At a doctor appointment 18 months ago,I found out I had become obese (BMI 31), my blood pressure was still high despite taking medication, my cholesterol was creeping up (244), and I knew if I didn’t take serious action I was headed for trouble at age 62. Went back for a check up a couple of weeks ago and I’ve lost 44…

Saw my doctor today, first time I’ve had blood work since before I lost weight. My cholesterol went down 50 points (244-194)!

Lunch after running errands was delicious! Fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and a banana with cottage cheese topped with roasted almonds.

I haven’t really had one in a while, but I’m noticing lately that the loose skin on my upper arms is definitely tightening up! I have been maintaining a 44 pound loss since October, so it’s a gradual process but it’s happening:).

I’ve been maintaining for 7 months now and I weigh myself every morning. I don’t discuss it with anyone though.

OP, I just wanted to say well done on your loss. I am at a place now where I would be very happy with that rate of loss. Be well!

500 days as of today!

I like Yasso Bars—built in portion control.

Popcorn, especially the kettle style. I’ve found it’s the one thing I can’t moderate.

Elephant heart here too!

Butting in here :) My suggestion — Friendship Cottage Cheese. Far and away the best I’ve ever had!

I just had zucchini, sweet onion and green beans sautéed together—went well with baked chicken. Sometimes I’ll add pepper strips. I do a lot of throw-together veggies.

Same, I still have my gallbladder but carbs-especially the starchy ones-make me want to keep eating.

Name: Patti How long in maintenance: 7 1/2 months Goal maintenance range: 130-133 Current weight: 130 pounds, 5’2.5” Current goal: 125 Recent success: just completed my first full week back at eating at my ‘lose 1/2 pound a week’ level. Friendship cottage cheese lol. Someone here mentioned how good it was —I tried it and will never go back to Daisy— it’s so good.

I’ve only lost 45 pounds. I haven’t gone down a shoe size but quite a few pairs of shoes I’ve had a while are now too wide. I stretched them out obviously when I was heavier. They are medium width and I’m still a medium width. One change I’m happy about is I can now wear tall boots in a regular calf and western boots —I…

Five days isn’t a lot of time, it was about three weeks before I saw the scale move. I did perceive my clothes hanging a bit better before that though.

This too!

Congrats! Isn’t that the best-lol! I just love my visible collar bones

I don’t. Just personal preference. I drink a lot of sparkling mineral water and occasionally will have regular cola (usually mixed with rum).

That I was overweight my entire adult life while telling myself I was big boned. All along I was overfat and ate too many calories. That losing weight by counting calories isn’t difficult. But... Losing weight in a healthy fashion takes time and constancy. That even at the middle of a healthy BMI, my body isn’t perfect,…

Hi Deb, I’m 63 and in the last year I’ve lost 43 pounds by simply eating within my calorie limit and moving more. I plugged my stats in here and logged daily. I started at 173 and am now maintaining right around 130. This took about 9 months. Take it one day at a time, patience and consistency will get you there.

Rum and coke-about once a week.

Beef, chicken, cottage cheese, yogurt....
