I had one and always wanted a snack. I craved carbs. Since I switched to unsweetened tea and water, I can go without snacking. This was the best thing I did in my weight loss journey 44 lbs ago. I'm also a former food scientist and hated that I was addicted to…

My friends and coworkers have been very supportive with two telling me I inspired them to do something themselves. My two best work buddies are quite fit and have really helped me along on this journey. Acquaintances don't know what to think, but they usually want to know what diet I'm doing. I tell them portion control…

Weigh to go!

Last night - Pan fried boneless chicken thighs w/Cajun pepper-brocolli cream sauce over a quinoa/rice mix. Tonight - same sauce and quinoa/rice with a boneless porkchop and garden salad.

I don't weigh but I have weighed before just to make sure I wasn't deceiving myself on portion size (and I am a scientist). I cook a LOT and I create/alter my recipes on the fly/to taste, so it's too time-consuming to weigh. I've become pretty good at estimating and always leave a large cushion most days. I've lost 43…

Absolutely fabulous!

That's fantastic! That's what I like to hear: losing the old-fashioned, healthy way, no fads or gimmicks. You'll be able to keep it off much easier that way.

I just went a couple of weeks ago w/27 year old DD (I'm 51). We used Airbnb (stayed in Little Italy, great deal) the subway, taxi, bus, uber, and our feet. As others have said, Yelp for restaurants. We had a great time, saw a show, ate in Hells Kitchen, Noho, Harlem, Williamsburg, Chinatown, Times Square, and of course,…

I would say to not switch to diet. That's just trading one bad habit for another one. Cut back over a period of a month or so. I switched to unsweetened teas with a little bit of stevia on work day mornings and seltzer water rest of day. I don't know about Mt. Dew, but there is Coke Life (stevia and cane sugar mix).

Hot wings and fried mushrooms....I have to make them myself or I have tummy troubles for a day after. I only do this every 4-6 months though.

I have read research some time ago suggesting that chronic/binge drinkers waste calories and don't gain weight from it. I'm too lazy to find it, but it has something to do with damage/unusable metabolic pathway during heavy drinking. Low/moderate drinkers DO utilize the calories the same as other calories. I, also, do not…

Since there are only two of us at home now, it's always leftovers (just a much smaller portion). If there are no LO, I make egg salad or have an Amy's or Red's burrito from the freezer. I also take soup from the freezer.

My goal is 125, although my small frame could go for lower. I'm 51, started at 181, and now at 139. I'm 5'3.5"

^^^ Almost forgot...during my stall I've actually lost inches and comfortably wear a size 6 US in most brands. I can pull off 4s in jeans from a couple of stores.
