I've tried features/boots/cortisone/PT. none of those did anything for me. I did get significant relief with ART however. I still am very careful to keep myiles down at least for now

Sounds like you're getting excellent advice from the other posters, let me add my own experience. I use the eliptical a fair amount because running is something I can only do in moderation due to chronic foot injuries. I used one of the many pre-programmed 'workout's that the machine has. This varies the incline and…

Hi thanks. Yes the max is to minimize the risk of PF returning. It's a horrible condition which can affect your ability to even walk! So I'm biking 5x per week during my lunch break, doing 2x eliptical at the gym per week and some half-hearted lifting. Food wise ... Cutting the beer and refined carbohydrates. I still eat…

Good, non-light, beer. Like Stone Arrogant B@stard or the like. Tasty, but soooo caloric.

I take 75 ml Absolut vodka + a ton of ice + 10 oz soda water, + muddled mint leaves from the garden (they grow like a weed out here), juice of half lemon. Tastes really good, and not horribly caloric.

Yay I finally found a forum for my age bracket! I'm male 48, 5 11 and have been on MFP for 3 weeks. I started at 225 and dropped to 165 using WW in 08. Kept the weight off via trail running until 2015 when plantar fasciitis sidelined me. I got back to 195 before the alarm bells went off. I'm at 182 currently ... Shooting…

My biggest discovery has been sweet potatoes. I used to much prefer russets but now I only buy sweet potatoes. I can cook several and add them to salads over the next couple days.

I'm on my 2nd round also with 30ish lbs to lose. 48 yo. I'm super motivated on both the diet and exercise aspects and would like to be friends.

TV slows me down. I need to loud heavy music personally. One time I was rocking out (with headphones in of course) and realized I looked kind of silly while plodding along on the treadmill

Wow, that is the EXACT deal I made with my doc in 2008 (the first time I did this). Well except hormonal imbalance, but for me it was blood sugar. He wanted to put me on metformin, and I asked him for a six month reprieve. Six months later I had lost 40 of the 50 pounds and my numbers were totally fine. This time, I'm a…

Back on the wagon describes me. I lost significant weight in 2008, and kept it off by running. Well the inevitable running injury (plantar fasciitis) sidelined me last year at 47 years old ... and well you know how that story typically ends. I've got 30-35 lbs to lose ... this time with 10 miles running per week max…

I wish my binge was only 600 calories  Last Saturday I was at my father's 72nd bday with the best of intentions ... but with the wine, homemade peach pie.... well you get the picture. Ugh 1500 over for that day! But this was the interesting part ... the next day I was not craving that many calories, and things are…
