I am also 32 - and pretty cool in my own mind.
-
I started by looking up basic keto menus - then when I was like hey, I can do this - I researched the diet itself. After that I did a major pantry overhaul and joined a couple FB groups and dove right in!
-
Breakfast - Americano w/heavy cream Snack - Bacon Lunch - Egg salad w/celery Snack2 - almonds Dinner - eggs w/boursin, onion, and spinach Snack 3 - cheesecake fluff

I do net carbs. If I'm logging everything on MFP it's not hard to subtract.

Don't for overwhelmed! Start basic because KETO and everything that can go along with it might seem overwhelming at first. Feel free to add me if you'd like!
-
I'm all about honesty - the first week is a huge booger. You are ridding yourself of the cravings and the withdrawal is real but after that the energy you gain is amazing. My skin looks so much better! Before starting I just researched the hell out of KETO. My biggest piece of advice - start basic or it will seem so…

Me too! Which is crazy because this lifestyle makes me feel amazing. My skin is gorgeous and my energy level is insane!
-
nilla wafers w/sharp cheddar cheese and pineapple rings w/mayo and sharp cheddar cheese haha

Meal planning is my saving grace. I prep everything on Sunday - eat the same breakfast/lunch/snacks all week and then have my ideas ready for dinner. If I don't have a plan I can pretty much guarantee that day will be a failure. Even my weekends - I know what I'm eating. It really helps me keep my eye on the prize!
-
My only keto advice is start basic. With keto it's SOOO easy to get overwhelmed. It's my favorite lifestyle - of course I go off a little over Thanksgiving but it always pulls me right by in.
-
I want to hate sugar. I try to hate sugar. Damn you sugar!!! Why you so good?!?!
-
Not new to KETO - but I try to log everything. Took a break over Thanksgiving so working my way back into Ketosis.

4 am for the gym - it just works for me. It's empty and the perfect way to start my day.
-
Pretty much agree with everything @jcavanna2 mentioned. I was in the gym but only walking on the treadmill a week and a half after surgery. I didn't start lifting weights until about 6 weeks out.

I had the sleeve and had hair loss. My hair is SUPER thick so it wasn't noticeable to anyone but me - but there were times I cried over it. Then just like magic at 6 months it stopped coming out. I think hair loss is inevitable. Yeah, broth wasn't my favorite but I'd add hot sauce to it and call it a day haha! I just…

my ultimate egg sandwich is - texas toast, fried egg, cheese, and bacon. Let's not forget to griddle it with mayo instead of butter. ahhhh, so good!
-
not a cookie but I can eat my weight in peanut butter balls and divinity. I can pass on the cookies.

I stocked up on gas-x strips, B12, protein shakes (seriously, every flavor because they get old fast). I had a heating pad to help with gas pains....umm it was pretty basic the first couple weeks. Chicken broth (I recommend bone broth as it tastes better and has protein).

Welcome! I had the sleeve almost 16 months ago. I know that for the first six months I had significant hair loss. I cried over it - seriously, it was bad but not bad enough that it made me regret my decision. At 6 months the hair loss totally stopped and my hair is back to the super thick hair I had before surgery. I'm…

I completely understand! I weigh just like you - morning and night! My fiance ended up hiding my scales for a month and the withdrawal was REAL. Honestly, not having the scale for the month kept me in check and I ended up losing 7lbs that month. I was like you - I would justify my eating by what the scale was saying. It…

My MIL lives 6500 miles away and doesn't speak English. The very little she does speak we try to communicate and I've tried learning some things in Arabic. So...I don't have any negative things! Plus they don't celebrate the holidays we celebrate so no issues there either!

cheesecake, cheeseballs, dips, and other appetizers that we usually have at the table. Oh, and my favorite - coca cola salad. So yeah, there's lots!
-
lettuce wrapped burger. It's easy and the only thing I have to cook is ground beef patties.

One day I just decided that I NEEDED it. It wasn't an option anymore. I started off for 30 minutes 2x a week then 3 and now I go 4x a week from anywhere for 1.5-2hours. Now I need the gym - it's my place where I have time to focus on me. Is it hard to go? Some days it truly is a struggle. I go at 4am because I know if I…

popcorn. I'm obsessed with it. I follow KETO so it's not an option....but if I eat it I can make myself sick.

I believe there are a couple people who have had it done in Mexico that post here quite often. In one of the FB groups I belong to a girl had hers performed in Mexico and had excellent results. The only difference between our surgeries was she received staples and I had stitches that dissolved. I can check and see where…

Speaking of baking - I made a cream cheese pound cake for a work function today and it's taking every ounce of me to know dive mouth first into this cake! haha

Yes! We were paying over 100 as a family (myself, son, fiance) for the "fancy" gym when all we were doing was a little strength training and cardio. We got rid of that and now go to ATC and pay 45 a month for all 3 of us. I'm lucky enough to have a gym at work so I spend most of my work out time there but love knowing that…

I haven't had a drink since Oct 10th. lol That was my last day of vacation!

I love chia pudding mine usually consists of Chia seeds, flax, hemp seed, pumpkin seeds, heavy cream, almond milk, and low carb protein powder. I'll heat it or eat it cold. So yumm!
