I'm still around on occasion! I hope you figure it out soon Ann. My wife has been tired a lot from allergies, which have been horrible this year here in AZ. Maybe it's that?? Hope they figure something out in April! I'm still working out Monday through Friday. I've switched doing active workouts on Sunday to yard work,…

Been busy, but just checking in. I'm around the same meters as you (slightly less). I'll hit around 102K today. Been just doing 10K a day Monday through Friday, working in harder sessions on Monday and Thursday. Yesterday, did 10 X 100m sprints/45 secs recovery, then a 5K moderate pace. Today will be a super easy 10K,…

@smalatas - I'm not as active on myfitnesspal any longer (I've just been too busy and I've been in maintenance so many years I'm just on autopilot mode now). I do a ton of indoor rowing. I would suggest, if you have a Facebook account, joining the C2CTC (Concept2 Cross Team Challenge) Group. It's a bunch of online folks…

Just to check in, I'm still working out (just really short on time). I just got the go ahead this week to start light lifting (post minor surgery) and doing a bit harder cardio. Did a lift this morning and then a weird rowing club interval of the month today at lunch (101 in the garage, so the "swamp cooler" only cooled so…

Haven't been reporting since I've had a bit of a health setback. I had an old cyst on my back rupture and get really angry! Long story short, had to have it removed last week (went under, not local). Decent sized incision in my back (around six inches across). They glued it back together because it was only right below the…

Read the last few pages. You all are crushing it! I'm feeling much better now but not very fit at the moment. Did a 4 X 2K today (rowing machine) with 4 minute recoveries. This was at lunch after a fairly hard lift this morning, so good day. HR got up to 95 or 96% max on the row intervals. That's the highest I've seen it…

Hi laurachambers86! Anyone can join! Just post your workouts up. Sorry I haven't posted in a while myself. Had that back injury, then caught the flu and was pretty sick for 2 weeks and chest wasn't ready to work out for another week after that! Pretty frustrating experience to be honest. Some friends down the street we…

@Ann -- thanks for the advice on the unstrapped! Been working out this week, just nothing hard. Lower back still a bit sore, but 90% better. Just not taking any chances with it. I've done five steady state (easy) cardio workouts this week and two light lifting sessions -- no weights overhead. For legs, I'm just doing air…

Tweaked my lower back on Friday. Was so sore I could barely walk. Just bent over wrong (at the waist). Guessing the harder row on Thursday contributed to it, though I did it unstrapped and kind of hard to be terrible at form when you're unstrapped. IDK, but it's not too terrible. Went to the chiropractor twice already.…

Hardish 2K interval set today out on the deck on the Concept2 Rower. I usually don't row in wind like today, but went for it. Gusts up to around 35 MPH today. Just set the Drag Factor really low and did it unstrapped. 2K X 3 with 2 minutes rest. Average pace ended up around 2:10. Kept them all pretty tight together in…

Just a super easy hour of cardio today on the treadmill and then on the Assault Bike. All around 60% max HR stuff.
-
Lifted this morning. Did a rowing machine workout on the deck at lunch. It's already in the high 80s now at lunch. Went from unseasonably cold to very hot just like that! Did an unstrapped 5K @ 2:15 pace, then did a few 750 meter sprints after. Feeling great this week after nearly two weeks of feeling pretty bad. Was…

Had a 6K (rowing machine) timed test to do today. Had a 2:15 average pace (pace in rowing is how long it takes you to row 500 meters), which isn't good, but to be expected for how little I've been rowing. HR hit 180 (93% of max) by the end.

Just an easy hour of cardio today again (same yesterday). 30 minutes on the Treadmill and 30 on the LateralX. All easy. Did get a pleasant surprise on the scale. Been hovering between 203 and 204. Today, it was 201. Just a few more pounds until I'm back under 200. That's around 10 lbs in six weeks since I've buckeled down.…

Did my lift this morning and then my first of two timed rows (machine rows) I have to do for the month for my indoor rowing club. This one seemed easy on the face but was sneaky hard. It was 700m, 70 seconds rest, 600 meters/60 seconds rest, all the way down to 100 meters. Others have said it's a good indication of where…

Handyman came and went in time for me to get my lunch hour 60 minute cardio session in. I did have to shorten my lift from five sets to four, but that's fine. Not a terrible disruption from my routine! You know you got the workout bug when the first thing that ever comes to mind when scheduling something is, "will it…

Did a quick 6 X 5 minute hard interval cardio session yesterday (one minute rest) -- my new favorite if I can't row -- I row on my deck and the winds were like 30 MPH yesterday. No way I'm rowing in that wind. Did first two intervals on treadmill, next on LateralX and last two on Assault Bike. Gradual HR climb from first…

@Djproulx -- that trip sounds wonderful! Glad you got to unwind! Just two days of easy steady state cardio for me -- yesterday and today after my hard workout on Monday. Neck is feeling much, much better. Feeling like myself again.
-
Been having some neck issues (ongoing, but flared up recently -- I got T-boned at age 22 going 60 MPH by a pickup truck), so I took Sunday off and did a ton of work around the house that needed caught up. Monday did my normal lift and then did a 1000m timed row (machine) after a 1K warmup with a 1K cool down. Flamed and…

Same thing the last two days. Just an hour of easy cardio each day. Nothing hard or fancy.

Back at it today. Took yesterday off to take my girl, Lucy (my female dog), to the vet at lunch. I hate missing my lunchtime workouts, but she was pretty sick last month. They have her on Thyroid medicine and she's improved dramatically just in a month! Today was lift in the AM, then a pretty hard-ish interval session. 5…

Sorry that I haven't been posting as much. Really have a lot at work going on! I took yesterday off, felt kind of sluggish and it was supposed to be my hard cardio day. I go by feel now at my age (58). I realize I push it hard for my age group and typically look forward to my workouts. When I don't and I'm dreading it,…

Today was another go at the 6 X 1000m/1 rest interval workout that I did on Monday. Today, though, I didn't lift before. Thought I'd try to make it a bit more tolerable and do it unstrapped. Ironically, I ended up beating my strapped in time by nearly a full second average (2:09.2 average pace today). Likely would have…

That's an uncomfortable pace at that incline. I do that, but only 5 minutes at a time (at 3.5) on my harder days.
-
Just an easy hour today, half on the treadmill @ 15% incline (2.4 MPH) and then the rest on the Assault Bike. Nothing hard.
-
Been working hard, sorry not posting as much. Did an hour on the treadmill yesterday (easy stuff) and today was a harder lift in the AM followed by my monthly indoor rowing club's challenge. It was 6 X 1000m with one minute recovery. I was dreading it and it was quite dreadful to be honest. Averaged right at around 2:10.…
-
Been working hard, just not always posting. Did a steady state hour yesterday and today did a 30 minute row, restricted to 20 SPM, for distance. Averaged around 2:15, slight improvement from last week.
-
Lifting and cardio. Hmmm, if only there was a piece of fitness equipment that incorporated both, like a rowing machine! Seriously, you should try rowing. You might love it. Today, I was supposed to row, but it was super windy and cold in Tucson. Yesterday, we broke the all time record for windy days in Tucson. Gusted at 50…
-
Just a super easy treadmill walk (incline) and then Assault Bike, around 45 minutes total. Cut a but short today.

I bought my wife one, not so much for the exercise, but I do think that they help with inflammation. The year I bought it, my stepson and my son made fun of it, then they got it for 10 minutes. They were kind of surprised that it worked muscles at all (and my son is really into fitness). Doesn't burn much, I'd guess 250 to…
