  • Great job on dropping 10 already! Once the ball starts rolling it is so much easier to stay on track!
  • Every day is a new day, if you fall off track, just start fresh the next day. What are you doing for a diet? I try to allow some form of a treat/cheat meal once a week so I don't feel like I am being deprived of foods I enjoy. Feel free add me!

  • As mentioned by a few others, high intensity cardio is great for metabolizing fat. I do hill sprints and jump ropes when I am pressed for time and can't squeeze in a longer cardio session.
  • You've made a great step by getting onto MFP! A lot of good information on here as well as people to help keep you motivated. With several conditions already in place, make sure you consult with your doctor before trying a new diet or workout plan. Finding something else to take the place of food for comfort will be a big…
  • Welcome back!
  • You've come to the right place, logging daily works you just have to stick with it! I have yo-yo-ed several times when I have used the app in the past. I would log for several weeks/months, lose weight and then stop logging. Once I stop the weight comes back because I am no longer paying attention to what I have been…
  • The planning ahead definitive helps me for the holiday's or gatherings, knowing what things I can munch on ahead of time at holiday parties and dinners keeps me on track!
  • I've noticed regularity has dropped a bit since starting keto, but I will throw in some fiber supplements if I have not gotten enough naturally throughout the day.
  • I try to keep my cheats to one meal a week. If I have been really on track I may splurge with a small piece of chocolate, or something sweet. I have noticed now that my carb and sugar intake is lower, sweets taste so much better when I do have them, makes it more rewarding! But when I do have a cheat meal, usually the next…
  • Pepperoni and cheese has been my LC binge snack.
  • When I started I gradually reduced my carb intake. Did a few days at 70-80g, then dropped down to 50-60g. Now that I got the hang of things I try to keep my total carbs under 30g. I've been sticking to 70%fat 25%protein and 5%carbs for my macros, so far so good. I got those numbers from a co-worker who has been doing LCHF…
  • My go too work meal, Turkey BLC! (no tomato just bacon, provolone, turkey, avacado and mayo wrapped in lettuce)
  • I chew gum like it is going out of style, and drink a lot of water to stay full.
  • Welcome, and congrats on taking a big step to help better yourself! Im on a LCHF and it can be frustrating when some of your favorite veggies are very high in carbs. I still aim to keep my total net carbs under 30 for the day.
  • Feel free to add me! I log daily and am constantly checking in. The more the merrier!
  • If you have access to a gym, try using one of the elliptical or the stationary bikes, they are much less impact on your joints especially when you are getting back into a routine. Also try doing some leg exercises to help get your strength back up if you prefer running. Some easy ones to do in your house would be body…
  • Welcome! FR sent, I am on daily, seeing other people hitting their goals and receiving encouragement for doing the same helps keep the motivation going!
  • Welcome! plenty of motivating people here, and lots of useful information, tips and tricks to help you succeed! Feel free to add me!

  • Welcome! Glad you are looking to make a change even with the back injury! Feel free to add me!
  • I personally like weighing myself daily, even if I see the fluctuations with water weight etc. Weighing every day helps remind me to stay on track as well!
  • If eating carbs works for you, and you are losing weight, don't change what you are doing! It is all personal preference. I personally like low carb, I feel better eating this way, there is also a lot of diabetes within my family so I personally like the reduced sugar benefits. At the end of the day if you are making…
  • Great job on logging for so long! I have been on and off the app for years myself and find every time I stop the weight sneaks back up on me. It really is tough to gauge how much you are putting into your body if you are not keeping track of it. And I'll second the beautiful dog comment. I have a golden retriever and a pit…

  • Welcome back! The relationship weight is tough, I've read the more comfortable you become with someone, and happier you are with someone you tend to gain more. My wife and I also love food that is not so good for us. Having an apartment and control over what you are eating is great though, I find that meal prep is the most…
  • Welcome! The app alone really does work, every time I have used it I have lost weight, and when I think I can try going without it, I end up gradually putting it back on and coming back again. If strenuous exercise is not an option, check with your Dr first of course, but myself and a co-worker have used the keto diet with…
