  • Spaghetti sauce over noodles and mushrooms. Chili. Soup. "Burrito bowls" - chicken, corn, beans and salsa over Brown rice. "Stir Fry Bowls" - chicken or shrimp, broccoli, carrots, edamame and asian sauce over brown rice. For breakfasts, I do a big pan of egg white frittata and cut it into pieces to freeze separately.
  • You are an inspiration. Great work! What did you do to make it fun? That's what I need to do... stop thinking if it as a chore.
  • Wow! You look fantastic! Way to go!!
  • Almond milk is a good alternative to cow's milk. I use it in oatmeal, pudding and smoothies. When mixed with other ingredients, I can't tell the difference between almond milk and skim. I also recommend pasta zero type of noodles. They are very low cal and filling.
  • If you like cucumbers, try sliced cucumbers sprinkled with salt and lemon juice. Kinda like a pickle... but different.
  • Heavy cream and Torani sugar free hazelnut syrup.
  • This is all very good advice. The only suggestion I can add is to brush your teeth after dinner. Sometimes, that clean minty feeling is enough to remind me that eating time has ended for the day. :)
  • Avocado toast is yummy! I eat it almost every day. For keto, instead of toast you could make it an avocado lettuce wrap. You could also use half a red/yellow/orange pepper in place of the toast. You won't get the same taste as that Maillard reaction in toast, but the avocado is still delicious.
  • It sounds to me like you might benefit from strength training. There are two books that I would recommend you read.... Thinner, Leaner, Stronger. New Rules of Lifting for Women. Both are available on amazon. Both are geared toward women specifically. I promise, you will learn a lot about health, fitness and diet from these…
  • Wow! What an inspiration. I'm so happy for you! Thanks for checking back in and updating. It's really great to hear about (and see!) your success.
  • I used the night splint for a little while and it definitely helped. It is not the most comfortable thing, but it worked quickly and I only needed it for about a month. After that, I was able to keep it under control with stretching and wearing orthotics in my shoes. So I stopped using the splint at that point. A little…
  • I could not have said it better than Annie_01. Good luck on your journey. You can do this!
  • Congratulations! That's a major milestone.
  • I like to eat hardboiled eggs dipped in yellow mustard. My dad grew up during the Depression and mustard was cheap and that was often the only condiment they would have. So he liked eating pancakes with mustard on them. I was never willing to try it but my sisters would eat them and they said it was actually good!
  • I tried keto for a little while. I found it very helpful to make and freeze a variety of casseroles to use for dinners. I froze them in foil trays from the dollar store then labelled the top with the calories and macros and cooking instructions. From there, you just take one out in the morning and put it in your fridge so…
  • Coffee, tea and hot broth all work for me. I think the feeling of a warm, full belly makes me feel like I just ate a big meal. I use this as a strategy to conserve calories too. If I get to dinner time and don't have many calories left, I'll eat a small meal and have hot tea or broth with it. My stomach feels full and it…
  • Peachvine, that's fantastic! I am the same height and am also within 15 pounds of my goal. I have read several posters on MFP suggest that when you get this close to goal, you should reduce the deficit to the 0.5 lb/week (just like MikePTY suggested). It's great to hear back from you and hear that it's been working for…
  • I agree with all those who said to see a physician and to check your actual calories vs what MFP suggest. Ask to have your vitamin D levels tested in addition. Good luck!
  • Congratulations!
  • Some people actually prefer eating several small meals throughout the day. So embrace that this is your reality and make it work for you! I had a lot of success with pre-logging an entire day's worth of food in small meals/snacks. I kept the menu simple and use mostly foods that were easy to "grab and go" or that I could…
  • Healthy Choice has some frozen meals that are bowls. They are good. Lean Cuisine also has several tasty options. I like canned soups too. Add a steamer bag of veggies to the frozen meal or canned soup to help increase the volume without adding a lot of calories. I'm also a fan of Yogurt. My current favorite is Dannon Light…
  • Check out fitmencook. I love his videos.
  • In the beginning I kept my meals super simple and repeated the same meals often so that logging was easier. I picked things I like to eat and weighed out reasonable portions. Once I had a little bit of history in my recent foods, logging took less time and felt like less of a burden. I highly recommend logging *before* you…
  • I found it really helpful to buy some nice smallish food storage containers. My favorite are wide mouth mason jars in the short size and the tall size. Get the plastic lids too... they work on both sizes. Also, Mason sells a plastic funnel-type thing that makes it easier to pour things into the jar. The tall Mason jars are…
  • I make pitchers of iced tea with 6 bags of green tea and 3 bags of mint tea. I usually make 1 pitcher with decaf green tea and one with caffeinated green tea. It's good with or without sweetener. I use Stevia when I want it sweetened. I also like iced Hibiscus tea. Another low-cal option is watermelon water. Put a few…
  • Thank you for the recommendations! I will check these out.
  • Tajin... great on eggs, avocado, veggies. I also love apple cider vinegar. Freshly squeezed lime juice is also delicious.
  • I try to keep my "allowed" foods in a slightly different spot than the food that the rest of the family eats. For example, I have a separate shelf in the fridge and the freezer where I keep my yogurts and meals that I've portioned out for myself. In the pantry, I have one shelf and one basket that are my pre-portioned…
