  • I think some are and some are not. Some foods are modified with study and care and for good reasons. Some are for financial gain only and not concerned with health and safety. I think the main thing is transparency. We have a right to know what is modified and what is not on our labels.
  • Uncle Ben's pre-cooked basmati is good and easy. We also use a rice cooker with organic brown basmati from Costco (Use more water than when using white rice so it cooks longer and gets softer.)
  • I am not vegetarian or vegan but anti factory farming of animals myself. I don't drink dairy (and eat very little), choose fish/seafood or veggie mostly eating out and buy beef/pork/eggs locally from people I know treat farm animals like animals.
  • I think the eating more veggies and fruits is definitely a good thing on most if not all diets. Whether you get your protein from meat or beans/nuts I think the calories will be about the same. And lots of grains (even the healthy whole ones) seem to balance out the higher fat on low carb diets. So I guess I'm saying…
  • I actually pay for weight watchers online so many times in January (the 3 month plan) and lose a little, stop losing (my fault not the plan), and cancel. This past summer I found out about the itrackbites app which lets you do any of the WW plans or calorie count and costs 2.99 one time (a bit extra for online search and…
  • Having dogs is really good for us doing a little walking each day.
  • Good morning ladies Posting from work and hoping I can find a pic of my coonhound mix on here. He does not look coonhound (and least not the treeing walker kind is is partially) but acts kind of houndy around squirrels and walking. This is him at the shelter when I got him (and foster failed) last year. He was full grown…
  • Hi all, new (well starting myfitness pal again anyway) so no August goals to report. My rest of September (and since I work in public schools, it totally is the new year to me- in fact my birthday is the end of August, kind of when we start back, so doubly a new start) are: Drink more (3 cups) of plain water (I do think it…
  • Maybe, but the calories would be really low and you might not get adequate nutrition. Some foods do boost your metabolism a bit and give you energy.
  • Didn't realize that. I "searched" Mediterranean diet to see if there was a topic on it already and found this one.
  • I've read about 40-20-40 Or maybe even 40 (carb) 17 (protein) 43 (fat) but the fat is mostly olive oil.
  • I think 7 may be enough for me too. I do like the extra on the weekend though.
  • Most years I seem to start diets in November, hoping to lose some until the holidays and then not gain during. Some years go better than others.
