  • 17 lbs is great. I'm sure all the prep will be helpful.
  • I'm so glad I had the surgery. It has not been easy but I've lost about 50 lbs so far and I know I wouldn't have been able to do so on my own.
  • I struggle with that too for different reasons. My husband and I have a group of friends that we often visit wineries with and go out to dinner. We also enjoyed cooking dinner and eating together. So I feel like he's losing out on socializing. He's been so supportive and as I feel better I know that this is temporary and…
  • Yesterday I was released to the pureed food stage. I think did eat a little bit too much for the first day. Not too much that I got sick or anything but I did feel uncomfortably full. So today I just did herbal tea and liquids all morning. I had about 4 bites ( from a baby spoon as suggested by the nutritionist) of pureed…
  • Sleeved nov 14, 2016. Just joining these groups. Feel free to add me.
  • Don't be ashamed. I was just reading about Al Roker having bypass years and gaining back like 60 lbs. so it can happen even to someone with all the resources he has. He's back in healthy shape now. Losing 104 is amazing! You can do 35!
  • Akindofmagic, do you have a link for the chicken soup?
  • Oh and I agree with Steven. Extra sleeping helps :/
  • Some warm chicken broth helps me. It doesn't kill the hunger but something warm in my stomach helps a little. I feel your pain I'm on week 3 of what feels like starvation. I did two weeks of Medifast pre-op which is practically all liquid. And on my 7th and hopefully final day of clear liquids after surgery. I should be…
  • I was sleeved Monday, Nov. 14. It's been a rough few days but I'm hanging in there and I know it's going to be worth it.
  • Hi Sheila, I was sleeved Monday, Nov 14th. I had to do two weeks of metifast. It was rough but I stuck with it and lost about 13 pounds, in addition to seven I had lost on my own. Now I'm in the clear liquid stage and have been so hungry yesterday and today. I'm having a hard time getting through. How have things been for…
  • Oh, sleeved not sleeping. Don't know how to edit
  • Akindofmagic your list made me smile. Especially those little things. I can't wait to have my surgery on Nov. 14th.
  • Thanks for posting. It's very encouraging to know that you're still doing good. I was scheduled for about six weeks ago and postponed because of second thoughts. Since then, I've been eating healthier, exercising and logging on Mfp. I think taking that extra time has made me realize that I can do this and surgery will help…
  • I'm scheduled for November 14. A little nervous but can't wait to get it over with. I'm on day two of the 2 week pre-op diet which is Medifast required by my particular surgeon. I'm a good cook and use fresh ingredients so this is tough. Not really hungry but it's hard to stomach this packaged, processed "food". I know it…
  • I'm trying to stick to things that keep me full. Today was just over 1300 calories B - 2 boiled eggs, coffee, granola bar L - huge "salad in a jar" with ranch dressing S - P2 snack from Walmart (cheese cubes, apple slices, cashews &dried cranberries) D - fat burning soup (recipe from women's world),spaghetti squash S -…
  • I would love to read more about both of your experiences. How you felt immediately after surgery, any difficulties, anything easier than you thought. .....
  • I am scheduled for gastric sleeve in mid November. I was originally scheduled for October 8 but backed out the day before my consent visit. I have rescheduled but I am considering canceling altogether if I can stick with a healthy lifestyle and try to lose the weight on my own. I want to lose about 120 pounds. It seems…
