Love love love biking! It's totally my happy place. I'm sure it's helped me lose weight but I consider it more on the mental health side. Weight loss is mostly diet but the joy I get from biking helps me not overeat from stress and anxiety. Listen to your body when it comes to your knee. How did it feel after your ride?…

That's right! I'm sorry I'm not adding friends... I have my friends privacy settings wide open so my BB coach can look. She is my only friend on here because I feel weird about other people being able to see everything I eat! Nothing personal.

I love MH&C! I'm probably not starting another round for a month, though. I love biking and I'm just doing biking and yoga till the weather turns. Then I'll start another round of it. Really felt great and I got great results. My favorite BB program by far.

The point about the high school weight was that I was unable to maintain a BMI within the "healthy" range, even with a lot of intention and care, when I was 16. I question my ability to do it 20 years later.

Thanks, these are the stories I was hoping to hear!

Thanks... I'm really hoping to do better this time. I do have the diagnosis on my side, plus I do know more and I do my own grocery shopping. I am feeling good at my current weight (my profile picture was in the 190# range and now I have 27% or so body fat). So I'll keep going and see how I feel.

I just got a Fitbit so I'm interested in hearing more. Older forum posts say to add breastfeeding in as a food with negative calories. I've been doing that but it doesn't seem to show up in any view. I think you can manually put it in as an exercise... at 15 week PP it might be 500 calories.

Ours is a great eater too! Happily downed salmon, green beans, butternut squash soup and strawberries for dinner, when her friends the same age subside on pizza and bananas. Who knows, but I think giving her all kinds of food to start with helped.

I'm finding it easier just because if I don't take care of myself, I quickly turn into a hot, anxious mess. Eating right and exercising has been necessary for my survival. It made me feel better before I had kids, but now it is essential.

Look up baby led weaning. Thank me when your baby is six months old! It's really easy and a fairly old fashioned concept. Like a lot of things these days, it gets a new name and renewed interest. Your baby just eats whatever you are eating, barring choking hazards. We did this, also occasionally mashed banana or avocado,…

Amazon Prime. I use Beachbody videos too but I almost exclusively work out at home.

Closer to 20 for me

I maintained in the 170s most of my 20s. Ran, biked, played capoeira, really enjoyed life and felt great. So that's my point of reference. I've lost a significant amount of weight one other time in my life and spent maybe a week being a very muscular (was weightlifting) 155. I was 16. Granted, I was diagnosed with a…

Thank you! ;)

I'm going to ask that no one else jumps on this bandwagon. Let me get to 170 and see how it goes. I am trying to maintain a healthy mentality towards weight loss so I would really appreciate it if you guys respect my goal to get to 170 and don't point out that I "should" go lower... thanks!

I just wrote and told her I don't think it's possible... eep! Hopefully it was all a misunderstanding.

I've been reading and am wondering if she's talking about food BULK and mistaking that for calories? Like, 100g of cauliflower has few grams of macros. But it's also low calorie.
-
Thanks everyone for your insight! I really appreciate everyone, especially StaciMarie and Sud0nim! I'm going to keep plugging away!

I know this is an older thread but I just got on here and searched for mthfr. It has REAL effects on the people whose homocysteine levels go up. It caused blood clots and related health problems for me, which were literally better within weeks of taking proper vitamins and daily aspirin. I think there's some quackery out…

I think you're right in that I was mixing up whatever MFP counts as my base calories and TDEE. Yes, yes and yes. Coming off a 3 week plateau is making me feel better. I've been steadily losing about 1.5 lb a week for six months and feeling fabulous. My daughter has good language skills and there have been times she has…

StaciMarie1974 if a 500 calorie deficit is what I'm looking at, and I don't count exercise into my daily calorie requirements (that TDEE was for the first step up from sedentary), I have been at 1900 many days. Just some days I'm at 1500 and don't even notice. Most days I'm 1800-1900. I usually weigh in on Fridays and…

The thing about Beachbody is that I love the exercise component. I really like their workout videos. Their support groups are great and other than the nutritional information (I think my coach has always recommended calories way below where I think I should be for a reasonable deficit), my coach has been so positive,…

25 weeks, 39 (maybe 40+, I fit into some shorts that didn't fit before this week) lbs. about 1.5 lb loss a week.
-
Ok, that helps a lot. Though I've only been logging for a month and skipped a whole week in there. Otherwise I was going off the Beachbody container system. I'll keep collecting information in the meantime. I'll be weighing myself on Friday and it will have been about 6 months at that point. I've been at a little more than…

She did. She used an example. I think it can work on a tiny scale. I don't think you can eek 200 extra calories out of it easily. Besides that, I don't get the point of doing it that way. I'm eating food so my body can do its thing. I want the food I eat to be useful.
-
I'm confused about where I should be. Like, if I can have 1500 calorie days without giving it a second thought, but I'm *supposed* to be at 2500, do I go off of the fact I'm feeling fine, or how much I'm supposed to be eating? I don't think I've damaged my metabolism? I'm a hearty eater and that's what got me to 220# in…

Hm. Wondering if it would be worthwhile to see a nutritionist. I'm not uncomfortable at my current calorie deficit but it's probably way too low long term. I'm average height and about 183 now, would be comfortable staying in the low 170s for years to come because I have a sturdy build. But wouldn't complain if I could go…

I didn't... I was concerned about getting enough carbs because I'm breastfeeding. It's not that big of a deal because she's 18 months but I do want to nurse to 2 years.
