Hello everyone-I’m really happy to see a Keto group here! I lost about 40 pounds strictly calorie counting in 2018 on here and kept it off for months until a medical issue threw me for a loop and I ended up gaining it all back. For both health and weight, I’ve been Keto since mid July of this year and am 21 pounds down. I…

Thanks for the welcomes! I just finished 40 minutes on my recumbent bike, that makes 6 days this week. (I’ve had it 2 weeks now) Calories are on point too, and I’m loving the extra I get from all the peddling.

Is it too late to join in? I’m back and in the same boat—I lost 44 pounds in 2019, counting calories and walking. Went from 174-130 and kept it off until I had a health scare and stopped counting. Sitting at 161 now, down from 172. I purchased a recumbent bike a couple weeks ago and find I love it.

The only thing that reliably works for me is to log my intake and stay within my calorie limit.

Any of the Magnum Bars. The chocolate they use is so good!

I love a Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Lara bar and a big mug of hot tea. With half and half, total calories about 250.

As someone who lost 45 pounds at age 62-63, I would (if you haven’t already) set your rate of loss to a half pound a week and eat back most of your exercise calories. Personally, I didn’t find it any more difficult to lose weight post menopause.

Of course it depends on how much “less”. If you’re talking about sometimes being under by a few calories, then it probably won’t do anything one way or the other. If you mean being significantly under calories consistently, then you will lose more but at what cost? Better to stay the course, within the calorie limit…

I was just there today for lunch. The lettuce wraps are very good and I usually get the ginger broccoli chicken.

My family is Italian, I grew up in central NY. We always had salad with dinner (lettuce, tomato, celery, carrots dressed with oil and vinegar, onion and garlic powder. We ate it after the meal.

Vanilla Greek yogurt, blueberries, grain free granola and tea with half & half.

I had the reverse happen. I thought I was 5’2.5” and at my last doctors appointment I was measured as 5’3.25”. I call it 5’3” now :)

Hi and welcome! I’m 63 now and had been overweight my whole life—the last couple years crossing over into obese (BMI 31). What was different this time: I joined up here at the beginning of 1018, plugged in my info and decided for once in my life to trust the process. I read the forums daily and logged everything I consumed…

Omg, what is the matter with people that would say something like that? Would have hurt me too. Congratulations on your loss and be well:)

Salt, starchy carbs, hot weather. I also retain water when I’m sick.

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2005 after more than 20 years of symptoms. I was misdiagnosed for many years. Among my many symptoms were anemia, anxiety, nausea, brain fog, peripheral neuropathy (pins and needles) and right before being diagnosed—weight loss. I suddenly lost 15 pounds. Within about 6 months of a…

I’m 5’3”, lost 44 pounds from 173-129, age 63. I’ve been maintaining since the beginning of October. I have loose skin on my upper arms, thighs and stomach (but I’ve also had 2 abdominal surgeries). My arms have shown improvement, the other areas not so much but I’m still much happier at this weight —and if I’m stuck with…

Penzey’s pepper blend, Vietnamese cinnamon, roasted garlic powder, white onion powder, I love all that I’ve tried from there.

I use 1/2 cup of 2% milk. I pour the milk into a mug, microwave for 1 minute, pour coffee in. I use a Kereug on a smaller cup setting. Almost a cappuccino!

Definitely see a gastroenterologist. In my case, anemia was a symptom of celiac disease. I wasn’t able to absorb the iron in my diet. As other people here have explained, there are other things that can cause it. A good gastro will help you pin down what’s going on. Best of luck:)

I don’t eat anything I don’t like. Life is indeed short and I don’t have tons of calories (relatively) to work with so I want to enjoy them all. I agree about roasting your veggies! It makes such a difference. Try some good Pecorino Romano on top too!
