I hate mayonnaise.

Congratulations!! :smiley:

Most definitely!

Congratulations on the fabulous progress you’ve made! You look great, so healthy and beautiful.

Yes, that is exactly what I did. Just day after day of making sure I was in a caloric deficit. Not magic, not glamorous but it works! It’s definitely slow but in the long run it’s the best way, in my opinion. I’m down 43 pounds since January.

I shortchanged myself (actually a typo)! I’ve lost 43 pounds in 9 months :smile:

@pinuplove -those are adorable!!

Quite the first post. OP, you do not “deserve” to feel bad—you did not do anything “bad”! It happens to all of us at one point or another, all you can do is log it and move on. I’ll bet, as was already explained, that you are still in a weekly deficit. ((hug))

My first thought was also why in the world would someone put themselves through that-it sounds dangerous.

33 pounds in 9 months.

Their eyes just kinda glaze over....pretty soon you are talking to yourself lol.
-
I’m so happy for you! Great work and congrats on your 56 pound loss-well done! Best of health to you going forward:)

You have a long torso (as do I), I think you look great as you are.

My first impulse would be to say it’s been countless times, but the vast majority of those times I quit so quickly that any weight loss I managed I gained right back. I think I lost weight seriously twice before. The first time was about 35 years ago-lol. I ate normally but cut my portions and also cut fat (that was “in”…

@melto1989 -thank you :smile:

@73CL350 I have no idea how my post got quoted into yours! Sorry! Edited to say I fixed it. Yeesh!

I don’t get it either. Although, I had already filled out my food log earlier in the day so the site being down really didn’t affect me—except I was a bit concerned that I could lose my data.

I started out here in January at 173 with the goal of 150 and fitting nicely into my clothes again. Once I got into the groove of logging, found out how many calories I actually needed and why, and reading the boards, I blew past 150 and over the weeks and months have reached 130. None of my (old) clothes fit anymore, but…

You look great, well done with all of your progress!

I went from 173 to 130 in the past 9 months, and didn’t really see a lot of progress in my stomach area until getting from 140 to 130. My stomach is not (and never will be unfortunately) flat since I have had 2 abdominal surgeries and a 10.5 pound chid. There’s only so much shrinking I’m going to get but I’m happy with it.

I’m older than you but have almost identical stats—congratulations on a job well done! You look great :)
-
@CarvedTones -congratulations! It’s amazing (and somewhat surreal) to see those sizes go down, isn’t it! :smiley:
-
@apullum thank you for the recommendations! They all sound really good-especially the cinnamon one:)

I’m a tea lover:). My favorite is Tazo English Breakfast. I’ve never had the Harney & Sons, but really want to try it. My new go-to drink at Starbucks is Royal English Breakfast with steamed almond milk.

I did it every 10 pounds.
-
It did—and you look great! Well done :smile:
-
It all comes down to calories—have you plugged your stats in here? I would start there, and log your foods/drinks consistently and honestly. Weight loss happens over time, as @cmriverside said give it a couple months. Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much :blush: I kept it simple—my diet was/is foods I enjoy within the calorie goals MyFitnessPal suggests. I don’t count anything except calories, but I do make sure to get enough protein. For exercise, I walk briskly for at least 30 minutes most days. I have my Fitbit linked to MyFitnessPal and eat back the…

My stomach was my “trouble area”. I have lost a total of 53 pounds and it wasn’t until I lost the last 10 that I really noticed a significant difference there (from 140-130). It was definitely the last to go for me. The others are right, you have to keep on and be patient until your body chooses to let it go.

Love this thread. I’m in maintenance at the moment and it truly is like losing—just with more calories. I plan to hopefully maintain for a while and then maybe try for the last 5 pounds I’d ideally like to drop. I feel like maintenance is underrated (not on here, but in general) but I’ve never been in this position before…
